"Actually, I think traveling at night might not be a bad idea," Fu Shiwu glanced at the fuel gauge. The modified car was large and 4-wheel drive, naturally consuming more fuel than Horn Ting's or Olande's. Now, Fu Shiwu was considering consolidating all the gas they had, given it would be a shame to abandon their accumulated food, clothes, and daily essentials.

Just as Fu Shiwu was contemplating this, a massive fire suddenly erupted on the deserted highway. Reflexively, Fu Shiwu slammed the brakes.

*Screech* The ear-piercing sound of the brakes shattered the silent night.

The two cars trailing closely behind also hurriedly braked. As the road condition improved, their speed had increased, nearly colliding with the modified car's rear.

Before anyone could recover from the shock, dozens of people appeared on both sides of the road. One of them, the apparent leader, shouted at the top of his lungs, "Listen up, folks in the cars! You're surrounded! We're just after goods, not lives! Cooperate, open your doors, and come out with your hands on your heads!"

Tang Xuhai froze, while Fu Shiwu stared in shock. This pitch seemed rehearsed, smooth to the point of being habitual - these people were seasoned criminals.

Miao Jia, previously drowsy, perked up, chuckling, "Highway robbery still exists these days?"

None of the people inside the modified car moved or made a sound, nor did the two cars behind.

"Are you all deaf? Can't you hear my instructions? Refusing our offer will bring consequences!" the leader shouted impatiently.

"Boss, these guys are clueless. Should we teach them a lesson?" a lackey behind him nodded obsequiously.

"Alright," the leader nodded imperiously, speaking slowly, "But be cautious this time, we don't want another bloody mess."

"Got it," the lackey grinned, gesturing to the others behind him. A horde of people armed with axes and machetes closed in.

"I advise you to reconsider," Tang Xuhai sneered from inside the car. "Scheming for wealth at the expense of lives is never a good choice."

"If one dares to do this, one naturally has the ability! Without three points of skill, who dares to climb the 'Liangshan'?*" The lackey grabbed the door handle, sneering at Tang Xuhai. "Think twice, kid! Get out!"

Unhesitatingly, Tang Xuhai pushed the door, hitting the lackey square in the face.

"Ahh!" a painful scream escaped as the lackey bid farewell to two front teeth.

Clutching his bleeding mouth, the lackey glared at Tang Xuhai, mumbling spitefully, "Get 'em, guys!"

Tang Xuhai leaped out of the car, wielding the Dragonbone Twin Blades. He grimaced, "These blades have tasted the blood of mutants. Today might mark the day they taste human flesh!"

"These folks seem somewhat capable," the leader-like figure squinted, addressing everyone to halt.

Approaching, he gradually became visible to everyone.

Tall and burly, his face fierce, he smiled menacingly, "Brother, what should I call you?"

"I wouldn't address someone like you as 'brother,'" Tang Xuhai retorted coldly.

The man remained unperturbed, waving his hand at Tang Xuhai, "Brother, you're mistaken. In these times, the more brothers, the more paths. I see you're a smart one. Why not join us? Your vehicles and belongings would count as your 'membership fee.'"

"You're trying to recruit me for your banditry?" Tang Xuhai frowned.

"What? Look down on us? Unwise!" the lackey with missing teeth glared, eager for a fight. He didn't want this person to join; otherwise, where would he get new teeth in this post-apocalyptic world?

"Li Jixian!" the leader snapped at the lackey's name, turning to Tang Xuhai coldly and arrogantly, "We're not merely highwaymen. Our camp is vast, well-defended against mutant attacks. I don't know where you're fleeing from, but everyone desires a peaceful life. Agree to join our camp, and you won't have to live in fear anymore."

"You have a camp?" Tang Xuhai was genuinely surprised.

Proudly, Li Jixian gestured backward, "Know Pingnan City? It's completely under our control!"

"Pingnan City? The entire city is under your control?" Fu Shiwu couldn't contain himself.

The leader-like figure glanced at him, disregarding his bespectacled, refined appearance. Among the occupants of the three cars, only the strapping young man seemed slightly challenging.

Confidently, he continued, "Naturally. Follow our Wolf Gang, and you'll have the entire city's resources. What do you say?"

"What if I refuse?" Tang Xuhai's expression turned ice-cold, remembering something unsettling.

"Then don't blame us for being ruthless!" Li Jixian sneered, but his bloody mouth and wound made him less intimidating.

"You just mentioned 'not seeking wealth at the cost of lives,' didn't you?" Miao Jia rested his chin on the chair back, innocently asking.

"That was just to fool you. Nobody wants bloodshed," Li Jixian claimed.

"Li Jixian! Are your words too much today?" the leading figure glared disapprovingly.

Li Jixian, intimidated, shut his mouth but secretly hoped Tang Xuhai would refuse, eager to avenge his lost teeth.

"Wolf Gang..." Tang Xuhai gazed steadily at the leader. "Your boss wouldn't happen to be Shi Zheng, would he?"

The intimidating man, usually composed, showed signs of shock this time, staring at Tang Xuhai suspiciously. "What? You know our boss?"

"Heh." Tang Xuhai revealed a grim smile. "As a matter of fact, I'm the one who personally captured him!"

"You're a cop?!" The man's expression changed abruptly. Flames began flickering around him, a dangerous sign of his fire-based abilities.

No wonder he was so audacious; he was a fire element wielder.

Fu Shiwu exchanged a peculiar glance with Wen Zhaoming. Wen Zhaoming's lean figure exuded vitality, a handsome and refined man indeed.

In terms of demeanor and appearance, their companion clearly outshone the other side! Fu Shiwu felt rather satisfied.

Meanwhile, Tang Xuhai, tightening his grip on the twin blades, attacked the fire element wielder, shouting, "I'm Shi Zheng's mortal enemy!"

A pillar of fire surged towards him; Tang Xuhai twisted his body to evade.

Li Jixian panicked, shouting, "Attack! Everyone, attack!"

These were no ordinary folks; they were selected mutants.

Fu Shiwu's group couldn't allow these attackers near their vehicles. Horn Ting opened the car door, Ma Dong exited the car, and Liu Peiqi was unusually excited.

The clash between mutants was historic; even if they didn't catch any mutant, it was a good training opportunity. Liu Peiqi thought about this non

-greedily, holding five seeds in his hand, capable of rapid short-term output. He scattered corn seeds below, which quickly penetrated the asphalt and sprouted.

With a stern expression, Horn Ting shot powerful jets of water in a fan-like pattern. Those charging at him met the water jets, erupting into a shower of blood and holes.

They were least afraid of group battles now. The previous attack by mutants at the summit instilled enough confidence in them.

Even Wang Dan, Olande, Liu Zhao, and Wu Shan remained in their cars, watching their companions' performance.

Ma Dong stirred up a whirlwind of sand, making it impossible for these people to keep their eyes open. He directed it in one direction, rolling over the enemies without harming their allies.

These mutants, following the fire wielder, often robbed surviving passersby. Whenever they encountered resistance, they resorted to robbery, murder, or recruitment. For them, a battle wasn't unexpected, but encountering so many wielders was unprecedented.

After evading the fire wielder's pillar, Tang Xuhai swung the Dragonbone to block. It was challenging to discern the true person amidst the flames engulfing the fire entity.

After all, part of the fiery entity was still flesh, not just a mere illusion.

The fiery entity scratched and pounded Tang Xuhai relentlessly, forcing him to step back continuously.

Tang Xuhai was displeased; how could he be suppressed like this? But how could he defeat this fire entity?
