The moment Liang En saw the card labeled "Blood Manipulation (SR)," he felt all his previous efforts were worthwhile, even if the novel that followed didn't meet his expectations. After all, the card was truly invaluable.
The card's effects were diverse, usable for both saving lives and for attack. For saving someone, it could either rapidly coagulate blood at a wound or control blood to stabilize a victim’s condition.
As for using this skill in combat, it could instantly vaporize 1000cc of blood inside a target's body, causing them to explode, or just solidify less than a milliliter of blood at critical points like the brain stem or cardiovascular system, effectively blocking the vessels and causing severe damage.
After understanding how to use the card, Liang En began experimenting with it in his room. Indeed, after communicating with the card mentally, he could sense the presence of chickens and fish on the first floor, and Joan of Arc bustling in the kitchen. True enough, after he fetched the chicken from the kitchen, he could distinctly feel the distribution of blood throughout its body.
Initially, he made a small cut on the chicken’s neck, letting a few drops of blood fall to the ground, then used his legendary points to vaporize the blood. Instantly, the blood turned into a large cloud of blood-red mist.
Considering that blood can expand over 1500 times its volume when vaporized, if blood is transferred into a sealed container and then vaporized using the "Blood Manipulation (SR)" card, those containers would instantly become deadly grenades.
After the first test, Liang En used the ability again on the chicken’s neck wound, and the bleeding promptly stopped, far quicker than normal healing.
Then, he solidified the blood in the chicken’s heart. In an instant, the chicken fell and twitched twice before dying.
Finally, he used another point to make the blood inside the chicken's body vanish, significantly simplifying the subsequent cleaning process.
"If this were used on a human..." Liang En thought as he plucked the chicken after pouring boiling water over its body, resolving never to misuse this skill.
Honestly, it was strange that the cards appeared now and not when he first acquired the castle, which was famously Dracula’s castle. Initially, when Liang En acquired the castle, there was no legend of Dracula, so not receiving a card then seemed reasonable.
Now, after signing the contract, legends about the castle began to circulate, making this castle as legendary as another castle Liang En owned in a different world, thus naturally deserving its corresponding card.
From this, Liang En confirmed that his card information actually came from two worlds. This encouraged him to think proactively about acquiring new cards by exploring differences between the worlds.
This was why Liang En was eager to write immediately after acquiring the castle; he had suspected this might solve his issue.
After all, spending a month writing a few books would attract more tourists to his castle, which was a gain regardless. Even if his guess was incorrect, it mattered little.
During this period, he wasn’t just writing; he also made some investments, such as purchasing two restaurants, various small shops selling tourist items, a bar, and a lodge in the village below the mountain.
Buying these properties cost about 700,000 Euros, mainly because the castle wasn’t very famous, and these small businesses in the remote village weren’t too expensive.
Liang En generally paid a 5% to 8% premium, so the sellers quickly decided to sell their properties.
During this process, they naturally asked why the new castle owner wanted to buy these businesses. Liang En openly shared his plans to properly manage the castle.
However, the shop and bar owners didn’t take his words to heart. They had seen many people attempt to develop the place, but after many years, the castle had shown little improvement.
So even when Liang En shared his plans, they chose to quickly convert their properties into Euros and leave for more convenient big cities or even emigrate.
There were even some unexpected gains; upon hearing of his large-scale purchases, several villagers approached Liang En, asking if he wanted to buy their homes and land.
Liang En, always looking for a bargain, did not refuse and spent over 500,000 Euros to buy eight properties near the street or near his other acquisitions.
From this, Liang En also learned about the local economic situation, which wasn’t very good, leading many villagers to dream of saving enough money to leave their homeland.
Indeed, another important reason was that these people didn’t believe Liang En could change the castle and the town beneath it, so they were more inclined to leave what they considered a poor hometown for a more prosperous place.
It was a missed opportunity for them, but some things are just like that; even if someone repeatedly tells you an opportunity is valuable, many won't believe it until the dust settles.
For Liang En, this was a good thing because it meant he could easily integrate some of the town's businesses, guiding the small town under the castle in future plans to align with an overall strategy.
Although the locals weren't optimistic about Liang En's plans for developing the castle, thinking it was just a rich outsider's fantasy, they emotionally supported it. They figured that whether or not his plan succeeded, it would still bring money to the town and help develop it, all without them having to invest money or effort. From this perspective, they were willing to cooperate with Liang En's actions.
The ease with which Liang En could buy property here was also greatly influenced by the locals' mindset; otherwise, the negotiations could have dragged on for a long time.
Fortunately, things were moving in a normal direction, so after spending a month and three weeks there, Liang En and his team finally wrapped up all their affairs and flew back to Dublin.
After all, he had already planned a trip to Japan at the end of spring and had communicated this with his friends in Japan, so now he needed to prepare properly for it.
