In the abandoned electronics factory in the northwest of Mexico, five ordinary-looking SUVs were parked. James, wearing brown glasses, was on the phone with a grim expression on his face.
His partner, Lynch, asked, "Not going smoothly?"
James replied simply, "The princess's agent suddenly brought a team of bodyguards and launched a two-sided attack, scattering the Trole gang. Trole claims they suffered heavy casualties, but they managed to keep almost all the bodyguards. The princess's group escaped, including herself and two others."
Lynch shook his head, saying, "The gang's combat strength is too weak. There's something fishy about this."
James continued, "Contact the relevant personnel and clean up the situation, especially on the Mexican police side. We need to find out the princess's whereabouts as soon as possible."
Lynch got out of the car and made a call on his phone.
James quickly reported the situation to Matt Graves.
On the other end, Matt Graves made an immediate decision, "Change the plan. Locate the princess, rendezvous with the tactical team, take action, and then return to the border immediately."
They had reached this point; there was no turning back. Originally, he wanted to be cautious in Mexico and avoid getting his hands dirty if possible. However, the capabilities of the Mexican gang were ultimately limited.
Matt added, "Eliminate anyone with information!"
James was already prepared to silence anyone, responding, "As you wish."
After ending the call, James signaled the vehicles behind him, and the tactical team from the military contractor immediately came over for a meeting.
These people were dressed in urban camouflage and well-equipped, with a black bear claw emblem on the outer side of their left arms.
The original tactical team they had hired was wiped out in the quarry. This new team had recently been requested from their home country, but those office-bound individuals were slow in their actions, always following procedures. The hiring process, which should have been simple, dragged on for days.
With the military contractor's team, if someone died, they died. They had plenty of excuses, and while their superiors wanted results, they also had numerous concerns, making it easy to miss opportunities.
James gave a direct order, "Change of plans, cancel the original itinerary! Prepare for an ambush! Follow my commands!"
Issuing consecutive instructions, the members of the tactical team started their vehicles and entered the factory, quickly searching for suitable positions.
Over half an hour later, several cars drove into the abandoned electronics factory. Trole saw James and immediately directed the driver to approach.
After getting out of the car, Trole exchanged words with James, trying to defend the failed operation and also asking for money.
Suddenly, James pulled out his gun and easily subdued Trole.
The silenced gunshots rang out, and the people who came with Trole were all riddled with bullets.
Trole, who wanted to take advantage of the CIA's influence to grow stronger, was completely taken aback.
During the subsequent interrogation, James extracted the true account of the morning's events at the TV station from Trole's mouth.
After hearing Trole's description of the tall and handsome gunman, James suddenly had a guess.
A few days ago, the intelligence network's information indicated that someone resembling the quarry killer, Ronan, was coming to Mexico along the interstate highway.
That person named Ronan was responsible for Ian-Somos's death, and his marksmanship was undoubtedly excellent.
Now, a skilled gunman saved Jessica. Could this be a coincidence?
Extremely handsome and highly skilled in marksmanship, coupled with the news of his arrival in Mexico, the three points converged, leading James to suspect that the gunman who saved Jessica was most likely Ronan!
Upon receiving this information, James informed Matt Graves, who replied concisely, "Kill him!"
After a brief pause, Matt asked again, "Can you and Lynch handle it?"
James smiled, "Of course!"
Lynch began mobilizing the intelligence network to find out the princess's whereabouts.
James assembled the tactical team from the military contractor, ensuring that once they located their targets, they could take them down effectively.
The mission was crystal clear: capture the princess alive and eliminate the suspected Ronan, the skilled gunman!
...........
In a city with a large population, even amidst chaos, there would be wealthy individuals.
Where there were wealthy individuals, there would naturally be areas with concentrated affluent residents.
In Mexico City, this area was mainly along the banks of the Colorado River.
In the enormous single-family mansion, Ronan took off his blood-stained clothes, quickly showered, and changed into fresh attire. He equipped himself with a handgun, a dagger, and a shoulder bag.
There was a knock on the door, and it was Pedro. "Let's eat together."
Ronan opened the door, accompanied Pedro downstairs, and at the long dining table, a sumptuous meal was prepared.
Through the glass doors and windows, they could see the spacious courtyard where many people were patrolling.
Pedro invited Ronan to sit at the table and said, "Jessica's uncle runs a security company, and these people are under him."
Seeing Ronan's skepticism, Pedro didn't explain much. Instead, he handed over a card with account information, saying, "Two hundred thousand dollars, an anonymous account. I personally made the call to arrange it. Jessica also transferred thirty thousand dollars in advance for your yearly salary."
Ronan took the card, putting away the question on his face, and it vanished immediately. "Thank you."
Just then, Jessica descended from another staircase.
She had changed her clothes, wearing a white t-shirt and tight-fitting dark blue jeans, accentuating her stunning figure. Even in flat sports shoes, her legs remained astonishingly long. Her brown hair was tied up in a ponytail, revealing her sweet face.
As she approached, her Latin complexion was smoother than the freckled skin often found on many Caucasians, almost like silk.
Ronan glanced briefly, then averted his gaze, calmly eating his meal.
Jessica pulled out a chair and sat next to Pedro, saying to Ronan, "Thank you for saving me."
Ronan remained expressionless, "You paid, I acted."
Jessica smiled, her natural beauty making her smile particularly sweet. "Regardless, you saved me."
Ronan maintained the demeanor of a mercenary, someone who took money for the job, "Miss Jessica, this city is unsafe. I suggest you leave immediately."
Staying in one place for too long without knowing how long to wait could attract attention, and it increased the likelihood of Antonio showing up.
Pedro looked outside, where patrols were everywhere, and said, "Don't worry, this place is well-hidden. Nobody knows Jessica is hiding here. We have enough manpower, and if something like this morning happens again, they won't leave any survivors! It's more dangerous to go out recklessly without any support."
He smiled, "Besides, we have you, don't we? I've called for reinforcements, and by the latest, a large number of people will arrive before dawn."
Ronan accepted the information without much conversation to avoid revealing too much.
He knew Jessica's true identity and felt that the situation was not simple.
The information from Harvey Gonzalez's side indicated that Antonio Garcia had been in hiding for too long, and the best way now was to use Jessica to draw him out.
Ronan quickly finished his meal and said to Pedro, "I need weapons, heavy firepower."
Pedro called someone over and instructed, "Take Mr. Brown to the underground armory, let him pick any weapons he wants."
Ronan followed the person to the underground weapon storage.
Pedro asked, "Jessica, have you been able to contact your father?"
Jessica shook her head slowly, feeling a bit worried, "I haven't been able to reach my father on the phone. Maybe I'll have to wait for him to contact me."
"Don't worry." Pedro reassured her, "Your father has been through many storms. He must be busy! You can rest assured here. There won't be any danger anymore. The core of the Jose Group is in Tijuana, and the number of people they can send over is limited. You've seen Brown's skills. He alone can take down twenty elite gunmen!"
Jessica asked, "Is he trustworthy?"
Pedro roughly recounted what happened last night, "If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have been able to see you last night."
Jessica frowned, "Witch? Zombie? Uncle Pedro, are you sure?"
Pedro knew these things were hard to explain, so he simply stopped talking about it and changed the subject, "If Brown hadn't been here this morning, could we still be sitting here?"
Jessica had a keen eye and could see through people. If that person had any ulterior motives, she would have been in big trouble by now.
"He used to be a bounty hunter. Give him more money, and he'll be at ease," Jessica suggested.
Pedro, however, said, "We're already paying him a lot. We can't just keep giving him money. He likes money, so we'll use it to lure him in, and he'll be more willing to help us."
Jessica nodded, "I'll trust your judgment."
..........
Entering the underground basement, numerous weapons were stacked in boxes and on tables.
Ronan first replenished the M9's magazine and then selected a fully automatic M4. He put on a tactical vest, loaded rifle magazines, and even grabbed two grenades, hanging them on his chest.
The guide felt he was being too exaggerated and couldn't help but say, "This place is very safe. We have over twenty guards!"
Ronan replied calmly, "I have a phobia of being under-armed."
Better to be prepared for any unexpected situation than to have no weapons or ammunition.
The guide shrugged and didn't say anything more.
Ronan returned upstairs and found Pedro. He asked him to bring several cars from the garage to park at the villa's entrance and the main gate. He also requested the remote control key for the main gate, just in case of emergencies, so they could escape quickly by car.
In his view, if it was indeed the work of the Jose Group, now that they had torn their faces, they wouldn't just let things go easily.
Pedro had witnessed Ronan's prowess last night and this morning. Although he had doubts in his heart, he still followed Ronan's instructions and prepared the vehicles and keys as requested.
He also accompanied Ronan to become familiar with the surroundings upstairs and downstairs.
Following Ronan's instructions, they made preparations for an emergency evacuation.
Ronan settled in the living room of Jessica's suite, and Pedro brought a handgun to sleep on the sofa.
After experiencing the gunfire this morning, almost being abducted, Jessica didn't act like a mindless girl in the movies. She packed her belongings in a sturdy canvas bag, ready to leave at any moment. She even left the bedroom door slightly ajar so that Ronan could hear any movement instantly.
Anyway, she wasn't going to undress for sleep.
After dinner, the sky quickly darkened. Ronan gave Pedro some instructions, ensured the guns were within reach, and closed his eyes to rest.
Last night, he had been busy dealing with the voodoo witch and voodoo zombies for most of the night, and today, he was engaged in a gang battle. Even though his mental strength was stronger than the average person, he still felt tired.
The Hunter was still flesh and blood.
To deal with crises, one must maintain abundant energy.
As the night grew deeper, Jessica in the next room mumbled in her sleep, still affected by the earlier frights of the day.
Suddenly, the Hunter's alertness was triggered. Ronan opened his eyes and heard what sounded like something landing in the courtyard. He stood up quietly, observing the situation. The indoor lighting was dim, but there were lights in the courtyard.
In front of the security room at the main gate, a guard was sitting on the ground!
Ronan quickly woke up Pedro, "We've got a situation!"
Then, he went to the bedroom, where Jessica was already on high alert, sitting up immediately.
Ronan made a hushing gesture to her and motioned for her to follow him.
Having witnessed Ronan's abilities with her own eyes, Jessica didn't hesitate. She grabbed her bag and followed him quietly.
