After realizing that there might be something hidden within the wall in front of him, Liang En quickly moved to Joan of Arc's side and used his extraordinary power to open a hole in the side of the wall.
This had become a habitual practice since he mastered extraordinary powers. After all, in many cases, doors or covers might be linked to some mechanisms or alarms, but solid walls generally had none.
Considering that extraordinary powers had never appeared in this world before, no one would have ever imagined that such powers could allow someone to break through from the side without causing any major disturbances.
As they had previously speculated, there was indeed a hidden compartment within the wall, and the secret door of the compartment was connected to several wires, likely part of an alarm system.
However, the compartment looked empty at first glance. It wasn't until Liang En shone his flashlight into the small space that he noticed a drawing inside.
"This is... the Black Sun!" Liang En was initially stunned when he saw the pattern on the inner wall of the compartment, then he showed a shocked expression. He hadn't expected to see such a symbol in this place.
Especially considering how religiously devout this land was compared to many other places, the appearance of such a symbol, which could even be considered heretical, here was certainly significant.
Undoubtedly, this was a highly shocking discovery, as the Black Sun symbol in the compartment had evidently existed for several decades, with the gold plating on the design showing layers of accumulation.
"Is this the headquarters of the Thule Society?" Joan of Arc quietly asked after seeing the familiar symbol.
"I can't be certain, but I am sure that they are indeed connected to the Thule Society," Liang En said after a few seconds of thought. "Because this Black Sun belongs to the Black Sun, a secret organization in Nazi Germany during World War II."
Realizing that this might be a shrine of sorts, Liang En quickly began searching the surrounding area. Soon, he found another hidden compartment not far from the first one.
This compartment, however, contained something much simpler: just a P38 pistol issued to the German army during World War II. The only difference was that the grip of this pistol had some carvings.
Unfortunately, the carvings were all quite common symbols, such as an eagle clutching a swastika and two parallel lightning bolts, which were the insignia of the SS, the Schutzstaffel.
From the condition of the gun, it was likely brought to this land during World War II. But when Liang En took out the gun, he found a thin identification tag underneath it.
However, unlike the usual oval-shaped aluminum tags used by the military, this one was also oval but made of copper, with a small hole on one side for a string.
The front of the tag depicted an eagle clutching a swastika, while the back had a name and a number, clearly indicating that this was an SS officer's identification tag.
"I can be fairly certain of one thing: this place definitely holds many hidden stories," Liang En said definitively as he gently took out the identification tag.
"As for why such things are here, there could be many reasons. But from the Black Sun symbol, it’s highly likely that this was part of Nazi Germany’s occult explorations during World War II."
Nazi Germany during World War II was a racist regime, openly declaring a mission of "racial purification," which they believed was necessary to maintain the pure "Aryan" bloodline to rule the world.
The Aryans' ancestors were an ancient nomadic tribe from the southern Ural Mountains in Russia, and during their migrations, their descendants interacted with the four great ancient civilizations.
One significant reason why the Germans during World War II considered them as their ancestors was that the fall of ancient India, Egypt, and Babylon was closely related to the Aryans.
The only exception might be the Aryans who marched eastward, and according to current archaeological data, Wu Ding of the Shang Dynasty successfully stopped the Aryan invasion.
Of course, because China was impoverished and weak during the Second World War, the Germans overlooked this past disgrace. After all, after their defeat in World War I, the Germans were lacking in national confidence and urgently needed to boost morale.
Interestingly, the leader of Germany at the time greatly admired the famous German philosopher Nietzsche, who in turn highly revered Zoroaster, the founder of Zoroastrianism.
In fact, the swastika symbol representing the Aryans was widely spread in many ancient civilizations and religions, usually symbolizing the sun or fire, and later, in some religions like Indian Buddhism, it came to represent good fortune.
What’s amusing is that the notion of blonde hair and blue eyes as characteristics of pure Aryans is nonsense. Those are actually traits of the Germanic people, whereas true Aryans should look more like Iranians or high-caste Indians.
More amusing still is that today's global genetic maps show that the Aryan genes are actually quite scarce in modern Germans, while they are relatively purer in Russians and Poles.
But regardless, the Germans at that time invested a great deal of effort into this, even sending a professional expedition to India, the legendary homeland of the Aryans.
Given the current situation here, it’s very likely that the people in this room had some connection with that expedition, and most importantly, that connection did not disappear after Germany's defeat in World War II.
It’s possible that after the chaos following World War II subsided, someone in Germany rekindled this secret connection and began long-term communication.
This theory aligns with some of the information the Golden Dawn had collected, as they had previously discovered that the Thule Society had acquired a large number of occult items related to India.
This isn’t too surprising, considering that the bizarre occult theory concocted by Nazi Germany was heavily influenced by India's legendary supernatural powers.
However, finding so many artifacts related to India wasn’t easy, especially since they were Germans and not British, which led to speculation that they had a secret smuggling route.
But as the Golden Dawn dug deeper, they only managed to capture some peripheral figures and failed to locate the core of the smuggling operation in India.
Now it seems that it wasn’t just a scattered smuggling operation but an entire underground smuggling network. The reason it wasn’t discovered earlier is that no one ever imagined that the core of this smuggling network wasn’t based in India.
But it makes sense when you think about it. The former British Indian colony wasn’t just limited to today’s India; it also included Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and other countries.
So, placing the core of the smuggling network in Pakistan was quite reasonable. However, from another perspective, it was merely the core of a smuggling network and didn’t involve other aspects.
This also explains why Liang En and his team found it strange before: because these were two related but entirely different groups, naturally leading to some differences.
