"The car ahead suddenly pulled over. Is this the destination?" As they drove near a building, the car in front abruptly stopped at the roadside. Liang En curiously asked upon seeing this.
"No, this is likely an anti-surveillance tactic by the other side." Officer Jeanne, driving the car, explained while keeping an eye on the car behind them. "If they see any car stopping or slowing down, they'll know they're being followed."
"These guys are really cunning, but they definitely didn't expect my backup plan." As he spoke, Liang En whistled, and Officer Burke, sitting in the back, saw a raven flying high in the sky.
"My ravens can track their movements from above, marking their position. As long as they keep driving, we can lock onto their location."
With the ravens tracking them from above, Officer Burke decisively instructed Jeanne to drive ahead and then turn into a small alley.
Just as they had predicted, after hiding in the alley for two minutes, the car started again, heading in a different direction.
Interestingly, the three ravens split into two groups. Two flew faster, seemingly following the car, while the third circled above the street.
"The group split into two. One group drove off, but they took the chance to drop someone off." Liang En observed the situation through the ravens.
The adversary seemed to understand that if the police were following them, they'd be wary of anti-surveillance tactics. So, they used this opportunity to separate important personnel from the vehicle.
It was a smart move. If the police weren't conducting large-scale surveillance, the adversary could easily slip away. However, they didn't anticipate eyes in the sky watching them.
Realizing this, Liang En and his team also split into two groups. Jeanne and Fan Meng each drove a car to follow the vehicle, while Liang En, Joan of Arc, and Officer Burke, guided by the ravens, entered an old residential area.
Due to changes over time, the area was now inhabited by Czech people from all over the country seeking a living in the capital, making it somewhat chaotic.
For Liang En and his team, this was advantageous, as strangers wouldn't stand out and their presence wouldn't alert the target.
With the ravens tracking, they quickly located the room in a building where the adversary was hiding. Liang En then equipped one of the ravens with a miniature camera for reconnaissance.
The camera, small enough for a raven to carry, had a limited transmission range, making it useful only for scouting fixed targets.
"Can you see if any of these people are our targets?" Liang En connected his phone to the camera and displayed the images.
"Let me see." Officer Burke took the phone and examined the footage. Since the adversaries hadn't anticipated animals being so well-trained, they hadn't drawn the curtains, making it easy for Liang En's team to capture images.
"I found him." Officer Burke pointed to a brown-haired middle-aged man on the screen. "This is the guy who escaped during the assassination in Athens and is likely behind the assassination of the Golden Society's president."
"So, what do we do next? Arrest them directly?" Unfamiliar with police procedures, Liang En asked.
"Of course, we call for backup. There are five or six people inside. The three of us can't handle it alone, especially since two of you aren't officers. I can't take civilians into such a dangerous situation." Officer Burke smiled.
"I've already obtained a specific arrest warrant, so we can notify the local police to send enough personnel for the arrest."
"Didn't you say the police here in Eastern Europe aren't reliable?" Liang En asked, curious.
"You're right, but this is our procedure." Officer Burke shrugged. "I suggest you prepare any weapons you have to avoid harm if the suspects resist."
"Can I use weapons in this situation?" Liang En was puzzled, knowing that while he could legally own weapons and use them in emergencies, proactively using them seemed unlikely to be permitted.
"You don't need to use them proactively." Officer Burke shrugged. "Just have them ready nearby—"
"I see, it's not about being proactive but being prepared." Liang En quickly understood what the officer meant.
In theory, they just needed to prepare, and the rest could be left to the Czech police. The combat readiness was just a precaution.
Oddly, within five minutes, the people in the room started packing up to leave, while the police hadn't arrived yet.
"Damn, there's a mole in the local police." Officer Burke realized this from the raven's camera footage.
"We need to arrest them now, or they'll escape before the police arrive. But I can't do it alone, so I need your help."
"No problem, give us a minute to prepare." Liang En, understanding the urgency from the footage, signaled for Burke to wait while he and Joan of Arc prepared.
They quickly armed themselves with weapons from a small bag. After acquiring a security company, Liang En had obtained permits for Joan of Arc to carry a handgun as a security staff member.
In less than a minute, they were armed and ready for action, nodding to Officer Burke to begin.
They didn't follow Burke to the room's door but instead positioned themselves at the stairwell corner, five or six meters away, ready to support.
To ensure safety, Liang En also activated his [Blood Detection (R)] card to locate the five people in the room, preparing to use the [Blood Manipulation (SR)] card if necessary.
He trusted Officer Burke and didn't want to see his partner in danger, so he didn't mind using a bit of his power to ensure his friend's safety.
