Even though Fu Shiwu was a bit rigid, he did have some common sense. He didn't believe Tang Xuhai's words at the moment: "Even if it's inflamed, it's impossible for it to cause fever in such a short time."

Tang Xuhai closed his mouth, breathing lightly. He didn't mention that his leg had started to swell from being kicked hard by the green-shirted person before.

Seeing Tang Xuhai stubbornly silent, Fu Shiwu felt defeated. How persistent could this person be?

"Alright, stop saying anything. Lie down!" Fu Shiwu, with little patience, supported Tang Xuhai's body and began to press him downwards.

"There should be a blanket in my car," said Wen Zhaoming.

"You sit here quietly, don't move," Fu Shiwu finally asserted himself in front of Tang Xuhai, who seemed weak from exertion.

Tang Xuhai, feeling completely powerless, leaned against the wall, not bothering to engage in conversation.

Fu Shiwu walked back alone to the door, unlatched it, and climbed into the car, rummaging through the back compartment to find a blanket. Thinking for a moment, he searched through Wen Zhaoming's car, gathering everything he thought might be useful into the blanket bundle and took it all.

This car of Wen Zhaoming was sent to him after the car accident. He couldn't drive it himself now but was also reluctant to ride in someone else's car, so he kept it. Every time he went to the hospital for check-ups and rehabilitation, he used this car. In winter, the wheelchair was accompanied by a blanket to shield from the wind. Additionally, the assistant who drove had added some cushions just to make him more comfortable.

Fu Shiwu took two cushions, a U-shaped pillow, a umbrella, a thermos for drinking water, along with several packs of wet wipes and tissues from the car compartment.

Realizing that Wen Zhaoming also needed care, Fu Shiwu even decided to take the car seat covers off. If he could dismantle it, he would have even removed the seats.

Fu Shiwu noticed changes in the sky, looking through the car window.

Although the night sky was still dark blue, a faint red tint appeared at the horizon, slowly enveloping the earth at a visible, gradual pace.

Hastening his pace, Fu Shiwu carried a large bundle back to the bomb shelter. Seeing him return carrying a much larger bundle than expected, Wen Zhaoming, with his usual expressionless face, was stunned.

"What did you bring?" Wen Zhaoming maneuvered his motorized wheelchair closer, extending his hand to take what Fu Shiwu had.

Fu Shiwu gave way, saying, "I got this. Don't move."

He threw the car seat cover on the ground before placing the large bundle down. Only then did Wen Zhaoming see that Fu Shiwu had brought the car's seat covers.

"Lay this on the ground, at least it won't be so cold," Fu Shiwu arranged three makeshift beds using the car seat covers.

Seven seat covers for three beds - a perfect fit.

Fu Shiwu knelt on one of them, carefully placing a cushion at the top as a pillow, then helping the heavily burnt-out Tang Xuhai over.

Tang Xuhai, standing at 1.88 meters with muscles all over, was incredibly heavy. Fu Shiwu, with his 1.79-meter frame, couldn't lift him at all.

Luckily, Tang Xuhai could exert some strength himself. The two of them awkwardly and crookedly leaned on each other, finally making it to the bed Fu Shiwu had prepared.

"Ugh..." Fu Shiwu, holding his breath, laid Tang Xuhai down on the cushion.

After lying down, Tang Xuhai took a long breath, closing his eyes and said to Fu Shiwu, "There's a first aid kit in my backpack. There are anti-inflammatory and fever-reducing medicines inside. Get it for me."

Acknowledging with a sound, Fu Shiwu covered him with the blanket and went to fetch his backpack.

Under the dim light bulb, Fu Shiwu rummaged through Tang Xuhai's backpack, observing its contents. His previous sense of inferiority escalated even further.

In this backpack, there were clothes, a first aid kit, a lighter, a metal cup, an alcohol stove, solid alcohol, emergency rations, and a set of wireless equipment, probably walkie-talkies, in addition to the multi-purpose shovel and flashlight he had seen before. Thinking of his own backpack with just clothes, dehydrated vegetable cakes, chocolates, instant noodles, and various flavor seasoning packs, along with a portable hard drive...

The difference was stark.

Fu Shiwu sighed, only able to console himself that he lacked experience and still had much to learn...

His heart was riddled with holes!

"Did you find it?" Wen Zhaoming, seeing his complex expression, couldn't help asking.

Fu Shiwu snapped out of it and took out the first aid kit. There were quite a few things inside: antibiotics, anti-inflammatory and fever-reducing medicines, bandages, adhesive tape, cotton swabs, and disinfectant. Tang Xuhai also had an additional spray for bruises and sprains, perhaps aware of his own condition.

"Found it!" Fu Shiwu picked up the spray, moved the anti-inflammatory medicine next to Tang Xuhai, lifted the blanket, rolled up his pants, and sprayed the mist onto his leg. "Wake up, don't sleep. Take the medicine first." Fu Shiwu placed the medicine in his hand, then punctured the mouth of a water bucket, pouring him a cup of water.

"Let him drink more water. He's sweating a lot and might get dehydrated," Wen Zhaoming remarked from the side.

"Yes, drink more water," Fu Shiwu realized belatedly. He took an empty cup from Tang Xuhai's side and poured some water for him.

Supporting himself, Tang Xuhai drank the water and handed the cup to Fu Shiwu. "Okay, I'm fine. I'll just sleep it off. There aren't many people around here, and the aliens shouldn't find this place. Be careful not to make too much noise."

After saying this, Tang Xuhai laid down, covered himself with the blanket, and soon fell asleep.

"Sleeping just like that," Fu Shiwu gawked at how quickly he dozed off.

Seeing that Tang Xuhai was truly asleep, Fu Shiwu disinterestedly averted his gaze.

"Wen, would you like some water?" Fu Shiwu turned to the other person who needed special attention.

Wen Zhaoming rarely spoke, trying to minimize his presence. When Fu Shiwu took the initiative to ask, he politely responded, "Just call me Zhaoming. It's fine like that. Could you please pour me some water?"

Fu Shiwu happily said, "Then I'll call you Zhaoming, and you call me Shiwu."

In this unique scenario with only three people, perhaps he was about to break the zero count in his circle of friends?

A bucket contained around 18 liters of water. These three buckets were enough for three people to drink for three days. If rationed, it could last for about ten days. Tang Xuhai wouldn't be unwell for ten days, right? So, for now, water was still sufficient.

Fu Shiwu picked up Wen Zhaoming's water cup, poured him some water, feeling thirsty himself after not drinking water for a while. After watching Wen Zhaoming thank him and drink, he thought for a moment, wiped Tang Xuhai's cup clean, poured water, and drank from it.

Seeing that it was already ten o'clock and none of them had eaten, Fu Shiwu asked Wen Zhaoming, "Hungry?"

When Wen Zhaoming came out this time, he hadn't anticipated such a dire situation. He didn't have access to military communications like Tang Xuhai did, nor did he have someone like Wang Ziping to provide him with information. Only someone with connections had called him and asked him to come to the Eastern Warehouse Center before nightfall. Since he couldn't reach his assistant, he had to temporarily rely on Fu Shiwu.

So, when he came down, apart from his phone and car keys, he hadn't brought anything else. To avoid being considered a burden by Tang Xuhai and Fu Shiwu, he tried to minimize his presence and didn't actively express any needs.

He saw that both Fu Shiwu and Tang Xuhai had backpacks and prepared food, but he didn't. Even the three buckets of water were for two people.

No one knew how many days they would stay in this place. He didn't want to directly ask for a share of their food and water if they felt hungry or thirsty.

Fu Shiwu wasn't that calculative. Now that Wen Zhaoming was with them, the water naturally counted for him. As for food, he didn't touch the supplies in Tang Xuhai's backpack, but he had brought a lot of instant noodles and dehydrated vegetable cakes, enough for three people to eat three meals a day for three or four days.

Fu Shiwu took out Tang Xuhai's alcohol stove, poured solid alcohol inside, and lit it with Wen Zhaoming's guidance. He took Tang Xuhai's metal cup and put it on top, filling it with water to cook noodles.

He also had various flavor packets and asked Wen Zhaoming, "What flavor do you want? There's pickled cabbage, curry, braised beef, seafood, ribs, chicken stew with mushrooms..."

Wen Zhaoming was speechless, looking at the array of seasoning packets arranged in a fan shape before him, finding Fu Shiwu quite an interesting person.

"...Considering Tang Xuhai shouldn't eat anything too stimulating or greasy, let's go with the chicken stew with mushrooms," Wen Zhaoming nodded.

"Okay, you're right." Fu Shiwu became serious, picked out the chicken stew with mushrooms, and stuffed the rest back into the small bag of the backpack.

As they needed to conserve water, they made soup noodles directly. After Wen Zhaoming and Fu Shiwu took turns eating, they deliberately cooked a thinner pot for Tang Xuhai.

By this time, Tang Xuhai was already deeply asleep. It was quite a hassle to wake him up, and in his less than ideal state, he quickly ate and drank his portion before falling back asleep.

After he slept again, Fu Shiwu diligently wiped clean the metal cup that had served as both a cup and a pot.

They would rely on it for meals in the coming days, so maintaining cleanliness was crucial.

It was almost midnight after all the fuss. Fu Shiwu helped Wen Zhaoming down from the wheelchair and moved him to his bed.

Only then did he realize that Wen Zhaoming's leg disability was much more severe than it seemed. Sitting there, he removed the two prosthetic legs from his thighs, and Fu Shiwu couldn't help but glance upward.

"Is it quite frightening?" Wen Zhaoming forced a smile.

"A bit..." Fu Shiwu honestly admitted.

As Wen Zhaoming sat there, staring at his empty lower legs, his face grew dimmer.
