Chapter 512: Harvest

Upon confirming that the brass they had found was indeed the legendary orichalcum and further deducing that this place was likely the prototype of Atlantis, the Greeks present were overjoyed.

This discovery entirely belonged to them and could bring continuous benefits in the future, most importantly proving the splendor of ancient Greek civilization.

This last point was particularly crucial for Greece, which was currently in an economic crisis, as this rare good news among a slew of bad news could boost morale.

At this moment, Liang En decided to end his excavation activities because he had been out for some time and naturally did not want to continue after obtaining the cards.

To be honest, archaeology, especially field archaeology, is extremely arduous and particularly boring, so since there were so many capable and willing people to do this work, Liang En naturally had no reason to stay.

Liang En's departure was also a good thing for others, as he had been dominating the excavation work.

His departure would provide enough space for others to develop and gain their own glory in this archaeological activity, rather than being overshadowed by Liang En's brilliance.

That evening, a grand banquet was held at the hotel to bid farewell to Liang En. Since they didn't want too many formalities, they simply rented a side hall of the hotel's restaurant for a buffet.

"Now the peak of the live broadcast has reached 1.5 million viewers. I think these people are likely drawn by your capture of those thieves disguised as police."

After finishing the wine and giving a short speech, the editor, who would leave with Liang En the next day, came over with a glass of champagne and said to Liang En.

"Honestly, even as a scholar, you have overturned everyone's expectations. Compared to normal scholars, you are more like those historians or archaeologists in movies, fully satisfying the public's fantasies."

"But as I repeatedly emphasized in the live broadcast, some so-called archaeologists in movies are just cultural relics destroyers. So, I kept stressing the importance of cultural relics protection." Liang En shrugged helplessly.

After all, the public prefers to accept the information they want to accept and likes dramatic content. Hence, serious archaeology and cultural relics protection content are indeed hard to attract much interest.

Nevertheless, certain things must be repeatedly mentioned. At least Liang En felt that even if he couldn't have much positive influence on everyone, he should strive not to have a negative impact, which is part of his social responsibility.

After eating and drinking for more than two hours, Liang En went upstairs to rest, citing the long flight the next day. However, after taking a bath and lying in bed, he did not sleep but checked the new cards he had obtained this time.

He had obtained a total of nine cards this time, seven of which were common cards, including three "Detection (N)" and four "Legendary Power (N)." Compared to previous explorations, the number of "Legendary Power" cards obtained this time was obviously more.

This was easy to understand, as the legends of Atlantis were closer to myths rather than real historical legends, thus more conducive to obtaining such cards.

As for the other two cards, one was a reinforcement card, and the other was a skill card. The reinforcement card was "Classical Goldsmith (R)," and the skill card was "Son of the Sea (SR)."

**Classical Goldsmith (R): As the place where the mythical metal orichalcum was smelted, this ancient city called Syra mastered advanced metal smelting techniques in that era.

For the people of that era, smelting metals was like magic. Those craftsmen could use fire to produce high-quality metals from stones, which was akin to a magical skill.

Therefore, this metal, considered a divine gift, would naturally be made into exquisite ornaments or religious items by skilled craftsmen and then given to people of high status.

Reinforcement Card (single-use), consuming this card can allow one to master the metal and gemstone processing techniques of ancient goldsmiths before modern technology. Note, only skills are mastered, not physical enhancement, nor design enhancement.**

"I can try making my own jewelry in the future," Liang En thought as he looked at the card's content. "But I probably won't have much time for this, and it doesn't involve various tools, so the skill feels somewhat limited."

Unlike the imagined blacksmiths, these pure jewelers had very poor skills in making iron and iron alloys, roughly equivalent to an apprentice blacksmith. Therefore, making swords or knives was basically out of the question.

Fortunately, unlike the ancient times, after entering the industrial era, traditional blacksmiths were reduced to a few individuals preserving cultural heritage, while jewelers remained relatively unchanged. So, this card was suitable for the current situation.

After storing this card, Liang En focused on the "Son of the Sea (SR)" card. After reading the card's description, he felt that cards obtained from myth-related relics were indeed more valuable than those from other places.

**Son of the Sea (SR): Poseidon, the sea god in ancient Greek mythology, one of the Twelve Olympian Gods, and the legendary creator and protector of Atlantis.

When Poseidon was angry, sea monsters would appear in the sea. When he wielded his trident, he could easily raise monstrous waves, cause storms and tsunamis to make continents sink and the earth shatter, and even smash everything and trigger earthquakes.

When his chariot ran on the sea, the waves would calm, and dolphins would follow around.

As the inheritor of this power, one could naturally gain a series of sea-related abilities. As a power modeled after a legendary deity, this card could provide the cardholder with two sea-related abilities.

Skill Card (permanent), Passive Ability: Within 100 nautical miles of a water boundary, the closer the user is to the sea or a saltwater lake, the stronger their physique, up to three times the normal strength when far away, with no bonus beyond 100 nautical miles.

Additionally, the user's affinity with the sea is enhanced, allowing them to easily discern sea winds, ocean currents, recognize marine life, and automatically master a series of basic survival skills at sea.

Of course, this skill is geographically limited. When far from the sea or saltwater lakes, the enhanced power gradually disappears. The cardholder can also refuse to accept this enhancement.

Active Ability: The cardholder can activate the water control ability of the card, controlling an entire water area centered on themselves, avoiding drowning, and manipulating surrounding water flows upon contact.

Each activation consumes one legend point to maintain for five minutes, affecting a water area within a 100-meter radius centered on the user. Each additional legend point can increase the radius by 100 meters or the duration by five minutes.**
