"Should've dropped down, idiot!" Tang Xuhai's mouth spat out the words while his body unhesitatingly lunged towards the ground!

Fu Shiwu couldn't hear his rant anymore; at this moment, he once again entered that peculiar state.

The sky still poured heavy rain, but in Fu Shiwu's eyes, those raindrops seemed incredibly slow, as if someone hit the slow-motion button.

His senses expanded suddenly; he didn't need eyes to see or ears to hear; everything around became crystal clear to him!

Three bizarre creatures approached from different directions, heading towards the trio. Back-to-back, facing these evolved creatures was fatal for them.

Tang Xuhai toppled, Fu Shiwu pushed Wen Zhaoming down, then swiftly sidestepped to evade the creature lunging at him.

His actions were swift; before Wen Zhaoming could react, he was already on the ground. Above him, the creature just narrowly missed.

Though Tang Xuhai was lying prone, his dual knives stood erect, aiming to strike the creature from below. Against a regular one, he might have succeeded, but the evolved one reacted swiftly, dodging his attempts.

With three creatures surrounding them, Fu Shiwu and Wen Zhaoming couldn't engage in close combat. Tension inevitably mounted.

Fu Shiwu gripped the gun handle, "Bang! Bang! Bang!" Three shots fired, all aimed at vital points. He didn't dare overestimate; all three bullets targeted the vital spots of the approaching creatures, but alas, the creature swiftly evaded, dodging all three.

Fu Shiwu clenched his lips, swiftly dodging from his stance, narrowly avoiding the creature's projectiles.

He gasped heavily, rainwater getting sucked into his airways, causing coughing fits. Breathing became difficult, yet Fu Shiwu dared not pause, only darting amidst the chaos.

The evolved creature seemed fixated on him, disregarding others. Unconcerned by obstacles, it leaped into the air, trampling over them.

Fu Shiwu's physical agility was the poorest among them; unlike Wen Zhaoming, who had undergone a period of self-defense training before his disability, Fu Shiwu hadn't touched sports since graduating from university.

He crawled, almost rolling through the battlefield, taking advantage of the numerous obstacles that slowed the creature down.

His mind raced; continuing like this wouldn't work. If he ran to the edge, he'd be caught sooner or later. That would seal his fate!

His eyes blankly scanned ahead. Every movement was imprinted in his mind; he anticipated their actions, how they would respond.

Sensations of psychic abilities swirled in space, explosions, dances, either hitting the creatures or accidentally hitting allies.

There! Fu Shiwu's eyes lit up, a plan formed in his mind. He changed direction, not running away but towards where the psychic was concentrated.

With his right hand gripping the gun handle, he turned and fired behind him. The shot was peculiar, not aimed at the creature nor any target.

The first shot missed, but Fu Shiwu wasn't disheartened; another shot followed. This one had some effect, though it still missed by a hair's breadth.

His legs labored, chest burning, legs feeling like lead; his heavy breathing nearly drowned the surrounding clamor.

Persist! Just a bit longer! Fu Shiwu encouraged himself.

With his hand behind him, calmly waiting for the right moment, as the creature closed in, Fu Shiwu's emotions settled.

Ahead, a battlefield where some psychics fought creatures, winds of spinning blades, and a net of electricity filled the air.

One psychic, focused, two lightning spheres in hand, aimed at a creature. It poised, ready to dodge the attack.

Opportunity!

Gritting his teeth, Fu Shiwu turned and fired at the creature!

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The creature dodged his bullets with astonishing agility, hissing mockingly at Fu Shiwu.

But after evading all the bullets, it couldn't avoid being airborne. Simultaneously, another creature leaped from another direction, resulting in a forceful collision.

Now's the time!

Focused, Fu Shiwu hugged the gunstock, raised his arm, and fired.

"Bang!"

A blossom of blood erupted from the pursuing creature's head, the vivid color quickly washed away by the rain.

The dead creature fell atop another one, tumbling awkwardly to the ground. Seizing the opportunity, another psychic conjured a lightning bolt, ending its life.

The psychic glanced at him, as if both were fortunate beneficiaries of this coincidental event.

He nodded at Fu Shiwu, darting off to another ongoing skirmish before Fu Shiwu could respond.

However, Fu Shiwu knew it wasn't mere coincidence but a calculated manipulation of their actions that led to this.

But now wasn't the time to ponder over not being able to greet the person properly. Fu Shiwu turned and ran back in the direction they came from.

What happened to Tang Xuhai and Wen Zhaoming?!

Wen Zhaoming had it worse than him. Although dodging death temporarily by being pushed down, he couldn't evade the inevitable.

Even if he were on his wheelchair, he couldn't outrun the evolved creature's lightning speed.

Wen Zhaoming didn't give up resistance; lying on the ground, he unleashed twin fire dragons to halt the creature's approach.

The creature roared, evading his attack.

Lying down, it seemed he needn't worry about attacks from behind.

Disregarding the muddy ground, Wen Zhaoming rolled and released firewalls, stopping the creature's approach.

But continuous use of his abilities drained him rapidly. Oh no, running out of energy! He had fought till exhaustion before but never reached this level of depletion. Today's torrential rain forced him to expend more energy to sustain the flames. If not for that, he could have lasted longer.

Seemingly noticing his plight, Tang Xuhai took a deep breath, shifting their battlefield towards Wen Zhaoming's fiery barrier.

Evidently, the creature resisted the fire but persisted in pursuing Tang Xuhai.

Tang Xuhai smirked, dancing amidst Wen Zhaoming's blazing wall, risking burns but weaving among the flames. He utilized moves lethal to humans, yet the creature adeptly evaded.

"Tang Xuhai!!!" Fu Shiwu's voice suddenly rang out, "Watch out!!"

Startled for a moment, Tang Xuhai immediately recalled Fu Shiwu's extraordinary marksmanship. Instead of worrying about bullets, he focused more on facing the two creatures!

As he neared the fiery barrier, he included the creature attempting to attack Wen Zhaoming in his scope.

Fu Shiwu's bullets grazed past him, forcing the two creatures to divert their attention. This inevitably created an opening.

With a low growl, Tang Xuhai leaped, knives intersecting, slashing fiercely at the creature's neck. Feeling resistance, he exerted force; his body soared away.

A cross slash appeared on the creature's neck, blood jetting out due to the high pressure. Its head flew along with Tang Xuhai's airborne body!

Fu Shiwu stared in astonishment at the spectacle, almost forgetting the ongoing battle, captivated

as if in a martial arts film.

He then regained focus, aimed his gun at the other creature.

"Hiss! Hiss!" The creature hissed viciously, seemingly enraged at its kin's demise.

Swatting the bullets with its tentacles, the creature showed aggression, but at that moment, the fiery wall behind it transformed into a column of flames, engulfing it.

Caught in a panicked dilemma, dodging the fire risked getting hit by Tang Xuhai's swift attacks. But not dodging would result in burns.

Evolved as it was, it couldn't discern injuries within bearable limits. Before it could decide, Tang Xuhai lunged forward, thrusting his blade into its chest.

Meanwhile, Fu Shiwu's bullets struck its forehead, and Wen Zhaoming's flames licked at its limbs.

Tang Xuhai landed, stepping back.

Fu Shiwu panted heavily, then lowered his gun, rushing to help Wen Zhaoming out of the mud.

"Are you alright? No injuries?" Fu Shiwu, feeling awkward to directly touch, just expressed concern.
