Elena lifted her right hand, running it through her silver locks, a faint smile playing on her lips as she continued forward at a leisurely pace.
Crabbe and Goyle, despite their sturdy appearances, couldn't even hold their ground for half a minute in front of the girl. They encountered Elena just once, and unilaterally collapsed to the ground.
At that moment, Draco Malfoy finally recalled the fear he'd been subjected to by the silver-haired girl in Diagon Alley a month prior and the despair born from the stark difference in power.
"Wait... wait."
Draco Malfoy's already pale cheeks grew even whiter as he anxiously glanced at the sticky toad he held in his hands—something Crabbe had handed him just before rushing forward—as if grasping at a lifeline, he hurriedly spoke.
"We just came to deliver this toad. Look, it's perfectly healthy. We were extra careful when catching it..."
Glancing at the trembling yet logically attempting Malfoy, Elena's eyes held a hint of amusement. She raised an eyebrow but remained silent, slowly raising her right hand.
Seeing Elena lift her hand, Draco fearfully closed his eyes and instinctively recoiled, "I-I just wanted to help..."
Pfft.
The anticipated pain didn't arrive. Instead, Draco Malfoy felt a slightly cool hand gently land on his head, accompanied by the girl's soft, gentle voice.
"Alright, thank you. If you want to make friends, next time try not to be so haughty."
Huh?!
Draco cautiously opened one eye, raising his head to find a delicate face before him, with long, fluttering eyelashes he could almost count.
"Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Elena, Elena Kaslana."
Elena casually tousled Draco Malfoy's neatly combed hair, straightened herself, glanced around at the three boys still standing in the compartment, relaxed, and clapped her hands.
"Alright, seems it was all just a misunderstanding."
"Well, I still feel..."
Draco Malfoy subconsciously attempted to justify himself, still not entirely clear on what was happening. He couldn't shake the feeling of being targeted.
"Hmm?"
Elena cast a casual glance behind her, emitting a slight snort. Draco's body trembled, and he immediately sealed his lips.
Not bad. It seemed that children from noble families had high intelligence at the very least. Elena curved her lips, glanced over the compartment, and continued.
"In a distant Eastern land, there's a saying: 'No conflict, no acquaintance.' So, now that the misunderstanding is cleared, you're all friends now, right?"
"Yes, yes."
"Yeah, my dad said the same thing."
"Elena's right."
Harry, Ron, and Draco exchanged glances, then looked at the smiling silver-haired girl standing in the middle of the carriage. Unwillingly, they all nodded simultaneously, acknowledging her statement.
"Hey, you two! Stop pretending to be dead on the ground. I avoided the danger zone intentionally. Don't worry, I won't hit you. But if you dare to deceive me..."
Elena nodded in satisfaction, lightly kicking the two "bodies" on the ground with her little boots. She slowly spoke—she hadn't seen anyone fainting with eyelids fluttering that fast. Compared to the kids around the town, Crabbe and Goyle's acting skills were just too poor.
"Don't hit us, don't hit us, we'll get up!"
"Sorry, sorry, it wasn't intentional."
Upon hearing Elena's words, to Draco Malfoy's astonishment, the seemingly unconscious Crabbe and Goyle swiftly opened their eyes and scrambled up from the ground. Especially the second fallen, Crabbe, practically leaped up from the floor. As for the previously knocked-out Goyle, he swayed for a while before slowly getting up with Crabbe's support.
Leaving the tumult in Draco's mind, Elena cheerfully surveyed the kids in the compartment, skillfully giving a thumbs-up to herself.
"Great, from now on, if anyone bullies you at school, big sister here has got your back."
Sure enough, Elena knew, just as Benedictus had said, the quickest way to integrate into a new learning environment was to bond with classmates from the start. This successful methodology had been tested, whether in orphanages or the local primary schools. Clearly, it applied equally well to the young wizards at Hogwarts.
Watching Harry Potter and the Malfoy group introducing themselves amicably, Elena felt a sense of accomplishment.
And that's why she, this kind-hearted little angel fostering friendships among classmates, didn't deserve to be called to the principal's office every week. It was obvious the teachers in town were deliberately targeting her!
