The Invasion Day - Chapter 53 - part 1

If the previous strange creatures only made people feel weird and scared, then these new appearing creatures give a sense of disgust and horror.

Several individuals held their breath, staring wide-eyed as it swiftly flashed by.

Fu Shiwu's expression changed, grabbing Tang Xuhai quietly, moving in a certain direction. At this moment, they were hidden behind the trees in a large green area, dimly lit and not attracting attention.

Stealthily, they crept, pressed against the tree trunks, Fu Shiwu peered out. Not far away, Shi Zheng was manipulating a remote control.

Fu Shiwu felt uneasy; nothing must go wrong!

"Boom!!!"

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

Successive explosions echoed. Fu Shiwu and the others finally breathed easier. With these huge blasts, even that six-armed three-headed creature would meet its end.

"Hiss—yaaah~~~~~"

Near the explosions, sharp and piercing screams resounded. The lesser creatures startled by the aftermath of the explosions were frightened, their higher-ranking counterpart that summoned them was dead, leaving no one to control these creatures.

The evolved creature turned and fled, while the ordinary ones scattered, some even panicked and ran into the fences of the playground, beaten to death by the enraged crowd.

Good, now it's time to deal with Shi Zheng! There's nothing holding them back now.

Tang Xuhai stared fiercely at Shi Zheng, waiting for Fu Shiwu's command to attack.

"Wait! Wait a moment!" Fu Shiwu suddenly exclaimed softly.

Tang Xuhai paused, restraining his intense emotions. He took a deep breath, turning back. "What's wrong?"

"The situation isn't right." Fu Shiwu adjusted the perception of the images, switching from an overhead view to an overlook for a more comprehensive perspective. "We're surrounded!"

"What?!" Miao Jia was puzzled and suspicious. "How's that possible?"

"Yeah, Shi Zheng's men went east, didn't they?" Zhen Zi was confused.

"They just created an illusion! They didn't actually leave through that door!" Fu Shiwu lamented, "I was so focused on Shi Zheng that I only glanced over, and these people doubled back, then scattered to form a massive encirclement."

"So, Shi Zheng anticipated that we might ambush him?" Liu Zhao couldn't believe it. "He's cunning!"

"He probably never believed we'd just leave like that," Tang Xuhai said with a dark expression.

"Regardless, we need to act first and take him out in advance. He probably didn't expect us to be this close!" Horn Ting suggested.

"That's right!" Wang Dan affirmed, "We have Mr. Fu who can act in advance without the need for close observation; that's our advantage. Let's act quickly, or our advantage will weaken."

As the circle tightened around them, the situation became increasingly unfavorable!

Fu Shiwu felt anxious, watching the expectant gazes of the others, even Tang Xuhai exuded trust. He deeply realized he held these people's fate in his hands, every move of his would have a massive impact.

They made sense, but... Fu Shiwu felt a growing unease deep down.

Gritting his teeth, Fu Shiwu's expression became resolute. "Take down Shi Zheng as soon as possible, let's break out!"

"Alright!" Tang Xuhai growled lowly, tightening his grip on the hilt of his huge sword. "Let's go!"

Tang Xuhai led the charge out of the greenery.

Fu Shiwu followed closely, gripping the gun handle. Wang Dan, Olande followed him, followed in sequence by Zhen Zi, Liu Peiqi, Horn Ting, Liu Zhao, Wu Shan, Ma Dong.

At this critical moment, everyone discarded distractions, with the sole goal of killing Shi Zheng!

"Ah—" Zhen Zi took the lead, just as they emerged from the cover of the trees, unleashing a burst of sonic waves.

Horn Ting's water-based abilities were depleted, now armed only with a wooden stick, yet bravely lunged forward.

Wang Dan was agile, engaging Shi Zheng's men before Fu Shiwu noticed them.

Shi Zheng was momentarily disrupted by Zhen Zi's assault but still tightly held the remote control.

He sneered, "I knew you'd come!"

Though he took a step back, he gestured, and his people dispersed in all directions.

What's happening?

Fu Shiwu was puzzled but still raised his hand, firing at the scattered individuals.

After taking down a few, the rest vanished from sight, leaving Shi Zheng with just a few ability users.

These users specialized in metal, fire, electricity, and wind abilities. Fortunately, having just battled the creatures, everyone was equally exhausted, resorting to hand-to-hand combat.

The only fresh combatant was Shi Zheng himself, but why wasn't he making a move?

More and more confusing situations arose, deepening Fu Shiwu's growing sense of unease.

The action from Tang Xuhai was incredibly fierce; he swung his giant sword, cleaving an anomaly daring enough to stand before him into two halves.

As if feeling obstructed, Tang Xuhai separated his hands, transforming the giant sword into two Tang knives with his movements.

Gradually realizing his advantage, Tang Xuhai's speed in wielding the metallic anomaly became faster and more natural.

"Shi Zheng! Let's see how you die this time!" Tang Xuhai grinned wickedly.

He remembered how the opponent allowed insults from his men; he wasn't as forgiving—every grudge was held against the leader of Tianmu!

Shi Zheng smirked, raising his hand. "Is that so?"

Fu Shiwu's mind buzzed; faint sounds of running on grass and snapping twigs echoed in his ears.

They were running swiftly, and Fu Shiwu's senses followed; within the monochrome images, figures emerged, not just alone but carrying something.

Just then, Shi Zheng pressed down his finger.

Fu Shiwu gasped; he shouted, "There's a bomb! Get down!"

Wang Dan, who was in the middle of celebrating, didn't hesitate; he rolled on the ground.

The others hesitated for a second, then hurriedly dropped, lying flat on the ground.

In the greenery not far from them, a thunderous blast erupted, a violent cloud of dust accompanied by searing heat rushing toward them!

Their ears buzzed from the impact; the explosion was far too close for comfort.

Wang Dan raised his head, eyes filled with dirt and scattered leaves, staring at the scattered flesh and blood that had spattered due to the explosion. "Human... bombs?"

Shi Zheng sat back, bursting into maniacal laughter. "Come on! Come on! Let's see who dares to move!" He gripped the remote, hatred in his voice. "I'll blast anyone who comes close!"

Tang Xuhai, with a grimy face, got up, spitting out dirt. "Bah! Shi Zheng! You're ruthless! Making suicide bombs."

Shi Zheng sneered, shouting fiercely, "Tang Xuhai! This time, I won't give you a chance! Even if it means my death, I'll drag you all to hell!" Then, he softened his tone, speaking slowly. "You thought you messed with my bombs, didn't you? Too naive. These bombs have locators; the moment you move them, I'll know. But it's just a ploy within a ploy!"

Miao Jia coughed, crawling to Zhen Zi's side, shaking her body. The girl had been stunned unconscious by the explosion.

Shi Zheng stood up, dusting himself off, disdain evident. "But you do have some tricks. Sneaking in this close, and I misjudged your position, making those carrying the bombs go a bit too far." He smirked. "How does it feel? You're just the first to arrive." He looked down at the small display on the compact remote. "More and more bombs are waiting for us. To you, I'm utterly evil, unforgivable, and dying doesn't matter. So, stay here and accompany me in death."

Before the others could react, Fu Shiwu's perception shot out. He urgently yelled, "Another one's coming, from the left!"

Tang Xuhai's eyes sharpened; he stomped his feet on the ground and dashed toward the left.

"Oh, self-sacrifice? How noble," Shi Zheng commented as if sighing.

Fu Shiwu's face paled; after Wen Zhaoming, was Tang Xuhai also about to be lost?

He couldn't care about anyone else; he ran towards Tang Xuhai's direction, yelling, "Tang Xuhai! Don't!!"

Shi Zheng sneered, without hesitation pressing the remote.

Tang Xuhai's feet alternated, making rustling sounds on the grass. His Tang knives turned into a sharp cone, fiercely thrown at the person approaching. At that moment, the person carrying the bomb exploded!

The massive impact stunned Fu Shiwu, who was close, but his reflexes were quick; he swiftly dropped to the ground. After a few seconds, he got up, rushing back to where Fu Shiwu lay and scooped him up.
