Liang En walked out of the room holding a disk made of mithril. However, unlike before, this disk now had a blood-red gemstone embedded in its center, resembling solidified blood. Additionally, strange patterns lit up on the disk's surface, which emitted a faint silver-blue glow, making it look like one of those wireless phone chargers with LED lights underneath.
But in reality, this wasn't an expression of electricity or any other modern energy source. Instead, it was an external manifestation of extraordinary power, drawing from the energy of the newly created magic gemstone embedded in the disk.
In other words, once the gemstone's energy is completely consumed, this mithril disk will once again fall into permanent silence—or perhaps something even worse.
This was mainly because, through his previous research, Liang En had discovered that despite the disk being made from mithril, a legendary material known for its exceptional stability, and despite its intricate design, it still faced various issues due to the passage of time.
Although, in theory, items made from mithril can last for tens of thousands of years without any problems, this is only true if the item remains in an environment filled with magic, allowing the material to absorb the surrounding magic and self-repair.
However, the mithril items that ended up on Earth not only couldn't find any extraordinary power to repair themselves, but they also lost a significant amount of their power due to the surrounding environment, leading to inevitable aging.
After discovering this, Liang En naturally transferred a substantial amount of extraordinary power for the disk to absorb. Unfortunately, due to the long period of continuous output, the repairs could only address the symptoms and not the root cause.
"At least it's done, but it still needs some time," Liang En said somewhat helplessly. "This disk won't last long, nor can it sustain prolonged output, meaning I only have one chance to receive the message."
"So, next, I need to adjust my mood to ensure I'm in the best state to receive the information, so I don't miss anything important."
"Yes, it's always good to be prepared before a war," Joan of Arc said as she lightly waved the spatula in her hand. "Alright, I'll go make you a steak. I hope I didn't overcook it earlier."
After dinner, Liang En sat for a while before going to meditate. Once everything was in place, he quietly returned to his workshop and pressed the silver disk against his chest, following the method he had developed earlier.
As extraordinary power poured in, the runes on the disk came to life, spinning around the blood-red gemstone before gradually detaching from the disk.
When the dense text began to rise from the disk and swirl around it, Liang En felt a sense of awareness and opened his eyes. At that moment, the runes seemed to find their target and flew straight into his eyes.
Seeing this, Liang En suppressed his instinct to close his eyes and instead widened them, watching as the runes flew into his eyes.
This was, in fact, the final mechanism designed by the original creator. Even if someone unfamiliar with the disk managed to unlock it, they would instinctively close their eyes when faced with these suddenly flying light points.
In the disk's design, these fragile runes were the carriers of the information. If someone closed their eyes and blocked them out, they naturally wouldn't be able to receive the information.
Liang En was able to uncover this secret because he had thoroughly studied all of the disk's designs, deciphering information that, theoretically, no one else would have known.
Thus, he kept his eyes wide open, watching the eerie blood-red runes without blinking, unlike an ordinary person who might have chosen to look away or close their eyes.
As the runes fully entered his eyes, a flood of information filled Liang En's mind. This information was composed of a special script never before seen on Earth, yet he could fully understand its contents.
However, to his surprise, this wasn't the database of another world that he had long speculated about, but rather a complex array of data and a series of explanations.
"What the heck is this?" Liang En frowned as he looked at the data, which appeared to be extremely fragmented, clearly pointing to something specific.
Perhaps due to the use of extraordinary methods, Liang En was able to receive a large amount of information in a short time. After he finished receiving it, he finally understood what this information was about:
It was a plan for space travel between different worlds, devised by an unfortunate being who had once ended up in this world and used the remaining time of its life to create the plan.
According to the unfortunate being, it was a unique form of natural life that had accidentally arrived in this world during a dangerous exploration.
Upon arriving in this world, it was initially very excited, as it discovered that the world lacked any intelligent life but already had some plants and animals.
Undoubtedly, it was a world highly suitable for colonization. If it could convey this information to its people, it would become one of the greatest among its kind.
But soon, it was horrified to find that this world was nothing but a barren wasteland devoid of extraordinary power. It felt its strength, its very life, rapidly draining away. Most importantly, its original methods of returning home were no longer effective.
Fortunately, due to its unique life form, it fared better than those who perished upon arriving on Earth because of the harsh extraordinary environment. It managed to leave behind this mithril disk to transmit information.
The reason for leaving this object was simple: it believed its kind might also find their way here, so it left this device to potentially guide any other unfortunate souls who arrived.
The information it left behind was a plan to leave this world. Unfortunately, by the time this otherworldly visitor completed its research, it no longer had enough power to execute the plan.
"There are two pieces of news. First, the outsiders who came to this world died like fish thrown into the desert, which means they won't cause any harm to our world. I suppose that's good news."
After sorting through the information and understanding the situation, Liang En used his secret communication methods to contact his historical followers and said,
"The other piece of news is that there's a weak point in our world's space that could lead to other worlds. So I think we should check it out and see what's going on."
"Of course, besides investigating this spatial weak point, I also want to see if their method of travel is practical. If it is, I think we might have a chance to visit other worlds ourselves."
"After all, for those of us with extraordinary power, continuing down the path of the extraordinary might require more exchange, and now, I think we may have finally found a way to make that exchange happen."
