"Zhi—!" The alien shrieked, ferocious and unwilling to relent, viciously kicking its companion's head before lunging at Fu Shiwu.

Tang Xuhai wielded his arm, hurling the bone dagger into the alien's abdomen. Its eyes, however, remained fixed on Fu Shiwu, its mouth gaping, spraying out a jet of fluid!

"Swoosh—!" A sharp sound cut through the air, a short arrow snapping the alien's spraying appendage.

Meanwhile, Fu Shiwu's handgun flickered with gunfire, several shots shattering the alien's mouthpiece.

It all happened in the blink of an eye; others hadn't reacted when the dust settled here.

Olande paused briefly, unable to praise Fu Shiwu, as he saw him, with a stern face, aiming a few shots towards Tang Xuhai.

Tang Xuhai made no attempt to dodge, bullets hitting the alien heads in front of him.

Drawing his military knife, Tang Xuhai compensated for the freed hand, while Fu Shiwu hurried to the fallen alien's body, retrieving the bone dagger and rushing back to hand it to Tang Xuhai.

"Watch out for the evolved ones!" Tang Xuhai emphasized again.

"Got it!" Fu Shiwu's demeanor turned more serious this time.

Stepping back, he promptly climbed onto the modified car's roof, waiting eagerly. He disliked being passive.

Fu Shiwu gazed down, eyes fixed on the tense battle between them and the aliens. Faced with Wen Zhaoming's intense flames, these aliens were fiercely brave, likely under evolved alien control.

Eliminating the evolved aliens might disband the ordinary ones.

Fu Shiwu stared intently at the large group of aliens below the peak, scanning for abnormal ones.

Their appearances were too similar, lacking distinct features. Fu Shiwu strained to discern any differences. Despite the seemingly defensible position, facing relentless aliens would inevitably lead to exhaustion.

Struggling to contain his anxiousness, Fu Shiwu took deep breaths, calming his mind.

Without calmness, he couldn't enter that peculiar state.

His heart pounded, pumping adrenaline. Taking long breaths, he almost saw without seeing, emptying his mind.

Before long, he slipped into that peculiar state.

This was the first time he willingly entered it quickly, not under unconsciousness or immense pressure.

Everything seemed to vanish before him yet reappeared in another form in his mind—all objects, including Tang Xuhai and the aliens, turned into black-and-white images. The figures and the mountain outlines were white, the rest black.

How odd, they were three-dimensional before.

As this thought crossed his mind, the black-and-white images in his mind shifted from near to distant, transforming from 2D to 3D, his viewpoint changing from frontal to aerial.

How did this happen?

Before he could fathom it, he noticed an abnormality among the aliens!

All aliens appeared as single-lined structures in his mind, yet two were dual-lined.

Were these evolved aliens? Why did evolved aliens have a dual-line structure?

His peculiar ability grew increasingly strange. Though Tang Xuhai and Wen Zhaoming thought of it as a special power, Fu Shiwu didn't see it that way. This unique ability diverged more and more from others' powers.

While these displays made Fu Shiwu glad he wasn't entirely useless, they also unsettled him due to the lack of understanding.

After all, he hadn't had a fever. How did this ability manifest?

Amidst chaotic thoughts, Fu Shiwu momentarily pushed them aside, raising his hand and firing at the dual-lined alien hidden among the others.

Could it be an evolved alien? Trying would reveal!

Though Fu Shiwu's shooting was swift, the evolved alien's reaction was equally rapid. Positioned high, Fu Shiwu was already visible to it. As Fu Shiwu aimed, the alien sprung, evading the bullets.

"Tang Xuhai! That's an evolved one!" Fu Shiwu shouted loudly.

Ordinary aliens didn't have such extraordinary leaping abilities.

"Understood!" Tang Xuhai's eyes glinted. He commanded Olande, "Shoot it down!"

Olande swiftly complied, aiming his crossbow at the airborne alien.

Fu Shiwu's pupils contracted, swiftly judging, "Bang bang!" He fired two shots.

Meanwhile, Olande's crossbow released its arrow.

The two projectiles formed a narrow angle, the alien, unable to dodge in mid-air, twisted its body, while Olande's arrow zoomed towards its head.

A fierce glint flashed in the alien's eyes as its spraying appendage collided with the arrow!

At that moment, Fu Shiwu fired another shot.

"Thunk!" The bullet tore through the evolved alien's head, blasting its skull away.

"There's one more!" Fu Shiwu gasped, not relaxing, shouting to the others below, "The last evolved alien!"

Wang Dan looked at him in astonishment, unable to comprehend how he knew the number of evolved aliens within the group.

"Where?" Tang Xuhai roared.

"On the left!" Fu Shiwu yelled.

"Old Wen, create a wall of fire to the left!" Wen Zhaoming immediately redirected his gushing flames, focusing them on the left side.

"No, it won't reach, too far!" Fu Shiwu sensed the images in his mind; the alien was swiftly retreating. "It's retreating!"

Escape? Tang Xuhai's mind raced. No, these aliens wouldn't retreat so easily.

Then... Tang Xuhai's gaze flickered. It wants to exhaust us!

By now, two to three hundred aliens lay dead, but there remained six to seven hundred more. Piled corpses blocked the passage, making it increasingly difficult to fend off the continuously climbing aliens.

This couldn't continue. Tang Xuhai acted decisively, barking at Wen Zhaoming, "Old Wen, burn these bodies with all your might. Ma Dong, no need for sandification anymore!"

Ma Dong hesitated, Wen Zhaoming was puzzled, but without a second word, Wen Zhaoming began burning the pile of alien bodies with all his strength.

"Boom!!!" The towering flames roared, heat overwhelming, making it hard to breathe. They had to retreat.

The aliens climbing atop the corpses couldn't escape, emitting gruesome screams.

"At least this cleans up a bit," Tang Xuhai remarked coldly at the blaze.

Fu Shiwu, standing on the car roof, looked into the distance. "The aliens are retreating."

Sweat beaded on Wen Zhaoming's forehead; the intense use of his power left him drained.

"Mr. Wen looks like he can't hold on with his power." Horn Ting commented.

"Can we burn gasoline?" Wang Dan suddenly suggested. "We have some in our car."

"No, we can't burn gasoline!" Tang Xuhai asserted firmly.

An ability can regenerate, but once gasoline's gone, it's gone. He didn't know the nearest private gas station and wouldn't take the risk.

"It's alright, I can endure!" Wen Zhaoming said, pale-faced.

Horn Ting stared at Wen Zhaoming's strained face, clenching his teeth. "When Mr. Wen finishes, let me try

."

"How will you try?" Liu Peiqi asked him.

Horn Ting took a deep breath. "I'll try to use high-pressure water jets!"

"Huh?" Liu Peiqi exclaimed in surprise.

What Fu Shiwu and Horn Ting discussed wasn't clear to Liu Peiqi and the others standing farther away. Only Tang Xuhai, who was nearby, heard bits.

"Alright, give it a try," Tang Xuhai nodded calmly.

When Wen Zhaoming couldn't persist anymore, and the burnt alien pile dwindled, Miao Jia approached and pulled Wen Zhaoming back. At that moment, Wen Zhaoming didn't even have the strength to lift his wrist.

Miao Jia took him behind the modified car, where he recharged his computer and monitored the surroundings.

Horn Ting stood in Wen Zhaoming's place. The flames had subsided here, but the aliens started creeping forward again.

The burnt smell was nauseating, but everyone endured it, standing guard at the passage.

"Ah! Ah! Ah!" Horn Ting's scream echoed through the wilderness.

Initially, his water jets were intermittent, then they linked, forming a single line. Gradually, the water pressure increased, turning into a forceful jet.

Horn Ting strained until his face and neck reddened, veins bulging.

His body trembled, worrying everyone.

Even Horn Ting felt he was reaching his limit; his vision darkened.

However, the water jet's pressure wasn't enough. It hurt when it hit, but it wasn't lethal.

Water, under extreme pressure, could even cut through steel.

"Horn Ting?" Liu Zhao looked worriedly at Horn Ting, whose face started turning purple. She feared he might have a burst blood vessel and drop dead. "Are you okay?"

Horn Ting seemed oblivious to her words, and a regretful expression lingered deeply within Fu Shiwu. It pricked him.

He too felt regret. Why was his ability this useless, just water manipulation for drinking and washing? What else could he do?

Horn Ting's background wasn't simple, and he was unwilling to accept such a useless ability. He had considered Fu Shiwu's suggestion, but after the failure of the water jets, he felt it was too difficult. So he gave up.

But goaded by Fu Shiwu, Horn Ting erupted.

A thunderous strike hit Horn Ting's mind, almost like being struck by a sledgehammer. After the excruciating pain, his eyes gradually cleared, revealing a silvery-white water jet before him!

This jet possessed incredible pressure, shooting straight into the distance without dispersing.

"Did it work?" Horn Ting's voice trembled.
