Chapter 128: The Seven Streams - Part 2

Most of the time, he didn't use this knife much because cleaning up afterward would be troublesome.

But given the urgency of the situation, Bai Qiushi couldn't afford to think too much. After all, accompanying him on this mission were Harbingers specializing in healing and support, with limited combat abilities and self-defense. If he were to die here, headquarters would go berserk.

Raising his hand, Bai Qiushi conjured a makeshift wall of earth on the ground, enclosing the pollutants within a makeshift pen spanning several kilometers.

This was a variation of his spatial talent, Talent 89 - Barrier.

In his hand, the slender knife unfolded like a lotus flower, its blade splitting into countless sharp needles, the stingers of the Pollutant Hornets. Bai Qiushi had been stung all over by these needles before, covered in blisters.

His liaison officer had complained many times, telling him it was so "edgy" to name his moves during fights, especially since most pollutants couldn't understand.

But Bai Qiushi's lips curled up as he slowly uttered four words: "Storm, Rain, Pear, Flower!"

Petals of the knife, resembling lotus flowers, shot out one after another, splitting in mid-air into steel needles.

These needles, like bullets, pierced through the bodies of the pollutants, blossoming into misty blood flowers.

However, not all pollutants were penetrated by the stingers.

High-level pollutants showed streaks of blood on their bodies, emitting suppressed roars. They struggled to jump up, attempting to pounce on Bai Qiushi.

On this mission, he hadn't had time to put on his elevated shoes for convenience, making him look petite.

Bai Qiushi raised his hand, and instantly, the small stones on the ground floated up with it.

His palm flipped in an instant, pressing down forcefully, and from between his teeth squeezed out a sentence: "Still, as a mountain!"

Talent 392 - Heavy Pressure.

Many low-level butchers were instantly crushed into pulp in that moment. Organs squeezed out of their mouths, flattened like thin slices.

As for the high-level butchers, they felt as if a mountain was firmly pressing down on them.

They struggled to move under this immense pressure, but Bai Qiushi had already spread his wings and, wielding the Cicada Wing knife, dashed forward like a gust of wind.

The Cicada Wing effortlessly slit the throats of the butchers.

Soon, there was no longer a single roar of a pollutant heard in the area.

Using his talent to its fullest felt exhilarating, but the aftermath was indeed terrifying.

Bai Qiushi's eye sockets faintly revealed a third eyeball.

Cicadas have five eyes, with two large compound eyes containing three smaller ones arranged in a triangular pattern.

Headquarters could predict the extent of his mutation based on the changes in Bai Qiushi's eyes.

Normally, he had two pairs of eyeballs, but if a third pair appeared, it would be a dangerous signal.

Bai Qiushi took out the special medicine from his pocket and gulped down two bottles in one go.

He covered half of his eye with his hand, the eyeball swelling with pain. Finally, he silently flapped the wings on his back, seeking his companions.

In addition to ordinary butchers, the slaughterhouse also housed S-level pollutants like Lu Zhi and 01.

Unless he encountered Tang Xunan alone, Bai Qiushi wouldn't stand a chance.

---

Odin walked along the deserted streets, though devoid of any human presence, he knew that many pollutants were lurking in the shadows.

He tightened his grip on the long spear in his hand, known as Frost. When necessary, it could serve as his cane.

The crow perched on his shoulder cawed twice, circling and then flying away.

Odin murmured softly, "Go."

Talent 119 - Plague.

These crows were messengers of the plague. When facing biochemical pollutants, they often played an unexpectedly vital role.

There probably wouldn't be any doctors in the slaughterhouse to treat swine fever.

The crows were a part of Odin, and in fact, beneath his heavy armor, at least forty percent of his flesh and blood were missing. Especially on his chest, there was a crack visible where his heart should be.

A black heart pulsated in his chest.

One crow after another flew out from the crack in his chest, flapping vigorously.

After these crows flew out, Odin fastened his armor again, looking particularly gaunt.

If not for these heavy clothes, a gust of wind could probably blow him away.

---

01 looked at the black crows descending from the sky.

This crow had bright red eyes and swooped down towards him.

He raised his hand and grabbed the bird's head. The crow burst in his hand, but there was no blood, only a shriveled mass of flesh.

Quickly, a bluish-black color spread over the palm of the hunter's hand, creeping up from his hand to his arm.

01 squinted and chuckled.

He directly used his knife to sever the entire arm.

Talent 29 - Phoenix.

At the smooth wound, red meat tendrils sprouted, as if minced meat was being squeezed out of a meat grinder.

These tendrils continued to spread forward, quickly twisting into a ball and interweaving into the shape of an arm.

New skin appeared on 01's muscles. The newly grown arm was slightly different in color from the original skin, but it was by no means frail.

With the Phoenix talent, even death was difficult for 01.

As for the severed limb that fell to the ground, it slowly turned black.

Soon, this severed limb dissolved into a pool of putrid water.

"Indeed, humans have injured our strength, but that's all. They fear mutation, dare not exert their full strength, and do not understand that Harbingers are just an evolutionary transition, and the pollutants are the ultimate form," 01 said leisurely to his companion, 07. "Let's go, it's time to find the other children. Number 3, 5, 6... or maybe 10."

07 looked down at the scorched ground, unable to give a vivid response.

He couldn't control the flames engulfing his body. So much so that getting close to him might result in being burned.

But 01 didn't mind. He reached out and patted 07's shoulder, his palm melting a layer of flesh.

Gu Zheng smiled, "It's too late to go, if you get hurt by the butchers in the slaughterhouse, I'll feel sorry. After all, they are our family. Right, Number 7?"

07 replied slowly, "Yes."
