Volume 2 - Chapter 46: The Young Man’s Fearsome Reputation - Part 1
Bang!
The arrow veered off course. The Dragon Mouse narrowly avoided it, but the arrow struck a nearby mountain peak. In an instant, the peak was obliterated, its surface encased in ice, freezing every plant upon it.
“What kind of power is this?!”
Several Three Immortals Realm demonic creatures were utterly shocked. This young man, with just a casual gesture, seemed to overpower heaven and earth. His immense ability to manipulate objects was far beyond theirs, no wonder he could tear through demons barehanded.
Li Hao no longer held back. Striding forward, he appeared before the Dragon Mouse as if he had teleported.
Raising his fist, he brought it down like a crushing force. The punch carried the essence of sword intent, and combined with his current physical strength, it pierced forward like a spear.
The Dragon Mouse saw this human dare to approach so closely and bared its teeth in a sinister grin. It didn’t evade but instead lunged at Li Hao with its jaws wide open.
Its mouth was filled with sharp teeth, akin to countless blades capable of tearing through gold and stone.
But Li Hao simply raised his hand, letting the creature bite down, while his other fist came crashing down upon its head.
The savage brutality of this young man’s attack left the other demons in awe. This wasn’t how humans were supposed to fight.
“You’re courting death!”
The Dragon Mouse was overjoyed and bit down with all its might. Its bite force was terrifying, capable of piercing even a true dragon.
Yet suddenly, its teeth felt as though they had clamped down on a divine weapon. The countless razor-sharp edges pressed into Li Hao’s skin, but all they managed to do was cause a slight indentation—no sign of breaking through at all.
In that moment of stunned disbelief, Li Hao’s fist landed with a resounding bang, driving through the Dragon Mouse’s skull and leaving a gaping hole. The impact shattered its cranium, and blood spurted from the top of its head.
As the Dragon Mouse reeled from the blow, dazed and disoriented, Li Hao’s bitten arm turned to grasp its upper jaw. His body arched, and his feet stepped into the gap of its lower jaw. With a violent motion, he pried its mouth open.
The Dragon Mouse snapped back to consciousness, its eyes flashing with terror. Though it was in the Undying Realm, its body suddenly seemed weaker compared to this human youth.
The boy was like the cub of some ferocious beast.
The Dragon Mouse frantically attempted to fling Li Hao away, desperate to distance itself. It could sense the looming shadow of death.
But Li Hao’s arm pierced through its upper jaw, and with consecutive punches, he shattered the sharp teeth within its mouth, dazing the creature with blows that rattled its very soul.
“Quick, stop him!”
The other demons, horrified, scrambled to intervene, rushing to rescue the Dragon Mouse.
Arrows rained down once again, but a heavenly avatar materialized behind Li Hao. With a single motion, it caught the arrows and plunged one into the Dragon Mouse’s skull.
A fiery cloud spewed forth from another demon, but Li Hao’s heavenly avatar exhaled a breath of immortal qi that collided with the flames, reducing them to nothing.
“Break!”
Li Hao’s arms erupted with power as he roared. With a forceful motion, he ripped the Dragon Mouse’s head apart.
Blood sprayed everywhere, and the Dragon Mouse let out a final wail. Its soul fled from its ravaged body, attempting to escape.
Before it could retreat far, a dragon’s roar echoed, and the soul was devoured and torn apart by Long Xiao.
Li Hao flung the Dragon Mouse’s lifeless corpse aside and turned his gaze toward the remaining demons. His heavenly avatar surged forward, charging at a flame-covered fire lion.
The fire lion roared in fury, unleashing a sea of fire from which a golden blade-like leaf emerged, a weapon of some demonic origin.
The heavenly avatar waved its hand, extinguishing the flames before seizing the golden leaf and slamming it into the fire lion’s skull.
The fire lion howled in agony and fled in panic.
“Help me!”
Its cries for help echoed as it escaped.
In the distance, Feng Shanjun and Bai Shenjun observed the scene with heavy expressions. They could see that this boy was at the Three Immortals Realm, yet his overwhelming strength far surpassed other demons of the same level.
Moreover, his physical body was astoundingly tough. Even the Dragon Mouse’s bite couldn’t harm him—only divine weapons might leave a mark.
“Hmph, no wonder he dared to charge in alone,” Feng Shanjun muttered, golden flames flickering in his eyes. He turned to Bai Shenjun and said, “The other one is yours. Don’t get in my way!”
With that, he let out a phoenix cry, his body transforming into a fiery phoenix wreathed in a sea of flames as he dove toward Li Hao.
The other demons scattered in fear, knowing that this boy wasn’t someone mere Three Immortals Realm demons could kill easily. He was like the second-generation heirs of the Divine General Mansion—elite warriors who, at the peak of the Three Immortals Realm, could single-handedly challenge a dozen of their kind.
Li Hao caught up to the fleeing fire lion, smashing its skull with a single slap. Its soul was knocked loose, and he was about to destroy it when he sensed scorching flames approaching.
Turning his head, he saw a phoenix engulfed in flames flying straight at him.
Even before it reached him, the searing heat threatened to boil the very air.
Li Hao narrowed his eyes but remained unflustered. With a swift strike, he obliterated the fire lion’s escaping soul before turning to face the fiery phoenix head-on.
“Extremely Yang Divine Flame!”
Feng Shanjun roared in fury as he saw Li Hao kill the demon right in front of him. To him, this was a direct challenge to his authority.
A divine radiance erupted, and a fiery mass surged forth like a blazing sun.
Li Hao didn’t dodge. Instead, he summoned the Long Xiao Sword, and his heavenly avatar returned to his side. The avatar gripped the divine sword, which grew larger in its grasp.
The heavenly avatar stepped forward, unleashing a massive slash.
Flames exploded, scattering like countless fiery sparks as the intense heat distorted the air.
Li Hao stood amidst the scorching heat, his black hair flowing in the fiery winds. Activating the heavenly avatar, he wielded the divine sword and charged forward.
Feng Shanjun screeched in anger, whipping up cyclones with his wings. Countless tiny phoenix-like flames emerged, resembling bright embers, swarming toward Li Hao.
At the same time, Feng Shanjun dove in, his talons like deadly hooks, aiming to shatter the True Dragon Sword Soul within the Long Xiao Sword.
Li Hao didn’t raise his sword to block. Instead, he stood still.
Raising both hands, a shadowy figure appeared behind him—Unbreakable Body Refinement · Immovable King!
The figure, like a deity’s projection, clasped its hands together in a serene pose. As Li Hao lifted his arms, it mirrored his movements, unleashing a barrage of punches.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Explosions echoed as the fire phoenix illusions shattered under the onslaught of punches, dispersing into a sea of flames around Li Hao.
Despite being surrounded by the fiery inferno, Li Hao’s body remained unscathed. Not a single strand of his black hair was singed, and it gleamed with a divine sheen.
He stood tall amidst the blaze, his gaze fixed on the fiery phoenix. His heavenly avatar had already engaged Feng Shanjun in a fierce battle.
Blows and slashes were exchanged in rapid succession, the avatar’s sword unleashing countless strikes. Feng Shanjun retaliated with lethal talons and explosive attacks, all aimed at destroying the sword soul within the Long Xiao Sword. However, the sword soul moved fluidly with the Long Xiao Sword, which in turn followed the heavenly avatar’s movements.
The Taiji Qian Kun Sword created a swirling shadow that enveloped Feng Shanjun. No matter how fierce his attacks, they dissipated like a breeze.
“Why won’t you die?!”
Bai Shenjun’s voice carried a mocking undertone as he watched the battle unfold.
Feng Shanjun was furious, glaring at Bai Shenjun. His momentary distraction gave the heavenly avatar an opening. A slash struck Feng Shanjun’s abdomen, scattering the flames around him as he stumbled back with a pained cry.
Though Bai Shenjun’s words were taunting, they were meant to provoke. Watching Li Hao’s relentless assault, Bai Shenjun grew increasingly uneasy.
This boy, still only at the Three Immortals Realm, could fight a demon king and hold his ground. The sheer power was terrifying.
Back in Yanbei, even Li Tiangang’s battles against demons hadn’t been this overwhelming.
This boy was only fourteen yet had already surpassed his father.
If given more time to grow, the Great Yu Divine Dynasty would see the rise of another true immortal!
He must be eliminated!
Bai Shenjun turned his gaze toward a spot in the void, sensing a faint presence. Whoever it was had locked their energy onto him. Any rash move on his part would provoke retaliation.
If the stalemate were to break, Feng Shanjun would have to do it himself.
“True Phoenix Blood!”
Roaring in pain and fury, Feng Shanjun unleashed his ultimate technique. His golden flames burned brighter, swirling into vortexes around him.
His aura surged violently as he once again charged at Li Hao’s heavenly avatar. His flames coalesced into a beam of crimson light, imbued with the laws of the Dao, streaking straight toward the heavenly avatar.
Li Hao sensed the attack and noted how his mastery of the Supreme Body allowed him to perceive the trajectory of the Dao laws. He could clearly feel where the attack was aimed, granting him a slight edge in anticipating his opponent.
“So this is the power of a demon king? Still not enough!” Li Hao shouted, his voice reverberating through the heavens, shaking the surrounding demons to their core.
Even the bird demons observing from Tianji Hall in the distance shivered with fear, their scalps tingling.
Immortal qi surged around Li Hao, forming a dense haze of radiance. His heavenly avatar gleamed brightly, appearing as a giant wielding the divine sword, roaring as it struck.
The slash unleashed countless flowers blooming in the air, though they withered amidst the flames. The sword energy, though weakened by the fiery blaze, tore through space and landed on Feng Shanjun.
The strike created a pitch-black rift resembling a gate of reincarnation.
The beam of crimson light shattered upon impact, its fragments devoured by the black void. Feng Shanjun’s face twisted in horror—what kind of sword technique was this?
Li Hao’s heavenly avatar closed in, its sword slashing again and again. Each strike bore down on Feng Shanjun’s crown, forcing him to retaliate by summoning waves of phoenix fire that engulfed the avatar in flames.
The intense heat distorted the avatar, and Li Hao felt a sharp pain through his soul. His eyes glinted coldly, and he recalled the heavenly avatar.
The Long Xiao Sword floated back into his grasp.
If the heavenly avatar wasn’t enough, then his true form would have to suffice!
Sword in hand, Li Hao charged into the sea of flames. The chains of phoenix fire wrapped around him snapped upon contact with his body.
Step by step, Li Hao advanced through the inferno, his eyes gleaming as he swung his sword.
The force of his strike parted the fiery sea, slashing into the phoenix’s chest.
Blood sprayed as Feng Shanjun cried out in agony, retreating hundreds of meters.
The phoenix stared at the boy walking through the flames with disbelief. Even its True Phoenix Flame couldn’t harm him!
It could see that although Li Hao’s body bore slight burn marks, his bones and muscles remained untouched.
This was a flame that even other demon kings would fear—something they couldn’t endure without shedding blood.
Li Hao pressed forward, celestial energy channeling through him, gathering in his arm. With a powerful swing, his sword unleashed another devastating arc of energy.
The strike split Feng Shanjun’s defensive flames and sent him crashing into a mountain.
The surrounding Three Immortals Realm demons were dumbfounded.
This youth was terrifying, beating down a demon king as if it were nothing!
“You—!”
Feng Shanjun’s blood boiled with fury. His pride as a phoenix, a creature of noble lineage, was shattered by this relentless assault.
Before he could rise, Li Hao manipulated the surrounding force to create a massive hand that ripped a nearby mountain from the earth and smashed it down on Feng Shanjun.
The mountain struck with a thunderous roar, as if the heavens themselves were collapsing.
Feng Shanjun’s golden blood spilled beneath the weight of the mountain.
He roared in rage, activating his Undying Force. The golden flames around him surged, melting the mountain into molten lava.
Li Hao, unperturbed, raised the Long Xiao Sword and slashed again.
This strike fused the Falling Snow Sword Technique with the essence of an avalanche’s collapse, its might bolstered by immortal qi. The moment the blade swung, it was as if ten thousand snow-covered mountains crumbled simultaneously.
Feng Shanjun barely freed himself from the molten debris before the strike forced him back to the ground. A massive gash split his chest.
The True Dragon wrapped around Li Hao’s arm amplified his strength, and his celestial energy, though waning, surged once more as he used the Seven-Star Illumination technique.
“Die!”
Li Hao gathered the force of heaven and earth into his foot, stomping down with unstoppable momentum.
Feng Shanjun’s pupils contracted as the aura of death closed in. Roaring, he flapped his wings, transforming his feathers into streams of blood and fire aimed at Li Hao.
For the first time, Li Hao felt the scorching heat through his skin.
But his eyes burned with defiance. Channeling the Supreme Body, he expelled waves of force that pushed the flames aside. With one swift motion, his sword cleaved into the phoenix’s chest, exposing its massive heart.
Li Hao reached out to seize the heart, but Feng Shanjun let out a furious roar. Behind him, an ancient cry echoed faintly from the void.
