Chapter 471: Excavations and Gains (Part II)

【Atreus Treasury (SR)】For Liang En, this card was a significant find because it finally gave him a portable space to store various items.

Compared to the novels Liang En had read in his previous life, he felt that acquiring a personal space came much later than usual—most protagonists in those stories would gain this ability within the first three chapters.

Although this card came with various limitations in its use, these were likely connected to the card's origin—the Atreus Treasury itself.

Despite being officially called a treasury, it was actually a tomb, thus only items typically placed in a grave could be stored.

For the ancient Mycenaeans, a burial site could include, aside from the deceased, various funerary treasures, weapons, food, beverages, and sacrificial victims.

Therefore, the types of items Liang En could store were similar. For instance, he managed last night to store his cash and handgun at the campsite, along with a bottle of Coca-Cola. However, nearby tables, chairs, and clothes couldn't be stored.

However, on his first use, he realized that although this space largely prohibited living things, the items inside would cease to oxidize and remain in their original state.

Considering the vastness of this space, even using half of it for food and water would sustain Liang En for a month. This was invaluable for him as a professional archaeologist.

Thus, after his first experience opening and using the space, Liang En decided to expend some legendary points daily to maintain its existence.

Interestingly, storing items did not require Liang En to physically touch them; they could be transferred into the space as long as they were within a meter of him and visible to his eyes.

This was why even when driving, a smile often played across Liang En's face—acquiring such a practical skill was indeed a cause for celebration.

Today, his trip to Athens, the capital of Greece, wasn't just to meet Pierce and attend a trade fair. There was a crucial reason: he needed to find a historically significant lamp.

This sudden requirement wasn't born from a newfound interest in such items but stemmed from a new vocational skill card he had acquired recently.

Due to a considerable accumulation of legendary points lately, Liang En had tested the 【Atreus Treasury (SR)】 card yesterday and decided to spend some points to enhance his strength.

After a brief selection, Liang En quickly chose the 【Sun Apostle (Groom) (SR)】 card to activate a new vocational skill.

Injecting two points from his legendary limit, the card's border, which originally featured a lamp in gray, turned golden and emitted a soft but bright light.

【Light of Enlightenment (N), since ancient times, the power of light has been crucial for humans because only with light can the world function normally, and the light that dispels darkness brings various positive emotions.

Skill Card (Permanent) (Vocational Skill), capable of creating a lamp filled with the power of light, shining as brightly as the sun at noon. Only the user and designated individuals can see this light.

Using one legendary point, the lamp illuminates an area with a radius of 100 meters around it for an hour. Each additional point increases the range by 100 meters or extends the lighting duration by an hour.

This lamp can be fixed within a 25-meter radius around the user and adjusted during its usage time. The lamp does not exist physically and can pass through material barriers.

Moreover, the light produced by this lamp is harmful to creatures of darkness, causing a comprehensive DEBUFF suppression on any dark creatures entering its illuminated range.

Note, using this skill requires acquiring a lamp recognized by the card for modification and utilizing supernatural powers to convert it into a card; otherwise, the skill cannot be activated.】

Since the card, the Historical Explorer, came from another world, it possessing some supernatural powers was within Liang En's expectations.

However, in this world, such a skill had almost no practical use, as no supernatural forces existed here.

That meant there was no need to worry about ghosts or zombies rising from the graves; safety was higher, but the card's powers were unnecessary.

Nevertheless, Liang En didn't regret wasting this card; after all, he was an excavator of ancient relics. If such chaotic elements truly existed in this world, he couldn't continue in this profession.

Although this skill essentially served as night vision effective only for the user and designated individuals, being able to see as clearly at night as during the day was sufficient for him.

This was also why he was now hurriedly driving to Athens, hoping to quickly find a lamp that met the card's criteria to fully activate it.

In fact, he had tried last night in the hotel, but none of the lamps there, whether in the guest rooms, corridors, or even outside street lamps, met the requirements.

He then remembered that his card system was linked to history and

archaeology, so he figured he should look for an ancient lamp, and the antique fair currently held in Athens seemed promising.

The fair had started just three days ago, and Pierce had arrived early not out of necessity but because Greece was rich in various antiques, so he planned to spend some time purchasing goods.

Usually active only in Western Europe, Pierce rarely had the opportunity to come here; this trip was a perfect chance to stock up.

Fortunately, all preparations for the fair, including customs clearances for the antiques and replicas, had been completed before its commencement. So, when Liang En and his colleagues arrived at the designated hotel, they found Pierce looking less weary than expected.

"To be honest, you guys are a bit late," Pierce stepped forward and embraced Liang En, then stepped back to add, "But the fact that you've unearthed another important archaeological site so quickly is quite impressive and very helpful to me."
