Still confined separately, Fu Shiwu was directly detained with Ma Dong.
Looking at Ma Dong, who was injured, Fu Shiwu asked, "How are your injuries?"
Ma Dong grimaced, moving his arm gingerly, and said, "I'm okay, just some superficial wounds. But Tang Xuhai, is he alright?"
Fu Shiwu's gaze flickered, firmly stating, "He must be okay."
He seemed to be convincing the other person as well as himself.
Ma Dong couldn't help but ask, "Are we going to die?"
Fu Shiwu sighed and said, "We don't know yet. There's still a chance we can survive."
Tang Xuhai's injuries were uncertain, and Horn Ting was out of water and without his gun, decreasing their chances from one in five to one in ten.
Horn Ting was confined with Wen Zhaoming, most concerned about the bomb on Wen Zhaoming. Given the situation, survival for Wen Zhaoming seemed impossible. Why bother telling him about Tang Xuhai's plan?
Shi Zheng held a paper from surveillance based information, tapping it lightly. "They're not giving up, huh?"
Jiang Hao replied, "Some people won't give up until they see a coffin."
Shi Zheng remained noncommittal, instructing Jiang Hao, "Don't relax just because the cover temporarily disappeared. Even after causing chaos all day, they should remain vigilant. Tonight, everyone should take shifts at various posts, no one's allowed to sleep!"
Jiang Hao didn't plead for the gang members who caused a commotion from noon until dusk; they needed to understand the boss's strength.
Shi Zheng watched the darkening sky outside. Even without support from the military survival base, he wouldn't let his guard down.
"But that mutant cow's meat is actually quite good. I should have them search in that direction in the future," Shi Zheng thought to himself. "Even if it's not mutant beef, mutated beef should be tastier than regular beef."
No one relaxed that night; all members of the Wolf Gang remained vigilant.
Fu Shiwu kept glancing outside while a drowsy Ma Dong yawned, "What are you looking at?"
"Aliens," Fu Shiwu uttered two words, startling Ma Dong.
"Aliens?" Ma Dong stood by Fu Shiwu, trying to peer out the window, but it was too high.
"They should appear again tonight. Look, the canopy is coming," Fu Shiwu's gaze gradually tinted with a faint red at the horizon's edge.
24 hours later, the canopy once again enveloped the land of Huaxia.
And just as promised, the aliens descended, scattered across every city.
Pingnan City was no exception.
Shi Zheng was indeed formidable. Using bait, he killed both evolved and normal aliens, leaving Pingnan City eerily silent. This perplexed the aliens that landed in Pingnan City, wandering aimlessly.
However, some aliens landed close to the Pingnan Prison. The only light nearby immediately drew their attention.
"A sharp screech—" echoed, followed by more faint cries.
Tang Xuhai stood up, his huge sword hitting the ground, standing sternly in the center of the cell.
Fu Shiwu's eyes shifted. "They're here!"
Ma Dong, anxious, looked at his face. "What's coming? Aliens?"
"Ma Dong! Use your power to turn the cement under the fence into sand!" Fu Shiwu commanded firmly.
Startled by his authoritative tone, Ma Dong's mind went blank. By the time he came to, he was already running with Fu Shiwu in the corridor outside the cell.
"Fu, where are we going?" Ma Dong yelled in fear.
"To save people!"
Shi Zheng making Ma Dong and Fu Shiwu cellmates was clearly a mistake. If it was just Fu Shiwu alone, he wouldn't know how to escape from the cell.
"Do you... do you know where they are?!" Ma Dong yelled as he chased after Fu Shiwu.
"I do!" Fu Shiwu said resolutely.
His sensing ability covered half the town. Even if the prison was vast, it wasn't as large as half the town.
Using his sensing ability, Fu Shiwu looked through the floors. He could find Tang Xuhai for sure!
Tang Xuhai wasn't detained in the same building as them. Though Fu Shiwu didn't see him, he found others.
"To the second floor!" Fu Shiwu rushed out following the collapsed cell door caused by Ma Dong and descended the stairs.
Ma Dong hesitated to follow. He couldn't comprehend Fu Shiwu's intentions. With so many enemies outside, how could they rescue anyone?
"Ma Dong!" Fu Shiwu's sharp eyes pierced Ma Dong's hesitation. Sternly, he said, "Don't hesitate, or you'll only jeopardize yourself!"
Gritting his teeth, Ma Dong had no choice but to trust him for now!
"Okay!" Ma Dong followed him to the second floor.
"Don't worry! There are no enemies on this floor! You just need to collapse these cell doors. Don't worry about anything else!" Fu Shiwu urged Ma Dong into action.
"Okay." Ma Dong nodded, feeling relieved; while he didn't know much else, turning the ground into sand was something he was extremely skilled at.
One by one, the cell doors fell.
"Miao Jia! Liu Peiqi!" Fu Shiwu rushed over.
Miao Jia jumped in surprise, "Fu, quick!"
"Hurry! This is not the time to chat!" Fu Shiwu urged.
Without a word, Liu Peiqi followed him.
It seemed as though someone was guiding Fu Shiwu, as one by one, he miraculously found Wang Dan, Olande, Liu Zhao, and Wu Shan.
"Kept Kept and Horn Ting are at the end of the corridor on the stairs. Let's go save them now," Fu Shiwu said calmly.
Initially, the commotion couldn't go unnoticed, but this time, due to the unexpectedly powerful aliens from the canopy, they continuously called out to other aliens, gradually forming a wave of them.
The guards inside the prison's posts had also been moved, allowing Fu Shiwu's rescue operation to proceed unhindered.
The commotion caused by the running people was not subtle. There were still other people confined on the second floor. Upon seeing them run, some timidly hid in corners, while others warily dodged.
"Kept Kept!" Fu Shiwu couldn't wait for Ma Dong to turn the unstable cell door to collapse it himself.
Wen Zhaoming's eyes lit up at the sight of him but dimmed shortly after. "You've escaped, good. Horn Ting, let's leave together, don't mind me."
"No. I won't leave you behind; come with us," Fu Shiwu insisted.
Miao Jia even rushed over and grabbed his arm.
"I can't leave! I'm disabled! How can I go with you?" Wen Zhaoming burst out, "Please! Leave me behind."
Fu Shiwu was stunned, momentarily silent.
"I can't walk, but someone can carry you. I won't leave you behind," Fu Shiwu said sternly, bending
down to pull him onto his back.
Startled, Wen Zhaoming hurriedly pushed his shoulders. "Are you crazy? I have a bomb on me!"
"This bomb isn't fragile, and carrying you won't trigger it," Fu Shiwu persisted.
Wen Zhaoming was defeated. Softening his tone, he said, "Don't carry me. If there's a wheelchair or prosthetic, I can walk with you. I'll wait here for you."
"I know where your prosthetic is!" Miao Jia hurriedly said, "It's in the neighboring building!"
Fu Shiwu, still worried, glanced at Wen Zhaoming. "Okay, we'll go find it. You wait here."
Fu Shiwu turned and said, "Ma Dong, stay here with him. If someone comes, turn the floor of the corridor outside into sand, they won't be able to come over."
His command was unquestionable, and Ma Dong could only nod.
Fu Shiwu led the others away. "Where's our modified car?"
"In front of their boss's door," Wang Dan replied.
"That boss is a power-type evolved being," Fu Shiwu pondered. He turned to look at the people behind him.
Liu Peiqi had no seeds, Horn Ting was out of water, and the others could handle mutated beings but not evolved ones.
If only they had guns.
Fu Shiwu's eyes gleamed, focusing on the mental image in his mind.
He still needed someone to go and seize it. Fu Shiwu sighed; he couldn't see the person who took his gun during the day.
He was truly weak.
