Chapter 1015: The Plan

This time, the otherworldly exploration operation could be said to have opened a new chapter. However, after discussion, Liang En and the others decided that for the foreseeable future, they would focus solely on exploration and gathering spatial coordinate information. The main reason for this decision is that they believed they, as extraordinary beings from a non-extraordinary world, had significant shortcomings and weaknesses when confronting extraordinary beings from other extraordinary worlds.

Therefore, they concluded that it would be better to spend ten years accumulating their extraordinary power to a certain level before engaging in further exploration.

Of course, apart from accumulating extraordinary power through archaeology and treasure hunting, the three historical followers would also enhance their extraordinary power by absorbing the extraordinary energy seeping through the spatial gates.

As historical followers akin to heroic spirits, these women would still be top-tier entities even in an extraordinary world. However, this world clearly limited their powers.

So, once they accumulated enough extraordinary power, these historical followers would easily attain the level of power they deserved in the realm of the extraordinary.

Although Liang En wasn’t entirely sure what Elizabeth and Marie would be like after acquiring extraordinary power, the information he inherited suggested that Jeanne should be one of the strongest heroic spirits under the divine.

According to the knowledge he possessed, a being like Jeanne could resurrect the dead, heal the most severe injuries to their original state, or even cause demons to burst into flames with just a glance.

In terms of combat, besides melee, she could manipulate a flame-like substance condensed from holy light to cause explosions, useful in group battles.

In defense, she would be unaffected by any attack below the level of another extraordinary being, and she could sanctify her weapons and equipment, doubling or even tripling their lethality against all evil entities.

Moreover, she was almost entirely immune to the corruption of various evil forces, naturally making her the nemesis of all things wicked.

This transformation would also include some changes in appearance, such as Jeanne being able to manifest angelic wings, allowing her to deliver righteous death from above.

"Why is there such a huge difference between all of us historical followers?" Marie asked somewhat gloomily after Liang En finished sharing his information.

Although she could also acquire extraordinary power, including many combat-related skills, she felt that even ten of her wouldn’t be able to defeat Jeanne in a fight.

"Because you're fundamentally different from each other," Liang En said as he looked at the curious Marie. "Jeanne did many things beyond the limits of humanity before becoming a holy spirit, things you definitely haven't done."

"To become a holy spirit, one must be innocent, pure, uncorrupted, forgiving when needed, vigilant, merciful to the weak, ruthless to the guilty, compassionate, generous, selfless, humble, courageous, brave, and just."

"That's just the behavioral requirement. On a spiritual level, this requires absolute purity of soul, purity that even rivals that of a deity—something extremely difficult for mortals to achieve—"

"Alright, I don’t think you need to say more. It’s only natural that the holy maiden should have these powers," Marie interrupted with a somewhat helpless wave of her hand.

She knew herself well. Although she wasn’t a cruel and evil person in life, she also couldn’t be considered a good person, and she certainly couldn’t compare to a saint like Jeanne.

So when it came to these matters and their relation to extraordinary power, Marie felt that just being able to acquire extraordinary power was already quite good, and she shouldn’t ask for more.

Of course, from the perspective of sheer extraordinary power, if someone were truly rotten to the core, their extraordinary power would naturally be strong as well. However, considering Liang En's allegiance, it was impossible for him to summon that kind of historical follower.

Due to the use of the spatial gates, Liang En and his team were a bit too greedy, resulting in stomach discomfort. The next focus naturally became enhancing their extraordinary intelligence, and thanks to Liang En's mastery of spatial movement skills, they were able to complete these tasks smoothly.

However, just as their focus was shifting, Mr. Charles, the president of the Golden Dawn, suddenly approached, hoping to exchange for the mithril plate that had been previously awarded as a prize.

"Sorry, Dr. Liang, but that mithril plate is extremely important to us. We’ve confirmed that it’s a true extraordinary item," said Mr. Charles.

"A true extraordinary item?" Liang En showed a thoughtful expression. To be honest, the plate’s value mainly lay in the information it contained, so after reading the information, it was just a mithril plate to him.

Although mithril was considered a precious extraordinary metal, for Liang En, who could convert between the extraordinary and the mundane, it was far from being considered precious.

Given that he was the only one capable of reading the extraordinary power from that silver plate, Liang En felt that giving it to the Golden Dawn was an entirely acceptable option, provided he received sufficient compensation in return.

After all, the plate was a reward for his significant contribution in defeating the Thule Society, so the Golden Dawn needed to pay a sufficient price.

"Don’t worry, I have many items on hand that I can trade with you," Mr. Charles smiled and then pulled a USB drive out of his briefcase.

"Thanks to your assistance, we’ve completely destroyed the Thule Society, gaining a lot of spoils. The items on this USB drive are partly your share of the spoils and partly for trading the silver plate."

"The Thule Society was wiped out!" Liang En exclaimed in surprise as he inserted the USB drive into his computer. "I thought we only destroyed the group they sent to Turkey."

"But that was their last elite force," Mr. Charles said as he wiped his glasses. "It even included the leader of the Thule Society."

This was indeed surprising, but on second thought, it wasn’t impossible. After Liang En and his team had cornered them, the Thule Society had suffered heavy losses from repeated attacks and now faced a life-and-death crisis, so it was reasonable for them to gamble everything they had left.

As for why Liang En and his team hadn’t received any information about this earlier, the reason was simple. Even after being weakened repeatedly, the core members of the Thule Society still maintained their combat effectiveness, so their security was tight.

More importantly, the Thule Society's unique layer-upon-layer confidentiality measures made it extremely difficult for outsiders to understand the full picture. Even after capturing Thule Society members, Liang En and his team couldn’t identify their roles.

"We never imagined that the person who appeared to be Speer's assistant was actually the true leader of the Thule Society, nor did we expect him to be the first to talk," Mr. Charles revealed.

"And after we broke through at that point, we finally got the chance to deliver the final blow to the Thule Society. Unfortunately, these people had been targeted long before, so at best, we only obtained one-third of the spoils."
