Chapter 78: Third - Part 2

In the end, the teachers raised the white flag. Sihyun, who had exhaled, remained seated, leaning on the bed, feeling a pillow behind his back.

"It hurts your back if you just sit like that."

Seowoo, who spoke in a gentle voice, sat on the bed while smiling. The teachers left to wrap things up, Rus lay down on the sofa. As Sihyun looked at him, he suddenly felt the gaze of Class A students fixated on him. Feeling their intense stares, Sihyun rolled his eyes. The apology seemed to have been done a while ago, but he wondered if he had to do it again.

After a long silence, Sihyun, who couldn't endure the silence and stares, opened his mouth just as the teachers entered the room.

"We have completed the classification of intact and non-intact rooms. We have divided them into female and male rooms, and except for Down and Ji Hye, the remaining six are arranged to sleep in this room. Please bring your luggage and come out."

Finally, it seemed like the situation was settled as the teachers called Down and Ji Hye. As they left, the two who had been looking at each other until the end slowly left the room. Sihyun briefly glanced at their backs and then shifted his gaze to someone not included in the six people sleeping in this room.

"Why?"

"Are you sleeping here?"

"Then where should I sleep?"

"I don't know."

Why would they ask me when I'm not in charge? Sihyun muttered quietly without saying anything. Nonchalantly looking at Rus, who was sitting on the sofa, Seowoo spoke, "Take care of yourself; don't worry about your friends. It seems like one of the girls is ready to kill me."

"...."

Even without mentioning names, it seemed clear who that one person was. Sihyun, who gazed at Down's closed door, looked back around at those sitting around. Before talking to Rus, there was only Seowoo sitting on the bed, but now, four more had joined. Feeling the gazes surrounding him, Sihyun stretched. Despite the soft feel of the pillow behind his back, the stares directed at him were uncomfortable.

"What's going on?"

"He's the irregular in human form living in the sea."

"...."

"How did you know?"

With a cheerful tone, Haewoon said, grinning. Unlike the refreshing question, it was a sharp one. Sihyun, with a somewhat troubled expression that didn't match the question, didn't answer. Facing Haewoon's gaze, which seemed to imply that he would keep asking until he got an answer, Sihyun ruffled his hair.

It wasn't really a secret.

Confirmation was never given, so there was no reason to mention it, but now there was no reason not to. Sihyun, who had silently reached a conclusion, pressed his tired eyes and opened his mouth.

"I had a dream before coming here, and it was exactly like what happened today."

"A dream?"

"Yeah. The day you asked if I had a nightmare."

"...So, you had a premonition?"

"Could be."

Sihyun shrugged, his expression casual, and his tone calm. Hamin, who thought he handled that almost-death situation so calmly, twitched his nose in response.

"So, did you freak out when you saw the ship?"

"I was just surprised."

"Why didn't you say anything then?"

"What was there to say? Should I have said, 'I had a nightmare, and this ship in my dream was exactly like the one we just saw'? The ship in my nightmare was rocking as if it would overturn, and a hand reached out to grab me."

If he had said that back then, the mood for the school trip would have been ruined. As Sihyun raised the pace of his words, Hamin, who had been silently listening to the conversation, raised his left eyebrow.

"What?"

He asked with a rough tone. Feeling the sudden change in the atmosphere, Sihyun, who was quietly surprised by Hamin's reaction, revealed his doubt. Seowoo, who had been simply listening without saying anything, leaned towards Sihyun.

"Were you caught?"

"..."

"You dreamed about it, knew you were caught, and still ran towards death?"

"Yeah."

Silence hung heavy in the air. Sihyun thought he had said too much and rolled his lips inward. Although the words sounded calm, all five pairs of eyes looking at him were ominous.

"So, you were caught on your own?"

No, add one more pair.

Looking at Russ, who seemed like he might say at any moment that a Quadruple was not aware of the value of his life, Sihyun swallowed his saliva. If asked whether he knew he was caught, he had his reasons. But even if he said it, it seemed like no one would listen. Sihyun had a day that seemed to be on his side, looking at Hamin, who turned his gaze to him as if the day had become clearer than usual.

"Yeah. I said I had been caught."

Static pressed down on his shoulders as if making a decision. Listening to Seowoo's words, which sounded calm but felt chilling, Sihyun thought he had said unnecessary things and tucked his lips inward. To be honest, it was unfair.

Until a while ago, there was no such reaction, right? What was the difference between saving a person and dying to save a person, knowing you would die? The conclusion was that he died, and he lived. Wasn't that enough? Looking at them, Ruth, who sighed, opened his mouth.

"They say there is no weight on a person's life, but Awakened individuals are different, kid."

"...I guess."

"When you die, the people you could have saved with your hands will die too. Can you put losing a D-Class and losing an S-Class on the same level?"

"...I guess not."

He replied to the lecture without any military terms. With a calm response, everyone, except Sihyun, sighed. Sihyun, who had responded diligently for fear of wrestling, felt even more unjust.
