Chapter 154: Sports Day

Seowoo, Sia, Eunyul, Bandal.

What's with these new Four Heavenly Kings? Could it be that there are also Four Heavenly Kings in the third year?

Sihyun pondered with a complicated expression as he recalled the unusual names. Even if he tried not to think too much about it, he couldn't help but notice that they were not only exceptional in name but also in appearance. When the other students were called and when the four of them were called, the cheers were noticeably different. According to Haewoon, they all ranked in the top four for Irregular eradication.

Just when Sihyun thought it was not unreasonable to imagine himself as one of the Four Heavenly Kings, he closed his eyes tightly and pressed his temples firmly with his fingers.

Let's not dwell on idle thoughts. Maybe the names are just a bit special.

As he tried to reassure himself, he focused his eyes, which had been absent-minded due to deep thoughts. After the team assignments were done, there were fifteen people including him sitting in the Blue Team meeting room where they had gathered to divide into groups.

Sitting directly across from him happened to be Bandal, so as Sihyun glanced at his appearance, he noticed something strange and suddenly widened his eyes, which had been squinting. Come to think of it, it seemed like everyone in the meeting room was looking at him.

What's going on?

Is it because I'm a Quadruple?

He was formulating quite a plausible hypothesis when Haemin, who was suddenly beside him, lightly tapped Sihyun's shoulder.

"What are you thinking about?"

"...?"

He gave a gentle reprimand in a lowered voice. When Sihyun sent a look of confusion as to what he was suddenly talking about, Haemin smiled as if it were absurd and tapped Sihyun's leg under the table. It seemed to be a signal to pull himself together.

"What's the matter?"

"They were introducing themselves from the first year. It's your turn next."

"Oh..."

It was only then that Sihyun realized why people were looking at him. Somehow, even though it was his turn, he hadn't said anything, causing them to feel puzzled and uncomfortable. And it had lasted for over a minute.

Thinking that they were staring because I'm a Quadruple, Sihyun felt embarrassed and swallowed his pride. While attending the top-ranking school, he hadn't expected to be included among those with an excessive sense of self.

But wouldn't anyone end up like this if they lived the same life as me? Sihyun muttered inwardly as an excuse, then opened his mouth much later than everyone else.

"I'm Kang Sihyun from Class A of the first year."

As soon as the brief introductions concluded, people's gazes shifted subtly. After hearing the names, Sihyun noticed that some individuals seemed intrigued or wary, but amidst it all, he met the unchanged black pupils of someone observing him as if studying a person.

Bandal, who was watching Sihyun as if observing a specimen, spoke up first when it seemed like the person in front of him wouldn't add anything.

"What's your class?"

"Uh..."

It seemed like he had to mention his class as well. Sighing inwardly at having to say it even though everyone probably knew, Sihyun reluctantly breathed out as he felt the stares piercing him.

"I'm a Copy and Healer, water attribute class."

When the detailed class explanation ended longer than the names and grades, there was a murmur of surprise in the meeting room. Hearing whispers wondering if it was only up to two, Sihyun realized that the upperclassmen didn't know he had finished his third imprint.

The pouring stares made him uncomfortable, his throat tightening. While he had gotten used to the first-year students looking at him, it felt unsettling to have the upperclassmen, especially the A-class students, scrutinizing him.

"You only imprint two, but you've finished three? I heard something happened on the field trip, was that you?"

"Uh, yeah..."

As the person next to him spoke in a friendly manner, Sihyun nodded awkwardly, glancing at the boy with slightly dull green hair. He hadn't noticed his eye-catching hair color earlier because he was preoccupied with Seowoo and Bandal.

Meeting eyes with him, the boy smiled faintly and spoke.

"I'm Kim Jaehi from Class A of the second year. My class is Sniper, and my specialty is Bullseye, so just leave me on high ground. I'll take down anything. Oh, and there were misunderstandings because of my hair, but I'm a guy."

Pointing to his buzz-cut hair, he added. Given how long he introduced himself, he seemed like a sociable person. His pride in his skill was evident. While observing him, Sihyun confirmed that Bandal's gaze had shifted to Jaehi. With his introduction over, it signaled the end of the matter.

Seowoo, who smiled like a kindly social worker, offered his hand, and Sihyun nodded in response, feeling somewhat forlorn. It was as if he were facing a kind social worker.

Once the second-year introductions finished, the third-years introduced themselves. After the informal introductions of two seniors who freely used casual speech, Haehyuk spoke, opening with a slightly formal tone.

"I'm Seo Haehyuk from Class A of the third year. I'm a Buffer, and my specialty is Strategy. Nice to meet you."

Unlike the previous two, he ended his introduction in honorifics and glanced at Bandal sitting beside him. Under his gaze, the boy beside the table clasped his hands together. It felt like the atmosphere of a student council president.

"I'm Bandali from Class A of the third year. I'm an Inspector, and I don't have any special abilities. Nice to meet you."

It felt like they were in the military. Shivering at his overly stiff greeting, Sihyun suddenly remembered past incidents and brushed off his goosebumps, realizing that his atmosphere and name didn't match. Despite his name suggesting a gentle and kind demeanor, in reality, he was a cold person with a demeanor that seemed unforgiving of mistakes.

Once the introductions were over, silence fell in the meeting room. Sihyun glanced around at people's reactions. After Bandal's introduction, everyone seemed to be waiting for him to speak. It seemed like a substantive leader had been decided.

Well, since he was the top of the third year.

Being the top of the third year meant he was practically the top of the school. So, it wasn't strange that the lead in conversation was handed to him.

As everyone finished their introductions, Bandal, feeling the stifling tension, loosened his tie slightly and exhaled, checking the clock on the wall.

"I'm thinking of dividing into teams and assigning roles today. Speak up if you have any complaints."

His tone was authoritative, indicating he was accustomed to a high-pressure position. Speaking in a commanding manner, like breathing, or giving orders, his eyes wandered, wondering if he was also the son of a big company's chairman. Sihyun glanced around, confirming that everyone was silent. No one seemed to have any complaints.

It was understandable that people would react like that when someone with that kind of atmosphere spoke. It felt like the atmosphere when a CEO told employees to speak up if they had any complaints.

As Bandal's speech made the atmosphere somewhat solemn, Seowoo was the one to liven it up. Clapping once, he diverted everyone's attention, smiling brightly as he spoke.

"Well then, we need to divide into teams first, but before that, shouldn't we understand the rules of the siege battle in detail? We've only heard a rough explanation, we don't know the specifics."

"Exactly!"

"......?"

The voice agreeing with Seowoo's statement was unfamiliar. People reflexively looked towards the meeting room door, realizing the voice came from outside. Eventually, the closed door opened, and a teacher they hadn't seen before entered the Blue Team meeting room.

"Teacher Jihyun?"

Whether they knew each other or not, Jaehi spoke up. The teacher, responding with a slight squint, distributed the paper he held in his arms to everyone in the meeting room.

"I brought this to let you read it firsthand instead of explaining it a hundred times verbally. If you have any questions, ask. Since I'm on the Blue Team, do we have to win?"

As if encouraging them, the teacher clenched his fist and winked, closing one eye. Sihyun lowered his gaze and began reading the paper detailing the rules of the siege battle.

<Sports Competition Siege Game Rules>

Siege Battle: A fight to capture a castle or fortress, the highest level of the siege battle has various unique points. Here are the detailed match contents.

1. Each team divides into A Group with 7 members and B Group with 8 members. A Group plays against each other, and B Group plays against each other.

2. Offense and defense alternate between teams, with each team playing approximately two matches.

3. The defending team can set fortress special missions, and the attacking team cannot know the selected missions until the game starts. As the missions provide various advantages during the game, careful selection is necessary.

4. Each team must select 2 members for reconnaissance, and the remaining members not selected for reconnaissance must focus on offense and defense.

5. The game ends when the attacking team captures the crystal bead located on the highest floor of the defending team's fortress or steals the key to the vault located underground within 20 minutes. If the fortress is not captured or the key is not stolen within the time limit, the defending team wins.

6. The reconnaissance team of each team enters the Colosseum dungeon, a shared game area, and must search for the treasure "Tears of the Mermaid" within the 10-floor dungeon. If the reconnaissance team finds the Tears of the Mermaid, the game will end with the victory of the team that found the treasure.

7. Throughout the Colosseum, irregulars ranging from minimum warning class to maximum danger class are lurking, and the reconnaissance team must search for the treasure without being detected by them or eliminate them.

8. The game takes place in a virtual reality space, and if a player dies, it takes 30 seconds to respawn. After respawning, they can walk around invincibly for 10 seconds, and respawn areas are random.

The above are the siege game rules, and for detailed information, please contact the responsible teacher.

Sihyun furrowed his brows as he read the somewhat lengthy rules. Nevertheless, he thought the event match would be somewhat simple, but contrary to expectations, the rules were quite complex. And...

"Wow, this seems pretty hard...."

Jaehi, who was beside him, expressed admiration, speaking on his behalf. Sihyun scratched his cheek, empathizing with Jaehi's awkward expression, nodding in agreement. There were too many factors to be applied as variables in the game.
