Chapter 58: The Seven Streams

Lu Yan's gaze fell on the monster in Su Chenyang's arms.

Su Chenyang, unlike normal awakened Harbingers, had transplanted talents. Although his spiritual power threshold exceeded 3000, his combat power was almost zero.

Therefore, he was well aware that if Lu Yan could kill Yang Tianxin, then killing him would probably be a piece of cake.

The system commented, "[To be honest, because he's too weak, I can't be bothered to provide much information.]"

"Spiritual power threshold: 2700. Talents: Warning, automatic targeting. The one behind him is transplanted. Underneath his clothes, there's a gun produced by the Fifth Research Institute. Be careful on your own," the system warned.

Su Chenyang noticed his gaze.

His face revealed a commercial smile, "I can give you this mermaid in my arms. Honestly, I have a lot of money. I've lost interest in making money long ago; just let me go. My talent is very ordinary, absolutely not a threat. I just want to live."

As he spoke, he used the mermaid's body to shield his arm, quietly reaching for the gun hidden behind the windbreaker.

"I admit defeat. I was blind; I mistook you for an ordinary person. Honestly, you bear a resemblance to an old friend of mine... Luckily, no major disaster has occurred yet. Maybe we can still discuss cooperation?"

After several evolutions, Lu Yan's facial features had subtly changed.

Lu Yan played with the dagger in his hand, "What if I disagree?"

"Then, die!"

Su Chenyang's hand reached for the trigger; his gun was still behind him, not even drawn, but it was enough.

[Talent 309 - Tracking Shot]

However, the bullet disappeared the moment Lu Yan raised his hand.

It didn't actually vanish; Lu Yan just blocked it with his hand. Su Chenyang's gun and bullets were products of the Fifth Research Institute.

Compared to regular bullets, these were seeds of some plant pollutant.

Since it was a pollutant, for the kingfisher, it was edible.

The child was six months old, only eating meat, which could lead to nutritional imbalance. Eating some vegetables would be good.

The kingfisher took a few bites and found the peas a bit tough.

Su Chenyang couldn't understand, but he was greatly shocked.

He tried to run, but Lu Yan's knife quickly flew towards him, deeply stabbing into his back.

Compared to Su Chenyang, Lu Yan was more like someone with the talent of "auto-aim."

Su Chenyang stumbled and fell to the ground. The mermaid in his hand also fell, rolling on the ground.

Lu Yan's shoe sole pressed on Su Chenyang's head.

He bent down, pulling the knife out. Glancing at the mermaid on the side.

Su Chenyang almost hopeless, shouted, "Chen Yun, save me!"

That was the mermaid's name.

[That mermaid... is already dead.] the system said, [For an interesting reason. It was due to the degradation of respiratory organs, suffocation.]

[He actually wanted to die; he didn't even struggle. For him, perhaps death is a kind of release?]

Lu Yan silently removed the large golden fish egg hanging on the mermaid's neck.

In that moment, he almost heard the cheers of the kingfisher.

After removing this egg, the mermaid, like a corpse drained of blood, shriveled onto the deformed bones.

Su Chenyang's face finally lost its composure and calmness; his tone trembled, "The mermaids are all yours. I can give you money. I still have a few bottles of extracted mermaid genes... don't kill me, don't kill me..."

"Killing is wrong," Lu Yan said, "My personal preferences cannot override the law."

Su Chenyang frantically nodded, his back covered in cold sweat, "Yes, yes."

As long as he doesn't die now, there's still hope.

However, Lu Yan's next words quickly brought despair to Su Chenyang.

"Fortunately, there is no specific law yet for pollutants."

A pleased smile appeared on Lu Yan's face.

He lifted Su Chenyang's back collar, reaching the cliff edge of Mermaid Bay. In the distance, a patrol boat with lights approached Mermaid Bay.

It was now 12:47 a.m.

Under the cliff was the habitat of the mermaids.

After smelling the blood, dozens of beautiful mermaids emerged from below.

Su Chenyang's expression was full of terror. He grabbed Lu Yan's arm, shaking his head incessantly, "No, no! Please—"

Lu Yan's expression was a half-smile, "But I want to try. After the perfect evolved species dies, will these mermaid clans still listen to you?"

He let go of his hand.

As the heavy object fell into the water, the mermaids squeezed out beast-like roars from their throats, rushing towards him.

Su Chenyang's cries for help were drowned in the water, and the water's surface quickly turned a thrilling red.

Lu Yan watched this scene, slightly squinting his eyes, "It seems they don't listen."
