Chapter 1: The First World (1)

Shi Qing’s task was to be a protector.

It was only after transmigrating to various worlds and eagerly counterattacking the villains there that he realized he was the biggest villain out of everyone.

– A king that liked to conquer other worlds

– A Film Emperor that had a malicious personality

– A Blackened Young Master with deviant intentions

– A Schoolyard Bully that was overbearing to others

Afterwards the gong that initially despised Shi Qing discovered:

– The Machine King that seemed like an invader was really a million-year-old baby

– The Film Emperor that seemed malicious was secretly helping upcoming actors

– The Young Master that seemed to harbor deviant intentions was a pure-hearted young boy

– The Schoolyard Bully that seemed overbearing was secretly in love

In the end….

The entire world: He’s such a good person!

---------------------------

 "Drip, drip."

Shi Qing stood by the sickbed, looking at the person lying on it. The person had a very good appearance, but unfortunately, their face was pale, and their body was almost covered in medical equipment. The doctors were sweating profusely while trying to save them.

Meanwhile, the sound representing the countdown of life continued to ring in Shi Qing's ears. There was also a nagging voice beside him, saying, "Host, won't you agree to do the mission for me? If you don't, you'll definitely die. It's very simple, just protect the Atmosphere Controller and make sure he follows his original path without arousing suspicion."

Watching Shi Qing, who seemed indifferent to his own rescue, the voice became anxious. "Host, please, accept the mission. After completing it, your body will come back to life."

Shi Qing: "I won't do it. I just want to die. Get lost."

The system was on the verge of tears. It had heard about hosts who eagerly accepted missions as soon as they were bound to the system, but it had never seen a host like Shi Qing, who was determined to wait for death.

It clenched its teeth, "I'll give you the ultimate cheat! You'll be unbeatable in every new world. How about that?"

Shi Qing: "Heh."

He pointed to his own bedridden self. "I'm already outstanding enough, as you can see."

The system was really about to cry. It had only heard of hosts who eagerly accepted missions as soon as they were bound, but it had never encountered a host like Shi Qing who just wanted to die.

It bit its lip, "I'll grant you the highest-level cheat! You'll be incredibly powerful in every world. Please, just accept the mission. It's super simple. At the very least, let me give you this golden finger, and you'll be amazing in every world, okay?"

Shi Qing: "Huh."

He looked at the small round ball on the bed. "Is that all?"

The system said, "Wuwuwu, my permissions are limited. Even this ultimate cheat will have consequences..."

Seeing that the system was no longer throwing out enticing offers and was just crying, Shi Qing finally believed that this was the best it could offer. He reached out his hand. "Fine, let's do it."

The system, still crying, replied, "Oh?"

Shi Qing looked down at the small round ball. "You said to do the mission, right? Let's go."

"Oh, oh, oh! Let's go!" The system was pleasantly surprised. The sudden turn of events had caught it off guard. It quickly flew into Shi Qing's hand, and they left this world together.

When they opened their eyes again, they were in the mission space. Shi Qing somehow knew that everything in this space was determined by the host. Within seconds, the mission space transformed into a sunny beach with a vast ocean.

Shi Qing, feeling quite comfortable, lounged on a beach chair with sunglasses on, sipping coconut juice through a straw.

Seeing his relaxed and contented expression, a thought suddenly crossed the system's mind. It timidly asked Shi Qing, "Host, when you refused earlier, were you trying to negotiate for better terms?"

Shi Qing took a sip of coconut juice and didn't deny it. "In the face of the unknown, it's only natural to ensure one's maximum benefit."

The system complained, "I've been so accommodating..."

"Even if you were accommodating, it wouldn't change the fact that we're in the same boat," Shi Qing said, pointing to the small round ball. "Don't worry, now I understand that we're both on the same ship. I won't do anything to you."

The system: ...

After being left in the dark for several days without knowing anything about the host, it was starting to doubt its existence.

But no matter how much it doubted, the mission had to be completed.

While comforting itself, the system also handed over the information about the first world to Shi Qing, who was now considered a high-ranking individual in this world.

The information was transmitted directly to his brain. Shi Qing raised an eyebrow but didn't seem too surprised by this futuristic method. He closed his eyes and carefully absorbed the information about the first world.

This world was originally a modern novel about fighting monsters and leveling up. The protagonist was Yin Mingzheng. It told the story of the Blue Star in the 21st century, a planet that was initially peaceful but suddenly exposed its coordinates to interstellar raiders. To these technologically advanced and aggressive raiders, the Blue Star, a planet with underdeveloped technology but a good ecological environment, was like an unclaimed treasure.

As a result, the raiders invaded in large numbers. With their superior technology and aggressive nature, they easily overwhelmed the ordinary citizens of the Blue Star, making it seem like adults dealing with infants. As more and more humans were killed, some began to awaken special abilities. Among them, Yin Mingzheng, the protagonist, was the most powerful. He had high combat and intellectual capabilities.

Yin Mingzheng established a base and joined forces with his friends, each with their unique abilities, to fight back. Following the outline of the novel, Yin Mingzheng was supposed to fight minor monsters every day and major ones every three days, leveling up continuously until finally defeating the invaders.

However, the novel was too realistic. Readers wished for it to become its own small world. In this small world, the raiders did not have the patience to wait for the protagonist to grow stronger. Instead, they constantly invaded the Blue Star.

The storyline had been altered, and the characters had developed their own personalities. After realizing that they couldn't defeat the top-level humans, the raiders resorted to sowing discord among the humans, fighting for power and wealth, without any intention of stopping. Yin Mingzheng, who was solely focused on saving humanity, became a thorn in the side of those who wanted power.

At the same time, new invaders appeared because the coordinates of the Blue Star were exposed again. According to world calculations, Yin Mingzheng would eventually perish along with the second wave of invaders. Without his protection, the first wave of invaders would easily conquer the Blue Star.

Shi Qing's mission was to protect Yin Mingzheng, the Atmosphere Controller, and ensure that he drove away the invaders while also surviving until the end.

The system, seeing Shi Qing open his eyes, knew that he had finished reviewing the information and quickly offered a reminder, "I will randomly place you in the bodies of significant individuals in this world, ensuring that you have a high status and influence. You can preview the plotlines of these important characters."

"Is there anything else, or is protecting the main character the only task?"

After a few days of interaction, Shi Qing knew that the system wouldn't lie to him, but he still found it unreliable.

As expected, the system hesitated and hurriedly said, "Yes, yes, there's more. Host, please pay attention. Because the small world revolves around the main character, any individuals who are disliked by the main character will also be rejected by the world's consciousness. This rejection won't affect the native inhabitants, but it will lead to the expulsion of mission participants. Once you're expelled, the mission will fail."

"For the first month in the small world, participants are in a protected phase. Even if the main character dislikes the host, the world's consciousness won't notice. However, after the protected phase, it becomes difficult. So, the host must establish a good relationship with the main character. The first mission failure will result in a deduction of points, and if you want to recover, it will be multiplied by ten."

"I understand," Shi Qing said, snapping his fingers, and a new coconut appeared in his hand.

He squinted his eyes, not particularly concerned about being rejected by the world.

In this small world, anyone significant had a good relationship with the main character. It didn't matter which character he became; the main character wouldn't reject him.

That was, if the system didn't mess things up.

The system continued babbling, "To prevent the host from being expelled without warning, the system provides a rejection level check. If the rejection level exceeds fifty percent, the host will be expelled from the small world by the world's consciousness. Please be cautious!"

"Alright, I'm about to begin the transfer. Host, remember to accept the original host's memories for an easier integration into the world. 3, 2, 1..."

A vast protective shield covered the civilian camp within the protected area. Mechanical robots, each nearly half the height of an adult, relentlessly attacked the shield with their weapons. From a distance, their numbers seemed countless, numbering in the billions, and they surrounded the already cracked shield, layers upon layers.

Inside the shield, countless civilians looked up in terror. Mothers held their children, husbands protected their wives, and children shielded their parents. Their eyes all held the same fear and despair.

Above these robots, there was an even larger mechanical spacecraft that dwarfed the entire protective shield. It was flipping over, aiming its cannons at the shield below.

A cold, synthesized voice repeated incessantly, "Humans, surrender Yin Mingzheng, or we will launch a full-scale attack in sixty seconds."

"Humans, surrender Yin Mingzheng, or we will launch a full-scale attack in fifty-nine seconds."

"Humans, surrender Yin Mingzheng, or we will launch a full-scale attack in fifty-seven seconds."

The countdown hung over the heads of these civilians like the scythe of death. They cried in despair, clinging to each other.

This was a threat.

Using the lives of a hundred thousand ordinary citizens to demand the surrender of Yin Mingzheng.

Everyone knew the fate of a human leader falling into the hands of invaders. No one dared to hope that Yin Mingzheng would sacrifice himself for them. They could only cry helplessly, waiting for the last second to arrive.

"Fifty-seven..."

"Fifty-six..."

"Fifty-five..."

Finally, when the countdown reached ten seconds, an aircraft flew in from a distance.

The massive mechanical spacecraft, large enough to obscure the sun, stopped broadcasting the countdown. It had received a signal from the approaching aircraft.

"We have brought Yin Mingzheng with us. Please release the hostages immediately."

Shi Qing, who had been sitting on the throne of the spacecraft for thirty seconds, lowered his eyes slightly and looked at the man who had been pushed off the plane. With his extraordinary vision, he could easily see Yin Mingzheng's handsome face and body that perfectly matched his aesthetic preferences. He also noticed Yin Mingzheng's powerless limbs and the hatred in his eyes.

Clearly, he had been drugged after being ambushed, rendering the human's top-tier esper completely immobile. He could only be thrown from the plane like an object.

As he directed a humanoid robot to pick up Yin Mingzheng, he continued to rapidly absorb the memories in his mind.

What the system said was absolutely correct. With his high status and influence, he could go wherever he pleased, and no one dared to provoke him.

Because he was the primary antagonist who had emerged from this self-contained small world, the leader of the second wave of invaders, the mechanical army's boss who would meet the same fate as Yin Mingzheng.

But who was this prestigious identity to the protagonist Yin Mingzheng?

Someone who had just arrived on the Blue Star and used the lives of a hundred thousand human beings as a threat to force humans to give him up...

—The invaders.
