"I am very honored to witness this important moment as everyone's representative," Joan of Arc said proudly, raising her head slightly after hearing from Liang En that the other two historical followers couldn't make it.
"Of course, during this battle, I will do my utmost to ensure everyone's safety. At the very least, in a place filled with extraordinary powers, I can maximize my abilities."
Undoubtedly, with the opening of the Time-Space Door, the extraordinary energy levels at its location will rise, enabling the use of extraordinary powers that were previously unusable near the door.
This could negatively affect purely technological forces. For instance, when extraordinary power reaches a certain level, existing weapons might become ineffective.
For others on Earth, this would be a fatal issue because, in a world without extraordinary powers, such forces could gain an overwhelming advantage.
However, for Liang En and his team, the situation is different. In areas where extraordinary powers are strong, both Liang En and Joan of Arc can unleash several times their usual power, enough to suppress whatever lies on the other side of the door.
As long as they can suppress the other side for a few seconds, Liang En can easily destroy the door to ensure the safety of their home world.
"Of course, all these preparations are for extreme situations. At least this time, I think we shouldn't encounter anything dangerous."
As Liang En opened the Time-Space Door and led the fully armed Joan of Arc into the cave where it was located, he explained his preparations to her.
"This time, I've locked onto a world with no animals, only plants and microorganisms, so we just need to prevent biological invasion."
For ordinary people, stopping an invasion from another world might be very challenging, but for Liang En, who had earned the highest Druid title as the Historical Explorer Merlin, it was quite simple.
The only concern now was that the equipment added earlier might have malfunctioned, leading them to the wrong target. Fortunately, both theory and divination suggested that the situation should be fine this time.
When Liang En and Joan of Arc arrived at the door, the light within the frame stabilized completely, taking on a surface like liquid mercury.
At the same time, Liang En sensed that on the other side of the door was a world, but through the door, it felt eerily still and lifeless.
"A dead world?" Liang En thought, his nerves tense after the first round of exploration. However, his frown soon eased.
A dead world meant it would be hard to obtain anything valuable from it, and there would be no communication, but it also meant avoiding the complications that arise from contact between different worlds.
As Liang En was sensing the world, Joan of Arc set down her backpack and took out a silver box. From it, she retrieved a small gray sphere, slightly smaller than a baseball.
Like the Time-Space Door, the gray sphere was covered with various mysterious runes. When Joan of Arc touched a few of these runes, the metal ball sprouted two pairs of wings that began vibrating rapidly.
With the wings vibrating at high speed, the golden sphere gradually lifted from Joan of Arc's hand. Meanwhile, she took out a pair of glasses that looked highly advanced and put them on.
These glasses and the flying ball were part of the same equipment—a small reconnaissance construct powered by both extraordinary energy and electricity, or simply a drone.
Given the possibility of traveling to different worlds, the energy supply, flight, and reconnaissance systems were thoroughly considered.
Some components, like the energy supply system, even had dual backups for redundancy, but this made the drone significantly larger, and many devices couldn't be included.
For example, in Liang En's original design, this device would have been armed and equipped with a magical version of artificial intelligence, but all these features were removed.
Now, this construct could only rely on its size and speed for protection, requiring manual control to carry out various reconnaissance tasks.
According to Liang En's initial plan, he would operate the drone for the first reconnaissance mission, but after discussion, Joan of Arc took on the task.
This was mainly because they had never encountered any other extraordinary beings. When preparing for the possibility of encountering an extraordinary enemy, they had to prepare for the worst.
Since they couldn't find any real examples related to the extraordinary, they had to base their plans on content from various literary works.
Considering that in some novels, extraordinary beings could strike back through observation, they decided that Joan of Arc, who had the highest level of extraordinary power, should operate the reconnaissance construct.
"What do you see?" Liang En asked, unable to resist his curiosity as Joan of Arc's expression changed rapidly after the golden ball flew through the door.
"A very flat and very quiet world," Joan of Arc replied after organizing her thoughts for about ten seconds in response to Liang En's question.
"It's a very barren planet with no visible life. The ground is gray, the sky is orange, the star is orange, and the surface is very flat—"
As Joan of Arc described it, Liang En quickly sketched it out on paper, realizing that the world resembled Mars, but without craters.
With his limited knowledge of astronomy, he guessed that this was an aging planet with almost no geological activity left, yet it somehow had a stable atmosphere, though no signs of life.
This mystery became even more apparent after the golden ball returned: the samples indicated that the world had a climate and oxygen levels equivalent to an altitude of 3,000 meters on Earth, where humans could survive, but there was no sign of life in any of the samples.
This was more accurate than any scientific instrument. As a Druid who had mastered the highest legendary powers, there was no way he could miss any signs of life.
Further investigation revealed that apart from some ice at the poles, there was no water on this planet.
Yes, no rivers, no lakes, and certainly no seas. The sky was devoid of clouds, and the air was so dry that even the Sahara seemed moist in comparison.
This likely explained the absence of life here—without water, life couldn't survive.
Of course, if silicon-based life forms existed here, they might survive without water, but based on the current clues, this place was unlikely to be the home of silicon-based life forms like Transformers.
