Prince Ping was only thinking that outside the Cloud City, there was only a national road, but he never considered that Tang Xuhai would decide not to take the national road and instead take the road. In the current era of widespread expressways in Huaxia, most people would choose the expressway, and very few would take the national road, let alone the original roads. Even if there were, they were probably poorly maintained!

Even if Prince Ping knew Tang Xuhai's plan, he still had to consider whether ending up walking was worth it.

Miao Jia's pupils reflected the green pattern on the satellite map. On the real-time map, finding a narrow road was a real test of eyesight.

"Found it!" Miao Jia excitedly exclaimed. "Turn over this hill, and there's a fork downhill. Take that road!"

Tang Xuhai nodded silently, and Fu Shiwu couldn't help but say, "Xuhai, how about I drive for you for a while?"

Tang Xuhai looked at him and said, "Not now. When we get through the alien tide, you can take over for me." Fu Shiwu nodded, and Tang Xuhai added, "Now, take your time to rest."

Fu Shiwu looked at Tang Xuhai's determined eyes, hesitated for a moment, then simply leaned back in his seat, closed his eyes, and adjusted the seat angle.

Inside the SUV, due to Tang Xuhai's modifications, the spaces between the seats were more generous.

Fu Shiwu closed his eyes for a nap, while Tang Xuhai, after turning over a hill, followed a downhill fork in the road.

This road didn't even have asphalt; it was simply paved with cement, the most basic level of road. Such small roads only existed between villages and counties.

National expressways were easy to travel, but the prosperous cities on both sides would attract most of the aliens. It was better to take such difficult roads. Although it was bumpy and fuel-consuming, Tang Xuhai was confident that the prepared gasoline would be enough, and they could find ways to replenish it midway. Some villages now had private gas stations, but most were hidden, and those unfamiliar with the situation couldn't find these deceptive little spots.

As the bumpy road shook, Fu Shiwu, half asleep and half awake, found the conditions not very conducive to rest.

He decided to empty his mind, attempting to enter a deep sleep.

Fu Shiwu's consciousness slowly relaxed, no longer caring about the swaying motion, and his breathing and heartbeat calmed down.

He thought he would fall asleep, but strangely entered a kind of vacant state.

Fu Shiwu's brain was blank, the transcendent feeling appearing once again.

However, unlike the tense atmosphere deliberately created by him, this time it was calm and gentle, and no one in the back seat or beside him noticed.

Fu Shiwu found the current situation very comfortable. Even without sleeping, he felt well-rested. He decided to stay like this for a while.

His entire being was attentively observing everything around. As the modified car advanced slowly, Fu Shiwu raised his perspective, and everything before his eyes progressed like a movie scene in his mind, immersing him completely.

Summer had just passed, and the weather was gradually getting cooler. A gentle breeze swayed the treetops, producing a crisp and pleasant "whooshing" sound. A clear stream flowed through a mountain ravine beside the road, reflecting the sparkling sunlight.

"Beautiful," Fu Shiwu sighed comfortably, feeling a relaxation he hadn't experienced in a long time.

Unfortunately, this comfort didn't last long before it was shattered. A sense of unease surged, waking him up.

"Something's ahead!" Fu Shiwu sat up suddenly.

Tang Xuhai was startled by him, staring at him and asking, "Having a nightmare?"

Fu Shiwu shook his head solemnly, saying, "I feel something ahead, something dangerous."

Miao Jia chuckled, "Fu ge, I didn't expect you to have a sixth sense. Do you still believe in that stuff?"

("Fu ge" is a term used by Miao Jia to address Fu Shiwu in a familiar or affectionate way, similar to using "ge" (older brother) as an honorific. Likewise, "Xuhai ge" is a term Miao Jia uses to refer to Tang Xuhai respectfully, using "ge" as a term of respect or familiarity for an older brother-like figure.)

Tang Xuhai gave him a look and slowly stopped the car. "I believe," he said.

Sometimes he had a strange intuition, and it was quite accurate.

Fu Shiwu looked at Tang Xuhai's firm eyes gratefully, then opened the door and got out. Seeing the front car stopping, the two cars behind also stopped, and then Hornet and Olande got out directly.

"What's going on?" Hornet asked Tang Xuhai, but his eyes were on the serious-looking Fu Shiwu standing beside him.

"Something's up ahead," Tang Xuhai didn't elaborate, turning to Fu Shiwu, "We'll go check."

"I'll go with you," Fu Shiwu insisted. Olande also approached, and Fu Shiwu didn't want to reveal too much, "I have a gun, it'll be safer with me."

Tang Xuhai hesitated for a moment and said, "Okay, come with me." He turned to Hornet and Olande, "You two temporarily handle security issues, stay vigilant!"

Tang Xuhai gave orders directly without room for discussion. Surprisingly, Hornet and Olande didn't say anything either.

Fu Shiwu squatted down and retied the shoelaces on his combat boots, stood up, and earnestly said to Tang Xuhai, "Let's go."

Tang Xuhai, seeing him so serious and meticulous, couldn't help but check his own attire, then reached out and took the double knives under the driver's seat.

Fu Shiwu and Tang Xuhai walked side by side, and Tang Xuhai felt a bit incredulous. Just a few months ago, Fu Shiwu was an office elite with no combat skills, but now he was walking with a gun in his hand.

It hadn't been long since the guy who looked weak and fragile disappeared without a trace. Although Fu Shiwu still looked thin, he no longer gave the impression of being helpless.

Thoughts churned in Tang Xuhai's mind, but his eyes were focused on alertness.

The one feeling uneasy was Fu Shiwu after all. He seemed to sense something, slowly stopped, and looked towards a slope beside the road. "Over there..."

Before the words landed, the large expanse of grass below the slope suddenly violently shook, and a thunderous "moo—" echoed through the sky.

"Damn it!" Fu Shiwu lamented. He lacked experience and unexpectedly startled the snake by hitting the grass.

"Get down!" Tang Xuhai's expression changed, and he leaped high in the air!

A large brown giant bull rushed from below the slope, charging towards them. Fu Shiwu realized he should dodge, but although he had the thought, his body was a beat slow.

Tang Xuhai leaped high in the air, watching Fu Shiwu dodging in slow motion, and Fu Shiwu's movements were already fast in his eyes. But the bull's movements were even faster!

"Moo—" The bull's roar resounded, and its horns brushed past Fu Shiwu, swiftly running by.

Fu Shiwu stumbled and fell to the ground.

He didn't dare to pause, rolling once before getting up.

Tang Xuhai breathed a sigh of relief, kicked a tree beside the road, and rebounded back.

Fu Shiwu knelt on the ground, raised the gun, and fired: "Bang—"

A crisp sound echoed as the bullet hit the bull's head, causing the bull to roar in pain.

Tang Xuhai's face changed. Was this bull's head even stronger than the Bull King's?!

Fu Shiwu was surprised but not panicked. He thought for a moment. Since the head didn't work, he aimed for the eyes!

As the bull roared, the ground in front of Fu Shiwu started cracking. Sensing danger, he quickly ran backward.

"Fu ge! Xuhai ge! Come back!" Miao Jia's voice came from afar.

Fu Shiwu felt helpless. How could he go back when chased by this bull?

Tang Xuhai glanced back at the spreading sandy ground, understanding. His combat boots scraped against the cement ground, rushing towards the bull.

Thankfully, the bull was a bit foolish, unable to run and use its power at the same time. Otherwise, Fu Shiwu would have been in danger.

"Charge!" Tang Xuhai shouted, throwing his double knives fiercely into the bull's back.

The bull, in pain, stopped the flying concrete that had hit Fu Shiwu. It turned around, red eyes glaring angrily at Tang Xuhai.

"Dumb bull! Come over here!" Tang Xuhai provocatively gestured.

"Moo—" Whether the bull understood his provocation, it charged towards Tang Xuhai.
