Chapter 267: The Senior Sister's Letter

The Dark Luxury was truly an exceptional carriage! Wherever it had been before, it required no driver; the eight Demonflame Horses would pull it directly to its destination. Of the thirteen Dark Luxury carriages crafted over a hundred years ago, there were few places they hadn’t visited. Every time Charlot Mecklenburg operated the Dark Luxury, he experienced the thrill of what could only be described as "intelligent luxury driving."

When the walls of Silver Dove Castle appeared in the distance, Charlot let out a small sigh of relief. He did have a special affection for Silver Dove Castle, after all—it was what people often called a "place of past battles."

Charlot was just about to disembark from the carriage when Princess May suddenly called out, "Get in!"

Charlot hesitated, about to ask, "Which seat should I take?" when the carriage door swung open, revealing the heroic figure of Menielman Soumet inside the Dark Luxury.

Charlot nearly gasped out loud in astonishment.

Menielman seated herself beside him, opposite Princess May. The two women ignored everyone else’s presence entirely. Charlot was about to quietly open the door and slip away when Menielman remarked, "No need to leave. I just need a few words with Princess May."

Charlot thought to himself, "I don’t want to hear a single word," but his body obediently remained seated.

He was genuinely curious: what kind of connection could there be between Senior Sister Menielman and the Grand Princess? The two didn’t appear to harbor any grudges.

Princess May spoke in a low voice. "The last time, in Cappadocia, I spared your life. This time, don’t think you’ll have such an opportunity again."

Charlot mused, "There was a fight in Cappadocia, too?"

Menielman replied coolly, "Were it not for Fars Empire and its alliance with Ingrima, I wouldn’t have let you off."

In just a few words, the tension between the two escalated to explosive levels. Charlot, unwilling to see his beloved Dark Luxury destroyed—its value being in the thousands of gold écus—quickly interjected, "Shall we step outside first?"

Princess May responded dismissively, "There’s no need. Even sitting here, I can take down this calamity-causing little demon."

Charlot glanced at Senior Sister Menielman. Although the First Rose of the Empire had indeed stirred countless storms, she couldn’t possibly fit the title of a "calamity-causing demon." That term typically referred to figures with resplendent identities—like the empresses of vast empires, such as Daji, Yang Guifei, or even rulers like Wu Zetian, Catherine the Great, and Cleopatra.

Hmm... Charlot couldn’t quite recall Cleopatra’s actual name, only that the actresses portraying her in several films were all quite remarkable.

Menielman didn’t sneer or retort. Instead, with an air of nobility, she slowly removed her gloves and tossed them onto Princess May’s chest.

A faint pink battle energy shimmered around Princess May’s hands, ready to unleash a devastating strike at any moment.

The thought of the two Saint-rank women clashing, which could obliterate the Dark Luxury in an instant, made Charlot act. He pressed his hand against the carriage floor and shouted, "Retract!"

The Dark Luxury vanished in an instant, transforming into a ring.

A slender hand reached out, grabbing the ring. Princess May remarked icily, "Are you worried we’ll damage it?"

"It’s just a secondhand carriage," she continued, "hardly worth such a bold move."

With a burst of pink battle energy, Princess May sent Charlot flying out of the carriage.

In mid-air, Charlot activated Blood Glory, flipped over, and landed unscathed. He knew Princess May must have held back, likely out of consideration for his hard work as a messenger. Hastily, he called out, "That thing’s expensive! I’m not exactly rich, so of course I’d want to save money wherever I can!"

Menielman stepped forward, shielding Charlot. "Don’t target my junior. If you have the nerve, come at me instead."

Pink battle energy surged around Princess May as her feet slowly lifted off the ground.

Unwilling to be outdone, Menielman exuded an aura like a shadowy night, within which a Black Moon loomed. She, too, ascended into the air.

The two clashed in a fierce exchange of energy, their auras intertwining. Within moments, at least seven collisions erupted in rapid succession.

Caught in the aftermath of the confrontation between the two Saint-rank warriors, Charlot was sent tumbling several times before he managed to cast Swiftstep x10, retreating from the battlefield as quickly as possible.

Though he ran far, the residual energy from their clash still swept over him, pushing him back six or seven dozen paces. Turning back, he saw two radiant spheres of energy rising into the sky. Above, the clouds suddenly burst apart.

After watching for a moment, Charlot turned and headed toward Silver Dove Castle. Witnessing such battles was intriguing at first, but after seeing it enough times, it became just another spectacle.

Upon reaching Silver Dove Castle, Charlot received a grand welcome from the residents. Nearly every passerby greeted him and asked about the commotion in the sky. Charlot reassured everyone, telling them there was no need for concern, and returned to the castle itself.

Although the castle officially belonged to Baron Febollet, Charlot felt more like its true master. Even the castle servants treated him as such, preparing food for him without needing to be asked.

Charlot instructed the chef to prepare a few extra dishes. This time, he didn’t wait long—just about half an hour later, Senior Sister Menielman and Princess May both arrived in succession. Neither mentioned the battle they had just fought, behaving as though the other didn’t exist. Thanks to his mental fortitude, Charlot managed to endure the tension over the meal.

After eating, Princess May stood and coldly ordered, "In three days, we return to Sedona City."

Charlot quickly nodded, and Princess May left gracefully.

Once she was gone, Menielman turned to Charlot and warned, "Try not to provoke that madwoman. She’s Saint-rank, after all, and her mental state is extremely unstable."

"I need some supplies. Can you arrange them for me?"

Charlot had already prepared the requested items. Knowing Menielman’s subordinates were stationed nearby, he arranged for the supplies to be delivered to them.

Menielman departed Silver Dove Castle shortly after receiving the supplies, without staying any longer.

After seeing her off, Charlot found himself overjoyed at the prospect of having more than three days of free time. There was no way he would head back to Sedona City early.

He called for the castle servants to prepare a few barrels of ale, planning to enjoy the night and drink at his leisure. Just then, a castle steward approached, handing him a letter. "Miss Soumet left this letter for you. She instructed me to deliver it after her departure."

Charlot was curious as to why Menielman would leave him a letter.

As he opened it and read the first line, he nearly jumped in shock.

Menielman had revealed something truly astonishing!
