Chapter 409: Amadeus

Having wandered too long in dreams and lived multiple lives, returning to the reality of the present timeline felt strangely unfamiliar. No one called me Gren, Harnen, or Number One. The air touching my skin was clean and pure, unlike the slums, and the faint sound of birds chirping outside the window was unheard in forests covered with dark alleys and starving beasts.

Despite trying not to get too immersed in every fleeting moment of life, I inevitably became deeply engaged, and returning felt unreal. It felt like decades had passed since I last came back.

Kang Sihyun slowly sat up with a dazed expression and sat straight on the bed. The plush bed was distinctly modern. Staring blankly at the landscape of buildings shaped by advanced science and civilization, unlike the past, Kang Sihyun chewed over his memories after closing and opening his eyes.

The things he had seen.

Maybe they were in a dream, yet they seemed real at that place. Faces of people he had formed bonds with flashed through his mind, and their final expressions flickered before his eyes. Finally, Kang Sihyun pondered his conversations with God, reminiscing about the life of 'Yoo Sihyun.'

Initially, it seemed harmonious, but soon after escaping childhood, like in previous lives, misfortune began. He lost his parents to fire and sorrow and lived a difficult life.

It was a life befitting someone born into such an unfortunate fate.

Then, having been hit by a car while reading an internet novel his sister had given him, he ended up here.

Kang Sihyun reflected on his feelings when he first possessed Kang Sihyun's body in this world. He thought everything wasn't his, strongly felt he was merely borrowing it, and considered this a novel world, trying to distance himself from its characters. He often resented the god who had possessed him into this world, worried about his sister, and hated the innocent children here.

But then, realizing he couldn't leave this place, he slowly began to accept the children about a year ago, and recently, he had started to cherish them.

It was a time he felt he had changed a lot.

But it wasn't that.

It was just that he had been forgetting... he had been forgetting....

Kang Sihyun gripped the blanket tightly as emotions surged. The white blanket twisted and rolled into his hands. Clenching it as if to squeeze and vanish these feelings, Kang Sihyun closed his mouth tightly and tilted his head back.

Ah.

In the end.

In the end, I'm just going around in circles….

"Are you sure? Did you really feel it?"

"Yes, I tell you. I definitely felt the demi-god's energy. He's awakened."

During this contemplative moment, a noisy sound came from beyond the wall. Suddenly, the door that had been closed burst open, and the boys from Class A peeked through the opened door and then rushed over upon seeing Kang Sihyun sitting up on the bed.

"Sihyun!"

Those who called his name came to the bed and threw themselves at him. Haewoon hugged Kang Sihyun, holding his cheeks and turning them here and there, fussing over whether he was really okay. His touch and tone were exactly like Harris's reaction when he had collapsed, leaving Kang Sihyun speechless. A fist-sized sorrow choked his throat, suppressing the rising emotion from his toes.

Hamin pushed Haewoon away, admonishing him for what he was doing to someone who had just woken up. His tone was casual, like a ruffian in an alley, but his eyes clearly showed concern, almost fear. His behavior, nervously fussing over him after scolding and snapping at Haewoon, was just like Rodin's. And while they bickered, Gunwoo quietly took the spot next to the bed, checking his temperature and pulse, just like Sion would.

Quiet but kind. His touch always carried tenderness.

"Both of you, tone it down a bit. Why doesn't anything change?"

Suhwoo approached calmly, naturally pushing Haewoon and Hamin aside to take a spot. He casually reached out his hand and stroked Kang Sihyun's cheek, his hand slowly rising back up to touch his forehead. "He definitely doesn't have a fever," he murmured, then smiled slightly when he noticed Kang Sihyun staring intensely at him. His eyes curled and his lips lifted gracefully. He reminded Kang Sihyun of Yoo Seowoo, who had gone to the academy at a similar age.

Kang Sihyun remembered Day, who had looked at him with such a despairing gaze.

Upon reflection, Day was the only one who had directly witnessed his death. He had clearly watched the moment the fire engulfed him and people threw stones at him. Realizing this, he began to vaguely understand Yoo Seowoo's overly

concerned attitude, which did not seem to recall a past life but, if he were Day, his subconscious could well treat him that way.

After all, the subconscious best reveals a person's soul.

"Are you okay?"

This time, Haru approached and asked. He didn't touch or lean in like the others, but the concern in his red eyes was more apparent than anyone else's in the room. Facing those eyes, Kang Sihyun finally felt the choked sorrow meld into overwhelming emotion. He couldn't resist. Adam's soul, having to live another life and accumulating longing, finally realized the current reunion after regaining all memories.

It was like a waterfall. The reverse-flowing waterfall of emotions drenched his mind, leaving him unable to think. The last thing he remembered was Haru trying to protect him and dying.

He would do the same in this life.

If he were in danger, he would come to save him more devotedly than anyone else.

Knowing the outcome made him particularly concerned about Haru. Filled with regret for not treating him well in a past life, this time….

"Ah...."

Kang Sihyun sighed.

In the end, I....

In the end, I've come back around, to meet you all.

Because I missed you....

Adam could be called fanatical in his love for God. He loved the one who had brought him into existence, admired and pitied him. Thus, he lived a devoted life, but to God, Adam was not his first priority. God loved and cared for Eve and was devoted to her.

He gave his all but received less than eighty percent in return, a desperate love.

That was Adam's life until he finally received the first priority of affection in Gren's life. It was in Harnen's life that he first realized many cared for him, and in Number One's life that he first felt someone could sacrifice this much for him.

So Adam chose to see those who had loved him instead of the unrequited love towards God, even if it meant his soul would be shattered….

"Uh...."

A moan-like sob began to escape from Kang Sihyun's mouth. The worried children saw this and gathered closely around his bed. Why? Are you having a tough time? Are you in pain? The pouring concern was clearly laced with affection. That tightened his heart. Kang Sihyun looked at the children, soaked in Adam's emotions and his own long-held feelings.

The overflowing emotion became tears, plopping onto the blanket.

"…I'm sorry."

The first thing he wanted to say burst out. Kang Sihyun didn't even realize he was crying as he looked at the children and apologized. His gaze rolled to Suhwoo. He hadn't meant to show them such an end. Then his eyes moved to Haru. He shouldn't have treated him that way.

He regretted that.

"I'm sorry…."

Finally, Kang Sihyun burst into tears and apologized.

And.

"Thank you…."

If it weren't for you, would I have wanted to live a human life again?

Kang Sihyun held his breath and bit his lip, looking at Haewoon, Hamin, and Gunwoo. Above them, the unstoppable trio of the magic school overlapped, and tears sprang forth again.

The first emotion realized is that even the smallest thing feels significant, and even the most trivial matter feels special. But especially the emotion Kang Sihyun realized from them was the affection he had longed to receive.

It was so vast that Kang Sihyun took in all six children surrounding his bed before wiping away the tears blurring his vision. Hot breath surged up. Unable to hold it any longer, he let out all his breath, suddenly bursting into tears before the confused children.

"I love you."

"……."

"I, I love you…."

This single emotion was all he decided to endure. With this one heart.

"It's not just possession. I came here from the start to meet you…."

Even without memories of Adam, he had taken them to heart. Kang Sihyun looked at the children as he cried. Surprised faces, confused faces, blank faces—he couldn't help but laugh.

If he could meet you, he could endure hundreds of unhappy lives.
