Chapter 2: The First World (2)

Shi Qing sat on the throne, expressionless, mechanically tapping the armrest with his fingers. His tone was surprisingly mild, given the circumstances. "System, tell me, what made you think that, knowing the world's consciousness would reject individuals disliked by the protagonist, you should place me on a planet where I nearly annihilated hundreds of thousands of the protagonist's compatriots?"

The system knew it was in trouble the moment it got summoned. Trembling in fear, it replied, "I-I didn't do it on purpose. This is my first mission, and I've only heard that using the maximum cheats would have an impact, but I didn't know it would be this...effect."

It was afraid of Shi Qing's potential anger, but Shi Qing wasn't as furious as one might expect. What's the point of getting angry when something has already happened? The key was to find a way to fix it.

Moreover, this identity was actually quite impressive. At least in the current situation where humanity was at a disadvantage, being an influential alien capable of going wherever he pleased had its advantages. He had just arrived on Blue Star, and he hadn't harmed a single Blue Starian. It was a fresh start.

"Alright, just don't make the same mistake next time. We have a month, and that should be enough. Now, tell me about the rejection level," Shi Qing instructed.

The system immediately shifted into work mode. "Rejection level for Yin Mingzhen: 100/100."

As soon as it reported this, it cowered in fear again.

A hundred percent rejection level? It had never seen such a high level of rejection in any of the previous mission records. With only a month to resolve it, how could it be enough?

The system was in deep trouble. This was its very first mission, and it had already deducted points from the host.

While the system continued to lament, Shi Qing stood up and waved his hand. A humanoid machine immediately brought a mirror, following his thoughts.

In front of the mirror stood a humanoid being constructed entirely of silver machinery. His body proportions were more human-like, with no excess parts, making him appear more akin to the humans outside.

Shi Qing closed his eyes, and the silver machinery on his body immediately transformed into a liquid state, gradually melting away to reveal his own human face underneath.

His own face appeared in the mirror, followed by his body, limbs, and, in the end, the person standing before the mirror was none other than Shi Qing himself.

He was dressed in casual sportswear, with a slender figure and icy yet handsome features.

"Hey, host, are you planning to pretend to be a human and get close to Yin Mingzhen? That's one way to do it," the system commented.

"No, I have a better plan," Shi Qing replied.

Shi Qing raised his hand and tapped his forehead with his slender fingertip. His original black pupils immediately turned silver, and the ordinary clothing he was wearing transformed into a silver combat suit similar to the humanoid machines outside.

His face also underwent slight changes, and within a minute, the person in the mirror was no longer the aloof and elegant young man but rather a boy who looked seventeen or eighteen, still retaining a youthful and innocent appearance.

Shi Qing extended his hand to feel his slightly softer abdomen and gazed at his reflection in the mirror.

Ever since he turned twenty and started going to the gym to work on his abs, he hadn't seen a soft spot on his stomach again.

At this age, he looked clear and pure, and his gaze held a hint of innocence that would elicit goodwill from people of any age.

Inside the spaceship, the humanoid machines, each diligently carrying out their tasks, paid no attention to Shi Qing's actions. They were fully dedicated machines without emotions or thoughts, the most loyal subordinates to the previous owner.

This was also why the entire universe feared the previous owner's race. They were a mechanical race, and the Mechanical Planet could only give birth to one life, similar to the existence of Wang Feng. After this life was born, it could use its own abilities to build its legion. Its mission was engraved in its soul: to invade.

Ask yourself, who wouldn't fear an invading race that had no life, no fear of death, and couldn't be killed no matter how many times they tried, as long as the previous owner was willing? It could create a never-ending legion of mechanical invaders and develop the best strategies for that legion based on its mechanical advisors.

For instance, this invasion of Blue Star. The reason the previous owner ordered the exchange of Yin Mingzhen for a hundred thousand human lives was that its mechanical advisor had calculated that Yin Mingzhen would be the biggest threat if they invaded Blue Star and suggested using divisive tactics to make the humans surrender Yin Mingzhen voluntarily.

After all, it had just been born not long ago, and even though invasion was deeply ingrained in its essence, Earth was the previous owner's first battleground. For a previous owner who had never engaged in combat, it wanted a secure approach.

So, it was only after Shi Qing had just been transported here that the countdown outside began, urging humans to hand over someone.

Of course, the Blue Starians didn't know any of this. To them, they couldn't even distinguish between the first invader and the second invader; after all, they were all aliens.

But it was precisely because the Blue Starians were ignorant of the various extraterrestrial races that Shi Qing had a good idea.

System: [Host, what do you plan to do?]

Shi Qing recalled the appearance of Yin Mingzhen he had just seen and squinted his eyes slightly.

[With his looks and physique, it would be a waste not to take advantage.]

He looked at his reflection in the mirror, extended his hand, and his palm matched the one in the mirror.

"Convey my command, withdraw the troops."

Above the shaky protective shield, the machines that had been motionless ever since Yin Mingzhen was taken away by the humanoid machines suddenly sprang to life, scaring those inside the shield, and another round of screams filled the air.

And in the midst of this chaos, tens of thousands of humanoid machines turned around and, obeying their master's command, returned towards the open hatch of the spaceship.

Their flying speed was fast but organized. In less than five minutes, there was only one large spaceship left in the sky.

Then, the ship slowly started to move, just like when they arrived, it silently left the human base.

The humans inside the protective shield still couldn't believe it.

The aliens had actually left, just like that, they had really left.

In an instant, cries of relief and gratitude filled the entire base, whether it was for their own survival or for the human hero who had been taken away.

Yin Mingzhen had been injected with a slow-acting drug, specifically designed for people with superpowers. It was ineffective on ordinary people but gradually slowed down the actions of superpowered individuals. An hour later, he would regain consciousness but be unable to move.

Ironically, this drug was one he had developed himself and handed over to the upper echelons of the base. Originally, it was intended to restrain those superpowered individuals who had become ruthless after gaining their abilities. Now, it was being used on him.

The decision to sacrifice a hundred thousand civilians for him was an easy one for the higher-ups.

However, after making that decision, no one came to tell him or ask for his opinion. Instead, they used his lack of defenses against his own kind to their advantage, ambushing him and putting him on the plane without a word.

From the surprise attack to boarding the plane and then being thrown to the ground without even a seat, he watched as countless shoes passed by his eyes as if he were an object. Someone even took the opportunity to kick him.

Yin Mingzhen knew the horrors of human nature, but he never expected his fellow humans, whom he had protected at the risk of his own life, to treat him this way.

Sending him to die was one thing, but they didn't even show him the last bit of respect before he died.

Yes, he was going to die, and there was no need for respect.

He was going to die, and the big picture he had always insisted on, protecting humanity, sacrificing himself, seemed unnecessary.

Yin Mingzhen closed his eyes, feeling the movement of the humanoid machines silently carrying him. He couldn't help but smile bitterly. Even though he was a captive, they were willing to give him a bed. His own kind, on the other hand, wasn't.

Then he felt a cold mechanical hand approaching him and injecting something into him. Yin Mingzhen had no intention of resisting, even if he wanted to, the slow-acting drug had left him weak.

He just remained as if in a coma, letting the mechanical hand do its work.

They threatened humans to hand him over, but once they got him, they didn't kill him. Were they planning to dissect him?

Yin Mingzhen speculated silently in his heart until the mechanical hand left and put him back on the soft, comfortable mattress.

Then, there was movement of humanoid machines in the room again. They seemed to be carrying something, bringing it in from outside. Yin Mingzhen moved his ears slightly, his superhuman hearing allowed him to hear that a heavy object had fallen at the head of his bed.

Subsequently, his sense of smell told him it was a plant, buried in soil. Combined with the heavy landing sound, it should be a potted plant with a ceramic base.

But why did the aliens put a potted plant at the head of his bed? Did they consider plants as weapons or tools to insult their enemies on their planet?

Then, Yin Mingzhen heard the sound of tools cutting the wall. The humanoid machines were moving something heavy again, and then they installed it on the wall.

He was quite curious about what these aliens were doing, and he couldn't help but open his eyes.

What he saw surprised him.

The humanoid machines were actually installing windows, the kind of sliding windows that were common on Blue Star before the extraterrestrial invasion. In addition to glass windows, there was even a light blue curtain being hung by one of the humanoid machines.

In other parts of the room, two humanoid machines were knocking on the walls, trying to install what looked like a television set. There were also two humanoid machines carrying a coffee table into the room, and one of them was arranging a fruit tray and teapot and teacups on the coffee table in an orderly manner.

Combined with the humanoid machines laying carpets, setting up clothing racks, and moving tables and chairs, Yin Mingzhen couldn't help but wonder if he was not a captive now but a guest being taken care of by his host.

Even in the human base, he didn't have the time or conditions to enjoy the daily life of an average Blue Star resident because he had to be prepared for battle at all times.

What surprised Yin Mingzhen the most was the gradual return of his strength.

He knew the duration of the slow-acting drug he had invented. For superpowered individuals, one dose of the drug would render them powerless for 24 hours.

Those people were probably worried that he might break free, so they administered five doses, which meant he wouldn't regain his strength for five days.

Yin Mingzhen almost immediately thought of what had been injected into him earlier but quickly dismissed the idea.

No, it couldn't be. Humans and extraterrestrials had an invader and invaded relationship; how could they possibly help him?

But the busy humanoid machines in front of him left him baffled.

Yin Mingzhen's strength was recovering rapidly. When the two humanoid machines finally successfully installed the television set into the wall, he clenched his fists, feeling the strength surging through his body again, and slowly sat up.

The humanoid machines, who were still busy, seemed to sense some movement and all turned to look at him.

Staring at him with many pairs of silver, inorganic eyes, Yin Mingzhen couldn't help but tense his body and maintain a vigilant posture, watching the humanoid machines attentively, ready to fight at any moment.

However, the humanoid machines didn't do anything. They didn't attack or threaten; they just continued with their work as if nothing had happened.

With the situation unclear, Yin Mingzhen didn't want to attack recklessly. He remained tensed, paying attention to the movements of these machines while lifting the blanket and getting out of bed.

Yes, these extraterrestrials had even covered him with a blanket. This treatment was far from what he expected for a captive.

He cautiously walked to the door, and his hand gently grasped the doorknob. Seeing that none of the humanoid machines in the room paid him any attention, he slowly pushed open the door.

Behind the door was a wide and long corridor with silver-white floors, silver-white walls, and everything was silver-white, including the humanoid machines wearing silver-white combat suits who were diligently cleaning.

In this sea of silver-white, a figure gradually walked towards him from the other end of the corridor.

He looked like a human, but since he could appear on an extraterrestrial spaceship, he obviously wasn't human. He was dressed in a silver-white combat suit, walking briskly and heading straight towards Yin Mingzhen.

Wherever he went, the humanoid machines that had been busy a moment ago stopped what they were doing. Their short, mechanical legs knelt down in an obviously submissive gesture.

Everything was done silently and solemnly, and Yin Mingzhen could feel the boundless loyalty of these humanoid machines to the person in front of him.

Yin Mingzhen was certain that this extraterrestrial, who looked so much like a human, must hold a significant position on this spaceship.

Without making a sound, he lowered his thumbs lightly into his palms, a routine action before using his abilities.

The young man with clear silver eyes seemed unaware of Yin Mingzhen's tense body and vigilant gaze.

Seeing Yin Mingzhen looking at him, he immediately broke into a sweet smile and quickly stepped forward, ignoring Yin Mingzhen's instinctive defensive posture, and hugged his arm.

"You're awake, my partner."

Yin Mingzhen: "... What?"

Shi Qing didn't respond; instead, he pulled him into the room. Yin Mingzhen wanted to struggle, but he found that the teenager in front of him appeared harmless but was surprisingly strong. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't break free.

In desperation, he reached out to use his abilities to push Shi Qing away, but for some reason, his abilities seemed to have failed, and the young man showed no reaction.

How could this be? He had just experimented; his abilities were clearly usable...

In the brief moment of distraction, Yin Mingzhen had already been pinned to the bed. He lay on the soft, large bed, with the clear-eyed and sweet-smiling unfamiliar teenager straddling him from above.

"Wait..."

Yin Mingzhen instinctively reached out, but Shi Qing easily grabbed his wrist and pressed it to the top of his head, rendering him completely helpless.

"Don't wait."

With an innocent yet expectant tone and a face full of childlike innocence, the teenager did something extremely domineering:

"Come on, let's make a baby."
