Chapter 48: A Great Harvest!
"Magic Field?"
Lady Seagull was slightly puzzled. Did this master intend to cultivate magical plants himself? Or was it for his disciples?
How thoughtful! Her own mentor had never been so considerate of her.
After her moment of reflection, she consulted the Deep Blue Terminal for information. Once she received the answer, she nodded. "We can provide you with three methods for establishing a Magic Field."
As she spoke, she took out three pieces of parchment and handed them to Croyer.
Croyer accepted them and quickly but carefully examined their contents.
As expected of the Holy Spring Chamber of Commerce, they had provided comprehensive options.
The first option was to provide the Holy Spring Chamber of Commerce with environmental data and a terrain map, allowing them to tailor a Magic Field of appropriate size and mana tier.
The second option was to obtain a Magic Array, whose size and mana tier could be adjusted within a certain range. Its highest possible settings would not exceed a Level 5 Magic Field in mana density or an area of 5,000 hectares.
The third option was a peculiar magical plant that could gradually transform the land, making it suitable for growing magical plants of a corresponding attribute.
Each of these plants cost ten Tier-2 Magic Crystals, or 1,000 Tier-1 Magic Crystals.
To be honest, Croyer personally preferred the third option. The first required submitting a terrain map and environmental data—even though they claimed it wouldn’t be leaked, he didn’t feel comfortable with that.
The second option seemed more suitable for large plains. His island environment wasn’t quite ideal for it.
First, space was limited. Second, he lacked high-tier magical plants. If he shrunk the field to around 1,000 hectares or even smaller, it would require at least Tier-4 magical plants to withstand the mana concentration.
Thus, the only feasible choice was the third option.
According to the description, this magical plant could not only create different attribute-based Magic Fields but could also increase the Magic Field’s tier over time as mana accumulated.
Its potential was technically unlimited—though that would depend on how long one nurtured it and how many resources were invested.
Honestly, a strategic-level magical plant like this would never have been offered if not for the Holy Spring Chamber of Commerce seeking to rectify a thousand-year-old oversight.
But their reputation was paramount! The Deep Blue Terminal had determined that this was necessary.
…
Croyer nodded indifferently. "Then I’ll take this one. It will make a fine gift for my disciple."
"Understood. Once you leave here, the Magic Spring Jellyfish and Magic Field Grapevine will be delivered to you."
"Hmm."
Croyer nodded, then changed the topic. "I don't intend to provide too much Morning Dew Magic Potion."
"You…" Lady Seagull initially thought that Croyer was dissatisfied with their previous conversation and was about to try and persuade him. She was genuinely fascinated by this unprecedented magic potion.
Moreover, the Deep Blue Terminal had given it a high evaluation, confirming that it would generate considerable profit for the chamber.
"Don't be in such a rush."
However, Croyer gestured for her to remain calm. "This Morning Dew Magic is the latest result of my research and experiments. It is currently unstable and has a low production rate.
"You may have noticed that while its magic is quite unique and special, the actual tier it reaches isn't high."
"…That is something I was wondering about," Lady Seagull admitted, nodding. "At most, it has the purity of a Tier-1 Magic Crystal. For master alchemists like us, that is quite low."
"Then you should also understand that, for people of our level, such a low-tier magic potion would be an insult if publicly displayed."
"Hmph. If it weren’t for the actions of your chamber, I wouldn’t have considered offering this unfinished product to test your sincerity."
Croyer's tone carried a deeper meaning. "It seems your chamber is still worthy of continued cooperation—unlike before."
Lady Seagull could only respond with an awkward smile, internally cursing the rookie in the magic material identification department once again. She also decided that this matter must be reported.
Simply holding someone accountable wouldn't be enough.
Losing any high-value customer was an unacceptable loss for the Holy Spring Chamber of Commerce!
After successfully portraying himself as an aloof master, Croyer then said, "Since you've made an acceptable compensation, I'm willing to sell you the magic potion.
"I will, however, raise the price to 30 Magic Crystals per bottle. In the future, if I produce higher-tier magic potions, I will contact you first.
"I currently have five bottles. Along with the remaining Magic Crystals from earlier, I'd like to exchange them for magical plants suitable for my disciple.
"Do you have any low-tier magical plant seeds that are good for cultivation?"
"So, you truly are a master who cares for your disciples… Hmm, I can recommend two magical plants that are excellent for beginners."
After complimenting him, she produced another parchment and handed it over.
"Oh."
Croyer took a brief glance, his eyes narrowing slightly—it contained information about two magical plants: Tranquil Bell Lily and Firm Earth Tuber.
Both were Tier-2 magical plants, but they were perfectly suited for Croyer.
The Tranquil Bell Lily could have its pollen and petals extracted to produce essential oils that enhance meditation efficiency for mages.
The Firm Earth Tuber had high yields and, when consumed continuously, could strengthen the body.
One for mages, one for knights or warriors.
Clearly, this recommendation had been carefully considered.
They were a perfect fit.
"Alright, I'll take these two," he agreed.
Lady Seagull seemed to pause for a moment before replying, "Based on your requirements, Tranquil Bell Lily costs one Tier-2 Magic Crystal per ten plants, while Firm Earth Tuber costs one Tier-2 Magic Crystal per twenty plants.
"I consulted the Deep Blue Terminal, and it has agreed to count your magic potion sales as one Tier-2 Magic Crystal.
"So, the quantity will be split evenly. Master Star Spirit, does this work for you?"
"That works."
"Excellent. According to chamber policy, these magical plants have been specially treated—after two generations, they will lose their ability to reproduce.
"If you wish to purchase a magic formula to maintain their vitality, you will need to reach Tier-4 membership and spend 1,000 Tier-2 Magic Crystals." Her voice carried a trained, formal tone.
"…"
What black-hearted merchants! So they wouldn’t let him grow them indefinitely. But getting two generations of crops was already decent. He had expected that they wouldn't let him cultivate them forever.
Otherwise, how would they continue making money?
He nodded, signaling that he understood.
"Then, our deal is complete. Once you place the magic potions into the system, your seeds will be delivered.
"I look forward to doing business with you again."
Lady Seagull gave a slight bow, and in an instant, the entire Deep Blue Illusion disappeared.
Croyer returned to reality. He shook his head to clear his mind and immediately crafted four more bottles of magic potion, tossing them into the spring water.
The spring water bubbled intensely, and a huge pile of items spilled out like a heavenly shower, filling half of his laboratory.
At the same time, a female voice echoed:
"We apologize for any inconvenience. Your membership points have been updated.
"Current membership points: 3,554.
"Next tier upgrade requires 10,000 points.
"Happy shopping. We wish you a swift advancement to higher membership levels."
As the Holy Spring illusion faded, only Croyer remained in his laboratory, gazing at his massive haul with a beaming smile.
Tomorrow, he would begin transforming the land around his castle!
