Lu Yan thought for a moment, decisively slicing open his palm, smearing blood on a dead Pollutant, and tossing it into a nearby cement well. He then activated his regeneration talent, swiftly healing his hand wounds, and climbed to a high point, concealing his tracks.
Lu Yan opened his earpiece, whispering to the others, "Be cautious, something's approaching."
The Malarial Mosquito's flying speed was too rapid; within just 30 seconds, it neared the vicinity.
What would a mosquito magnified hundreds of times look like in flight?
Lu Yan's ears rang from the impact, his mind momentarily dazed. Pollutants living in the Divine Realm often carried traces of mental contamination.
He tightened his grip on the dagger.
As the nearby monitors were shattered, the Malarial Mosquito was unaware of Lu Yan's precise location, sniffing out his scent.
After a few breaths, the figure of this Pollutant appeared in Lu Yan's line of sight.
The Pollutant sniffed around, strolling to the edge of the well, lowering its head to peer inside.
With a burst of agility, Lu Yan surged forward, plunging his dagger fiercely into the Pollutant's back, tearing off half of its membranous wings.
Crimson blood splattered over Lu Yan as the Pollutant, in agony, roared, sprouting a pair of blade-like arms from its back, attempting to stab Lu Yan's abdomen fiercely.
It was a battle of equals.
The only imbalance came from Lu Yan's omniscient knowledge.
"[Abdomen, three inches below.]"
"[Stab the compound eye.]"
"[The other half of the wings.]"
The system's guidance was always concise and effective, instilling a chilling fear in the Malarial Mosquito's heart. Every move he made seemed to be anticipated by his opponent.
But this human body was unusually slender, with thighs even thinner than his neck. Why did he possess such terrifying combat awareness?
He had only a pair of wings, now broken at the base, dripping with blood. Fresh membranous wings sprouted from his back as he entertained thoughts of retreat.
But the next moment, he found himself pinned to the ground, his neck firmly grasped.
Lu Yan's eyes gleamed with a crimson light as a faint smile played on his lips. "Did I give you permission to leave?"
The fourth phalanx of Lu Yan's fingers protruded, his long nails piercing through the Pollutant's defensive exterior.
From behind, he thrust his arm halfway into the abdomen of this giant mosquito.
Lu Yan seized a pulsating brain, roughly the size of his fist.
This brain, akin to a heart, connected to the veins and nerves inside the Pollutant's body.
"This is the true brain of the master."
Unlike ordinary auxiliary brains, the auxiliary brains within Divine Court guards were intricately linked to the master, and killing these auxiliary brains could weaken the master's strength. Likewise, auxiliary brains could relay information back to the master.
"With such a commotion, the master has already awakened from his slumber."
"But he has confidence in the Divine Court guards and is not preparing to flee temporarily. After all, rebuilding a divine kingdom would be much more difficult than before…"
Without hesitation, Lu Yan clenched his hand into a fist, eliciting a fierce scream from the auxiliary brain, enough to make one's soul shudder.
White brain matter oozed out along his fingertips.
"This thing is actually edible, but it's just an auxiliary brain, and its taste can't compare to the master's brain delicacy."
Without kingfish, Lu Yan wasn't particularly inclined to eat it himself.
Moreover, eating it would hardly serve any purpose, so he abandoned the idea of consumption.
Several golden scales emerged on the back of Lu Yan's hand, unable to subside temporarily due to the excessive use of talents.
Most importantly, his clothes were dirtied. It would probably be challenging to wash off the blood contaminated with pollutants.
His back arched, and he breathed heavily.
For a Harbinger, continuous high-intensity combat was deadly.
Lu Yan withdrew his dagger, glancing at the values on his phone, where the degree of mutation had risen to 52.1.
He took out a special medicine from his pocket, popped a mint candy into his mouth, and sucked on it.
Lu Yan knew well that even with the use of special medicine, it would be challenging to bring the values back to their previous levels.
The degree of mutation was like a countdown to death, hanging over the head of every Harbinger.
Under such pressure, it was truly difficult for the mental state of a Harbinger to reach "average" or above.
Lu Yan shed some blood, attracting other pollutants. But fortunately, they weren't too troublesome characters.

After the sun set, the surroundings plunged into darkness.
Due to the shroud of sea fog, neither the moon nor the stars were visible in this Divine Realm.
Lu Yan stood guard beside the Malarial Mosquito's corpse, frowning, prodding at the larvae inside its body with his dagger.
In his earpiece, Ning Huai's voice came through: "Advance team Ning Huai, calling other team members. Area 1 has been cleared. Total of 17 pollutants eliminated. Do other areas require reinforcement?"
"Advance team Meng Hu, I've sustained some injuries. The saliva of this pollutant is highly toxic; one of my eyes is blinded. But it's nothing serious."
"Advance team Bai Qiu, I... cough... cough. I misjudged the enemy's numbers and got surrounded. But the danger has been dealt with. The only issue is that, due to excessive talent usage compounded with encountering strong pollution, my mutation value is about to exceed 100."
"I've used the special medicine. But the effect isn't significant. Ning Team, I probably won't hold on much longer."
"It's been an honor to be your colleague for half a century."
Lu Yan inquired, "Can you hold on? I'll come over right away."
"No need, it's too late."
Bai Qiu bowed his head, smiling bitterly as he looked at the knife plunged into his own heart.
Summoning the courage to kill oneself was indeed a difficult decision.
His consciousness was dissipating, collapsing beside the pollutant's corpse, his face completely transformed into that of a wolf.
The sky remained veiled in sea fog, and in a daze, Bai Qiu uttered, "It's been so long since I've seen the moon."
This "so long" referred to forty-five years.
