Chapter 929: Transport

"This card is—it's too advanced." After seeing the introduction of the [Faraday Cage (SR)] card, Liang En fell into deep thought.

In the past, every card he found related to skills was either of ancient extraordinary powers or old, mundane skills. He had never encountered, nor even imagined, such a modern skill with practical applications.

"I think this skill likely comes from the lightning defense capabilities of these metal-structured buildings. I've heard that many such buildings have survived lightning strikes intact." After explaining this to Joan of Arc, he pondered for a moment before speaking.

"However, in the past, such a skill would have had little significance since being struck by lightning is a rare event, and it wasn’t easy to prepare for it beforehand."

"But no matter how you look at it, this skill in ancient times would have been considered a miracle. After all, it's almost unheard of for someone to survive a lightning strike unscathed, so it's no surprise that those who could achieve this were regarded as gods."

"No one could have imagined that this legendary skill would have additional uses today, given how extensively humanity now utilizes electromagnetic technology."

Mastering this skill made Liang En a walking electromagnetic shield. If he found the right location, he could easily disrupt the power supply or communication systems of an entire area.

Of course, aside from causing damage, this skill had another practical application: destroying nearby electronic devices that might be used for eavesdropping, ensuring the privacy of conversations.

Given how common and cheap various surveillance devices have become, no one could guarantee that their conversations wouldn't be transmitted elsewhere by some nearby device.

While this might not be a fatal issue for others, it was something Liang En had to avoid at all costs since they had too many secrets that could not be exposed.

This card was a significant gain for both of them, and it put Liang En in an excellent mood to face the next task.

The next task was to transport the artifacts to their destination. Unlike before, this time the destination was a parking lot inside the port, mainly a place where vehicles that had already passed customs were parked.

Normally, vehicles that passed customs checks would be loaded onto ships immediately. However, in some special cases, these vehicles would stay in this temporary parking lot overnight and be loaded onto the ships the next day.

Of course, this parking lot was only for overnight stays. If the cargo needed to stay longer in the port area due to inspections, it would be temporarily stored in a customs warehouse until the checks were complete.

The strictness of these procedures was due to the fact that these items had already passed customs inspections and could be directly loaded onto the ship, so every effort was made to prevent smuggling and other illegal activities.

Because of this, the entire parking lot was guarded and equipped with numerous hidden surveillance devices to minimize the chances of illegal activities.

However, for Liang En and his companion, this defense was virtually non-existent. With the help of the raven's eyes, they quickly identified the blind spots between the surveillance devices and the guards' lines of sight and slipped inside.

The surveillance in this area was primarily aimed at preventing anyone from tampering with the contents of the containers, so it wasn’t as strict about individual infiltration as one might expect.

Of course, less strict doesn’t mean non-existent. However, their defenses were designed to counter ordinary humans, not superhumans like Liang En, which allowed them to successfully infiltrate.

Given the current state of human society, it was inconceivable that anyone would consider how to defend against someone suddenly appearing in a location through spatial movement.

"We're going to be quite busy because our target has prepared 14 vehicles. Each vehicle's container can hold 25 tons of cargo, so we'll need to spend some time balancing the load."

After a brief assessment of the parking lot, Liang En spoke. From the condition of the containers and the positioning of the vehicles, it was clear that the other party had done everything they could to facilitate Liang En's actions.

Additionally, the current global economic situation also worked in Liang En's favor. Due to the scarcity of containers, it had become common to transport empty or half-empty containers.

This explained why the presence of over a dozen empty containers here didn’t raise any suspicions. According to Liang En's assessment, at least half of the containers being hauled by the vehicles in the parking lot were completely empty, clearly just being transported back.

For the next hour or so, Liang En and his companion moved among the target vehicles, busily storing and securing the artifacts inside the containers.

This was a somewhat complex task for Liang En. He had to teleport back to the cave outside Las Vegas to retrieve the items with his spatial ability and then place them into the containers.

Undoubtedly, the entire process consumed a large amount of legendary power, which was why Liang En insisted on carrying out the operation in the early morning.

Indeed, the darkness of early morning provided them with sufficient cover. Although modern technology has made it easier to operate at night, humans' biological clocks make them naturally slower during these hours.

More importantly, after midnight, Liang En’s legendary power would be fully replenished. Considering that he could refresh this power once a day, it meant he could use four times the legendary power in a short period, compensating for the lack of extraordinary power.

"It's finally done—" By 3 a.m., after working for several hours, Liang En and Joan of Arc finally had a moment to catch their breath, as they had completed the storage of all the artifacts.

However, after withdrawing from the parking lot, they didn’t leave immediately. Instead, they ordered three ravens to stay behind and monitor the area before they departed.

For Liang En, knowing the exact spatial coordinates of the vehicles meant that if the ravens detected anything unusual, he could instantly teleport himself into the containers and retrieve the artifacts.

Fortunately, the night passed without incident. Although a patrol team approached the containers at one point, it was just a routine patrol, and they didn’t conduct any inspections.

The next morning, through the eyes of the ravens, Liang En saw the drivers arrive at the vehicles, start the engines, and transport the containers to a large container ship owned by Huayuan.

"Everything is going smoothly." While working out in the gym three days later, Liang En suddenly said to Joan of Arc, who was nearby, after seeing that the ship had loaded all the containers and left the dock.

"That’s definitely good news." Joan of Arc put down the dumbbell in her hand, turned around, and smiled.

"I think those artifacts that were once stolen should finally be able to return home, to the place they were separated from for decades. Without a doubt, this is a good thing."
