Chapter 18: Car Wreck and Casualties

The black Mercedes SUV turned onto the road in front of the television station. Suddenly, gunshots rang out from the parking lot. Pedro's face turned pale, and he slammed the accelerator, propelling the SUV forward recklessly.

He almost shouted, "Jessica is in the television station, help me!"

Ronan, upon hearing the gunshots, pulled out an M9 pistol he had picked up and calmly said, "You drive, I'll shoot!"

Hearing this, Pedro inexplicably felt relieved. If they could deal with the mysterious voodoo witch, what were ordinary gunmen to them?

Seeing the open gate of the television station's parking lot, Pedro slowed down a bit, made a sharp turn, and narrowly avoided flipping the SUV. Without giving the surrounding cars a chance to react, they stormed through the gate.

The parking lot was in chaos, with panicked people running in all directions. The sound of pistol shots continued unabated, and Ronan even heard the distinct sounds of a micro-uzi and an AK being fired rapidly.

On the ground lay the bodies of more than ten young people, seemingly in their late teens to early twenties.

The gunmen engaged in a shootout belonged to two groups: five or six bodyguards in suits took cover behind vehicles and exchanged fire with gangsters dressed in various outfits. The former were at an absolute disadvantage in terms of numbers and firepower and were struggling to keep their heads up.

The latter didn't care that their targets were clearly young fans and were shooting frantically, causing people to fall from getting hit.

Ronan rolled down the car window and lifted his gun, firing two shots at the gangsters.

Bang! Bang!

With crisp gunshots, the gangster's chest was hit, and he fell to the ground, convulsing.

Despite the chaos and crowd, Ronan always managed to find the gunmen and swiftly take them down.

Pedro was skilled at driving, maneuvering around the bodies and the injured, and before the gangsters could react, he accelerated and rammed into a gunman wearing a hat.

Ronan got out of the car, using the SUV as cover, he fired shots in quick succession, emptying a magazine.

Six gunmen were shot in the head or critical areas, losing their lives.

However, after the panicking crowd fled, there were still more than thirty gangsters left on the scene.

Ronan crouched and moved forward, hiding behind the front wheel. Gunfire sounded, and the SUV was riddled with bullet holes.

Then, Ronan swiftly rose and fired two shots in succession, blowing off the head of a gunman with a micro-uzi!

Pedro hid under the car and shouted loudly, "Jessica! Don't panic, I'm here! There's a handsome guy, my new bodyguard, he's on our side!"

A female voice responded, "Uncle Pedro, stay safe, don't get killed!"

Jessica, dressed in a dark green split skirt, crouched behind the nanny car's front wheel, with two bodyguards lying nearby, their chests riddled with bullets.

She didn't scream in panic; instead, she calmly took off her high heels and threw them aside.

Thud!

A bodyguard's neck was shattered by a bullet, and he fell without making a sound.

Intense gunfire erupted!

The parking lot was vast, and there were too many gunmen. More than ten of them circled around, flanking from the sides and the back. Under the crossfire, most of the bodyguards fell.

"A generous greeting to Princess." Someone shouted.

Jessica hugged her head, staring at a pistol right in front of her.

Just as she was about to reach for the gun, a voice rang out, "Get down!"

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

The sound of pistol and micro-uzi fire erupted simultaneously!

Jessica hugged her head, crouched low, and peeked upwards. She saw a tall and muscular handsome guy standing near the front of the car, holding an M9 in one hand and an Uzi in the other, shooting at the gunmen on both sides.

The heads and chests of more than ten gunmen exploded like time bombs, bursting with blood flowers one after another!

Every shot hit its mark!

The gunmen were dropping like flies!

Pedro's voice came over, "Jessica, he's on our side!"

Ronan tossed away the empty micro-uzi and took cover behind the front of the car. He swiftly replaced the pistol's magazine and targeted his next two victims. The bullets pierced through the diagonally opposite car window, shattering the head of another gunman on the other side.

Immediately afterward, he slightly adjusted his aim, and two shots rang out, hitting the skull of another guy who was discreetly extending his gun from behind the car.

At the same time, Jessica grabbed the split skirt and tore away the obstructive hem, quickly discarding it. Fortunately, her designer clothes were sturdy and durable, not impeding her actions.

The lower half of her previously high-split dress turned into a form-fitting hot pant, revealing her tanned and long legs.

"Let's go!" Ronan led the way with the gun.

Jessica, barefoot, hurriedly followed.

Bang! Bang!

Gunfire erupted again, and the gunmen in front had their heads hit by bullets, spurting blood as they fell to the ground.

Ronan pulled Jessica down by her left hand, and bullets whizzed above them.

Before she could think too much, the handsome guy in front fired back. With two gunshots, a thud followed as someone fell.

Ronan shot down another person and said, "Let's go!"

He picked up a short AK from a gunman's body with a headshot and grabbed two magazines, tossing them to Jessica. "Take these."

Ronan continued to suppress the remaining gunmen with his gunfire as he and Jessica reached the Mercedes SUV.

Pedro was already in the driver's seat, and the rear door was open.

Jessica immediately got in, and Ronan followed, activating his psychic vision. With several quick gestures of his left hand, multiple red halos of light appeared, revealing the soul fragments, which were part of the Dominator's book.

Ronan removed the empty AK magazine, handing it to Jessica. As a member of the Garcia Group, she was likely familiar with guns, so she gave him the magazine despite her slightly trembling hands.

With the new magazine in place, Ronan shouted, "Go!" while Pedro sped away.

However, the entrance they used earlier was blocked by cars!

Ronan saw that several guns were raised from behind a car, so he warned Jessica, "Take cover!"

Jessica quickly crouched in her seat.

Ronan shot out the car's window on that side and fired in short bursts. One guy with a shotgun aimed to fire at the SUV, but his head was half blown off by a bullet.

The SUV accelerated, crossing the large parking lot, and headed for the other entrance to the road.

At least eight or nine cars were chasing after them!

Ronan again shot out the rear window, engaging in short bursts against the pursuers.

The Toyota in the front seemed as fragile as paper, emitting white smoke from the engine, and its speed drastically reduced.

The Chevrolet behind couldn't avoid it and collided with the rear of the Toyota.

Other cars swerved to avoid the collision and resumed the pursuit.

A gunman leaned out of a car window, trying to shoot at the SUV.

Ronan's bullets precisely targeted each threat, ensuring that no one would miss their share of bullets.

As the SUV turned, he seized the opportunity to shoot the side tires, causing the leading pickup truck to swerve and crash into a thick palm tree on the side of the road.

Oh no! Oh no! Oh no!

Sirens blared as two Mexican police cars turned the corner from the other side of the intersection. They used a megaphone to shout, "Mercedes in front, stop immediately!"

Through the windshield, Ronan could see the police officer on the passenger side organizing his firearms.

"Go!" He shouted to Pedro!

Unlike Ronan, Pedro, being a native Mexican, had no trust in the police. The Mercedes didn't even slow down.

It was only at this moment that Jessica had the chance to say, "They are from the Jose Group, and someone said Generous Jose wants to greet me."

Ronan deliberately asked, "Jose from Tijuana?"

"Yes, it's them," Jessica replied, tying her brown hair into a ponytail, her face dotted with splattered blood.

Pedro yelled, "Hold on tight!"

The SUV's speed increased as they ran through a red light at the intersection.

On the other side of the intersection, a police car turned and almost ran parallel to the SUV. Someone in the backseat raised their hands, and the dark gun barrels were about to turn their way.

Ronan's shooting speed was much faster than theirs. Bang! Bang! Bang! Three shots in rapid succession, and that person's neck turned into a mess.

The gun moved horizontally, and a spray of bullets turned the driver's side door into a hornet's nest. The car changed direction, rushing onto the sidewalk and crashing into a lamppost.

"What have you guys done?" Ronan asked loudly. "Even the Mexican police are going crazy!"

Pedro shouted back, "Mister, they wanted to kidnap Jessica! Jessica, you know, she's a good person!"

Ronan pressed down Jessica's head and crouched, with bullets flying past the SUV.

Shooting at high speed, it was extremely difficult for ordinary gunmen to hit their targets. Jessica's sweet face rubbed against the seat, and her prominent nose almost got broken, but she held back the pain without making a sound.

Ronan lifted his gun, aimed at the Mexican police car that had just shot, and unleashed a mad burst of fire. The police car veered off course and crashed into a parked car on the side of the road, immediately flipping over.

However, the cars behind continued to pursue them, unlike the typical style of gang kidnappers who would retreat after one unsuccessful attempt.

Ronan raised a proposition, "Pedro, for this, you need to pay extra!"

Before Pedro could respond, Jessica said, "Protect me, break through, and I'll give you $200,000!"

Ronan haggled like a money-driven bounty hunter, "I want a Swiss bank account without a name! I don't want to pay taxes!"

"Deal!" Jessica agreed.

A big hand reached out, and Jessica immediately handed over a magazine. Ronan quickly replaced it and continued to suppress the pursuers behind them.

With the sound of gunshots, two more cars crashed.

Ronan reminded, "Pedro, you better find a way to get rid of them; I'm running out of bullets!"

Pedro said, "I've contacted someone; backup is on its way!"

The Garcia Group also had some influence in this city, but under normal circumstances, they wouldn't have any contact with Jessica to avoid damaging her reputation. However, in this situation, they couldn't care too much about such concerns.

"Chase them."

In the back of the pursuing vehicles, Trole was desperately yelling, "Chase after them!"

The remaining four gang cars automatically slowed down. The gunman on the SUV was too terrifying; getting close meant death and destruction.

Bullets and death not only fueled people's fanaticism but also intensified their fear.

These people finally came to their senses and realized that their lives might be more important than the benefits of kidnapping the Mexican sweetheart.

The SUV headed toward a district near the Colorado River in Mexicali. After passing an intersection, two large trucks suddenly came over and blocked the road!

The drivers in the trucks pulled out the keys and ran.

Pedro drove the SUV into a parking lot, abandoning the vehicle. He shouted for Ronan and Jessica to get into a large commercial vehicle and quickly left the scene.
