However weak one might be, even when unarmed, they must get hold of a gun, even if it means scratching, biting, or using whatever means necessary!

With this desperate thought in mind, Fu Shiwu, full of determination, rushed towards the outside of the building.

"Let me out! Please, let me out!!!" Suddenly, a cool female voice rang out as he was about to reach the door.

"Huh?" Fu Shiwu couldn't help but feel surprised.

There were others locked inside the building. Seeing them all evading, she was the first to seek help.

Fu Shiwu followed the voice.

It was a young girl.

Fu Shiwu couldn't make out her appearance, her face was smudged, covered in dirt, her hair uneven as if chewed by a dog.

"Are you asking for help?" Fu Shiwu looked at the unidentified girl.

This girl was different from anyone he had encountered since the apocalypse, leaving Fu Shiwu puzzled.

Then it struck him—her intense will to survive burned brighter than the anxious, hopeless people he had encountered before!

"It's me! Please! Let me out!" The girl extended her bony, dirt-smudged hand towards Fu Shiwu, shouting.

Her voice shook Fu Shiwu. He nodded and said, "Don't worry, I'll get you out."

Then he hesitated. The cell door was reinforced. What if Ma Dong wasn't around to help him open it?

Just then, Ma Dong arrived.

"Mr. Fu." Ma Dong jogged up to him, looking worried.

"How did you come down here?" Fu Shiwu was surprised.

"Mr. Wen asked me to join you because my sand-based ability might be of use. Even though he can't move, he has a bomb on him. Being a fire-based esper, even if he encounters Shi Zheng's people, they wouldn't dare touch him," Ma Dong explained. "Mr. Wen thinks it's a reasonable decision."

Fu Shiwu thought it made sense. He nodded. "You've come at the right time. Break down this door."

Immediately following his instructions, Ma Dong toppled the cell door holding the girl.

"Thank you!" The girl stepped out of the cell, looked at Fu Shiwu resolutely, then bowed deeply. "Thank you for letting me out. I owe you a debt I can only repay in the next life."

Fu Shiwu mumbled words of no need for thanks but found her words troubling.

With that said, the girl rushed out, catching everyone off guard.

"What's wrong with her?" Miao Jia stared dumbfounded at her retreating figure.

"I don't know. Let's follow!" Fu Shiwu wasted no time and chased after her.

As soon as they reached the door, they saw the girl running frantically, screaming hoarsely, "Shi Zheng, you bastard! I'll fight you!!!"

Her voice pierced the sky, immediately drawing the attention of the Wild Wolf Gang members guarding against the outer alien creatures.

While Fu Shiwu's group was baffled, the gang members reacted ferociously, charging towards her. "You damn woman, who do you think you are, insulting our leader?!"

Some held axes, others knives. It seemed the girl was about to be attacked before Fu Shiwu's team could intervene.

"Ahhhh!!!" A sharp scream erupted from the girl's throat. Visible ripples in the air spread out, and a shockwave struck the Wild Wolf Gang members rushing towards her, sending them staggering with bleeding noses and mouths.

"Wow!!!" Miao Jia widened his eyes in astonishment.

"Sonic boom?" Fu Shiwu was also surprised, seeing the girl standing alone while a fan-shaped group of men lay in a bloody mess in front of her.

"Amazing!" Wang Dan exclaimed, admiring the frail-looking girl.

Nobody expected this disheveled girl, previously locked up, to be an esper with sound-based abilities. They stood there, shocked.

However, the gang members seemed to be aware. Undeterred by their bleeding noses, they continued charging at the girl.

The girl hesitated for a moment, despair evident on her face. Was this it? Was she going to die this time for sure?

Fu Shiwu acted swiftly, shouting, "Charge!"

Wang Dan and Olande leaped forward, Liu Zhao and Wu Shan grabbed bricks from a flower bed and rushed in howling.

Fu Shiwu's heart raced, his eyes fixed on the impending clash. The man with a knife in hand swung at him.

In a split second, the man's shadow elongated, marked by a trajectory. Fu Shiwu, skilled in close combat, sighed in relief as he swiftly dodged, darting past the man's left side.

Before the man could register what happened, his knife was out of his hand.

Seeing her comrades charging in, the girl regained her composure, clawing at the faces of the Wild Wolf Gang's mutants.

Wang Dan laughed, "Scratching won't do much! Use your sonic boom on them!"

The girl blinked and said, "These mutants have strong resistance. Sonic waves won't disorient them."

Wang Dan urgently advised, "Don't face them all at once, focus on one!" Her mouth spoke while her hands, already a combat coach, combined with the post-apocalyptic enhancements in her body, made her strikes stronger and faster.

Most of the Wild Wolf Gang members she fought were thugs, swiftly taken down by her.

Her kicks, elbow strikes, knee strikes, and defensive moves were relentless, impressing Miao Jia immensely.

He wanted to scream, "Sister!" and rush to hug her legs, but ever since Tang Xuhai kicked him, he had developed a psychological shadow and dared not casually cling to people's legs.

Reminded by Wang Dan, the disheveled girl grew troubled. Her ability emerged inexplicably, and she only knew how to use it in the way she discovered initially. Focusing her attacks was challenging.

The girl stared fixedly at the Wild Wolf Gang members running towards her, murmuring repeatedly, "One at a time… one at a time… I want them one at a time. Ah—"

"Phew!" Unluckily, the poor soul who ran directly at her spurted a stream of blood, eyes popping out of their sockets, and collapsed in a horrifying state.

Disgusted for a moment, the girl then clenched her fist in excitement. "Got it!" she exclaimed, glaring at the high wall of the prison. "Shi Zheng, you son of a b****! I'll make sure to kill you!!"

Then, without hesitation, she stepped towards the high wall, running.

Fu Shiwu, having knocked out one with a knife handle, watched as the girl shouted and fled.

"Wang Dan! Stop her!" he ordered.

Wang Dan rushed forward and tightly embraced the girl.

"Let me go! Let me go—!" Hatred filled the girl's eyes as she fiercely gripped Wang Dan's arm.

Though her arm was marked with blood, Wang Dan endured, not making a sound or letting go.

Miao Jia rushed over, holding the girl, and shouted, "You can't handle him alone! There are other espers with him!"

Fu Shiwu joined them, speaking calmly to

her, "You going up there now means certain death. Join us instead. The chances of killing Shi Zheng are higher together."

The girl struggled for a while, realizing she couldn't break free, and finally calmed down.

Seeing her calm, Fu Shiwu reiterated his earlier words, and seeing she seemed to take it in, signaled Wang Dan and Miao Jia to release her. She didn't attempt to run again.

Fu Shiwu didn't say more. Perhaps this girl had deep grievances with Shi Zheng, but this wasn't the time for detailed inquiries.

Fortunately, the girl had helped them kill numerous Wild Wolf Gang members, allowing Fu Shiwu and his team smooth passage to the adjacent building.

Fu Shiwu swiftly scanned with his perceptual ability and soon found Wen Zhaoming's prosthetic limb discarded in a room. This room was likely where they brought him when planting the bomb. Besides the prosthetic, he didn't spot anything else.

"Miao Jia, take this prosthetic to Zhaoming," Fu Shiwu instructed after a moment of thought.

"Okay," Miao Jia nodded.

Still worried, Fu Shiwu decided to send Liu Zhao and Wu Shan to assist in bringing Wen Zhaoming over.

Fu Shiwu searched around but couldn't find Tang Xuhai in that room. He started heading towards other buildings.

In his perception, a small warehouse appeared ahead. Fu Shiwu's eyes lit up, as the messy space was filled with guns.

Shi Zheng had control over most of the resources in Pingnan City. To combat the aliens, he often used espers and mutants as bait. This arsenal of firearms and weapons, gathered and stored, was placed in this small warehouse.

In a building next to the warehouse, he spotted Tang Xuhai. He was wielding a huge sword, piercing through the wall, killing the guards outside, and heading towards the building's entrance.

Fu Shiwu felt a surge of joy but hesitated. Finally, he clenched his teeth and told Liu Peiqi, "Go to the entrance of the building next door and wait for Tang Xuhai. When he comes out, inform him to come here."

Liu Peiqi hurried away as Fu Shiwu kicked open the small warehouse's door, turning to say, "Wang Dan, Olande, grab some guns."

With that, he also entered the cluttered arsenal, grabbing a handgun and loading a magazine.

Wen Zhaoming gazed outside, forcefully tossing the bomb away.

"Boom!!!" A fierce explosion shook the cell, half of it obliterated.

"Where did that explosion come from?!" Fu Shiwu was startled.

"Hmm, it seems to have come from the building we just left," Horn Ting uncertainly observed.

In an instant, a foreboding feeling washed over Fu Shiwu. He remembered Wen Zhaoming asking for the prosthetic, the girl thanking him similarly, a strange similarity in their overly calm demeanor.

"This is bad!" Fu Shiwu sprinted towards that building.

Wen Zhaoming was about to do something stupid!
