Chapter 478: The Thule Society

The Golden Dawn possessed substantial information about the Thule Society, primarily because both organizations delved into the mystical forces. However, the fundamental theories they each adhered to were starkly different, which had led to several conflicts in the past.

These conflicts were not the simple clashes one might imagine; internal documents from the Golden Dawn revealed that both sides had suffered casualties.

Of course, the casualties mainly involved frontline operatives, not core members like Liang En. Nonetheless, this revealed the true nature of the relationship between the two groups.

For this reason, the Golden Dawn had amassed extensive data on the Thule Society. So, when Liang En merely mentioned it, the Golden Dawn sent over 20 gigabytes of information about the Thule Society.

The Golden Dawn also reassured Liang En not to worry about exacerbating hostilities with the Thule Society; given their deep-seated enmity, a little more hatred wouldn't make much difference.

They didn't hesitate to share this information with the police, even encouraging this approach. They believed that it was better to let others help eliminate these enemies than to confront them directly.

"Are you suggesting that this is an organization created by the remnants of the radical faction?" After receiving confirmation, Liang En immediately sent the data to Officer Burke and shared his theory.

Officer Burke took this theory seriously, as it could offer a new direction for his investigation, which had reached a dead end.

"Alright, I'll send this information to our headquarters now. We couldn't find any leads before, but now I think we might be able to trace them."

"Good luck then!" Liang En smiled, then he and Officer Burke walked out of the hotel and watched as Burke drove away.

For Officer Burke, this new information was crucial, so he had to deliver it to the INTERPOL division in Greece as soon as possible.

Because the exposition had ended, Pierce flew back to the UK with a lot of luggage the next day, while Liang En, Joan of Arc, and Fan Meng stayed in Athens.

This was prearranged with Officer Burke, who seemed to have made some progress thanks to Liang En's tip, prompting a request for Liang En to stay a few more days to assist.

Fortunately, those days were not wasted. The trio took the opportunity to explore Athens extensively. As the capital and a major tourist destination of Greece, the city had much to offer.

Whether it was the majestic Acropolis, the bustling Syntagma Square, or the charming Plaka district, they found their stay fulfilling.

But the highlight was the National Archaeological Museum of Athens. Upon entering, they were greeted with a large poster announcing a Cretan artifacts exhibition.

These artifacts had been excavated from the Minoan Palace, which Liang En had discovered. Although there was a plan to build a museum next to the site to house these artifacts, they were temporarily stored in Athens for safety reasons.

Given the lack of comprehensive facilities and questionable security elsewhere in Greece, it was decided to store the artifacts in the national museum.

Since many artifacts had already been excavated and restored, the museum decided to host a long-term temporary exhibition. Just inside the exhibition hall, Liang En saw a large portrait of himself posted on the wall.

The Greeks had done this because Liang En was not only the discoverer of the site but had also promptly notified the Greek archaeological authorities, preventing the loss of these artifacts.

Although Greece could not offer much financially to honor his actions, they certainly spared no effort in promoting a positive image, ensuring that Liang En did not feel undervalued.

However, this led to Liang En being recognized by tourists shortly after his arrival, who requested photos and autographs. This gathering drew the museum's attention.

Half an hour later, a small promotional event was held at the entrance of the exhibition hall, where Liang En gave a brief speech.

The speech focused on the importance of archaeology and history to humanity and strongly condemned illegal artifact looting and trafficking.

This was a point the museum director had specifically requested to be included, as Greece, despite its rich ancient heritage, is one of the poorer countries in Europe and a major victim of artifact loss globally.

Liang En agreed with this, partly because, as a Chinese, the history of China made him inherently detest the theft or plunder of artifacts.

Moreover, if Liang En unearthed artifacts, he would receive new cards, but if the artifacts had been tampered with by tomb raiders, he would get nothing.

As they returned from the museum, they found Officer Burke waiting at their hotel's entrance. After a brief greeting, they all went back to their room, where Burke took some documents out of his briefcase and handed them to Liang En.

"Thanks to your tip, we got some information from the local police division responsible for cults and dangerous organizations, and then we raided a Thule Society hideout here in Athens."

Officer Burke began to

explain the police actions over the past few days as Liang En opened the folder and reviewed the documents copied from the police station.

"During the raid, the suspects opened fire on the police. Fortunately, our special counter-terrorism team was on the scene, so only two officers were injured while they killed two resisters and captured another, seizing numerous documents before they could be destroyed."

"We've confirmed that one of the individuals killed during the resistance was the same murderer who committed the hotel homicide. We also learned that the murder was to erase traces of some transactions between the Thule Society and the Golden Dawn and to obtain something."

"But you probably don't know what that something is—" Liang En looked up after reviewing the documents and closed the folder. "That's why you've come to me now."

"Yes, we're a step too late. A courier for the Thule Society took that item a few hours earlier," Officer Burke sighed.

"We learned from interrogating the captured that the item is a folder, supposedly collected by the British National Archives, but we don't have the folder number, and the National Archives won't admit they've lost any documents—"

"Leave that to me," Liang En raised his hand in assurance and then walked out to the balcony to contact the Golden Dawn, as their status made it easier for them to investigate.
